Nine's PoV
"move aside !! move aside !! dont block the way !!" the officers pushed me and everyone else that crowding infront khun Joong's house , everyone including me was too curious why khun Joong's house suddenly caught on fire, but thankfully people and some officers successfully turned down the fire , only the front part of the house was damaged , i thought the fire didnt even reach the main house
my mind was at ease because at this hour khun Joong usually already went to the palace or to his friend's place , but that wasnt last long when the moment i saw the officers rushed from inside the house
they came out and they carried someone that already all covered , people was murmuring , pushed each other to get a better sight of the person they carried
my heart beating like crazy .. but i tried to be calm
the officers brought that person to the kinda high rank officials there , i recognized some of them , they must be the ministers that khun Joong always trying to get rid , as they examined that person , i heard someone said
"oh heaven !! that's the farang !!! " that man gasped and made everyone else more curious and pushed each other too see
felt like my blood drained , my heart beat and my world stopped , it cant be true .. but i decided to walked closer as i took a better look
just a moment before the high ranked officials told the officers to bring him to the palace and cover his face again, i caught a glimpse of his face
i covered my mouth as i held my tears , i dont want to believe it but ..
it's indeed khun Joong ...
-flashback the night before-
khun Joong gathered everyone in the house and asked us to leave and he gave us all the servants generous amount of money , yes .. he told us that not to come again .. forever , for us the servants , it's kinda rare , if our master wanted to disown us , they could do that freely , not to bother even hand me money like this , even though all of us were confused , we couldn't ask more but do as he said
i didnt want to go , i really didnt want to go , but no matter how hard i tried and begged him for me to stay here , he didnt budge , I cried as i bowed to his feet asking if i did something wrong , i asked for his forgiveness and begged him to let me stay with him
i prepared myself if he was about to kick me off from his feet like he always do , but that night .. it was different , no harsh words came from his mouth but instead he slowly squatted down and tapped my shoulder
"i'm sorry that you've met a wrong master , who didnt treat you any good ..
if you still consider me as your master then listen to my words , please leave this house , leave as far as you could and never looking back .. this is my last order to you .."
i was looking at his eyes and shook my head "i cant .. i really cant master .. anything else .. anything else but leaving your side .. " tears started rolling "my life , my soul, are only for you .. without you then i'm no longer living .. "
khun Joong wiped the tears on my cheek as he was smiling .. it was the softest touch i ever felt
"Nine .. you're beautiful , smart , and the most important is you're actually a good person ..
you will meet someone good as well and start a new life together , you can have your cute little family , and have sons and daughters as beautiful as you .. alright ?" khun Joong patted my hair
i shook my head even more "i dont want that master .. i dont want .. i only want to be always beside you forever .."
"Nine .. dont waste your precious life for me , you deserve a better life , a good new life ..
it's your poor fate that you have to met me .. i treated you bad , i said bad words to you , i used you like a toy , even though you gave all your life to me ..
it's not too late Nine .. please .. runaway .."
i couldnt answer khun Joong , i only cried on his feet , he then helped me to get up and pulled me into his embrace , he intended to calm me down but instead i cried harder as i clutched my hands around him
"i know how you feel about me .. i know that very well ..
the face you made when i brought Kit into this house , the anger you held .. i knew that ..
if it hurts you , if you disappointed .. why didnt you just leave at that moment .. youre so stupid .."
i wiped my tears and looked into khun Joong's eyes
"master .. the moment you took me to your place , is the moment i'm already yours , i promised myself to always beside you forever ..
i knew exactly my place , i didnt dare to desire for your heart , even if i sometimes i dreamed of it ,
i admit it .. i envy khun Kit , i hate him , i hate him to have all your love , even though he didnt love you , he always do bad things behind you , but seeing you love him that much .. i cant do anything ..
but in the end .. to be always beside you , loyal to you .. is already heaven for me ..
so asking me to leave .. it's worse that you kill me with your own hands .. so please dont ask me to leave .. master "
khun Joong smiled as he looking at me "if all of this matters done .. i will get you back again .. "
"can i keep your words master ?"
khun Joong didnt answer , he only smiled

my heart ripped and scattered to pieces , there's no meaning again to live my life , all my purpose gone , i'm the only one left here alone ..
khun Joong's money that he gave me actually more than enough to living my life for more than a year , but the thing is .. i dont want to live anymore ..
i want to be with khun Joong
i sat by the quiet river wiping my tears , throwing pebbles, staring blankly at the orange sky , and thinking .. how should i end my life ..
"why are you crying son ?" an old man approached and smiled to me
i quickly wiped my tears and turned to the old man , he looked really old , he walked with a cane , and it also kinda strange , i was crying alone at the side of the river , i didnt see anyone around here earlier, but he suddenly just came out just like that ...
"i .. i ..." i stuttered
the old man tapped my shoulder "whatever it is .. didnt you think taking your own life is worth it ?"
i gasped .. did he actually read my mind ?
"sometimes the wound in your heart cannot be healed until the only way out is to revenge on everyone that hurt you and your loved one .. and make them feel the sorrow as you felt now ..
and i can help you .." he smiled
did he actually could read my mind ? did he can see what i actually felt right now ?
"who .. who .. are you khun ?" i asked him quietly
he held my shoulders
"i'm the one that going to help you ..
help you to get a nice revenge..
help you to make them feel how it feels to lost someone you love ..
because if you cant have your happiness, then no one else can .."
he tapped my head
"you really want to help me khun ?"
he nodded and smiled "i can help you .. if you willing to help me too .."
i clenched my fist and gathered all the courage i had in my heart then i bowed down to him
"if you help me to revenge my master , i'm willing to do anything .. "
that old man smiled as he nodded "first of all .. you cant catch a fish if you're nowhere near the river right ? "

"Nine , you can sleep here , this used to be Phun and Ohm's room" p'Lam showed me the room after i paid my respect to khun ying Yaya, the lady of this house
"isnt it too big p'Lam ? i can sleep everywhere though "
"it's alright .. Phun and Ohm aint coming back anyway " he smiled "so .. just unpack and you can follow p'pring and help her after this , your duty here is too help p'Pring and p'Inn, they're kind dont worry .."
"thank you p'Lam .." i smiled as i wai him
p'Lam then left the room and close the door
i threw myself in a bed , this surely a good room for just a mere servants, khun Baramee indeed spoiled his servants so much
my decision to work here as a disguise to working on my plan is going smoothly so far , everyone believes me , looks like everyone here just too stupid to realize
i unpack my belonging and took out something from it,
it's khun Joong's shirt ..
i hugged and inhaled the smell deeply as if filling it to my lungs, even if it's faintly , khun Joong's fragrant that still had its trace on it , the only possession i had from the man i love dearly
the memories was still clear to me when they carried khun Joong's lifeless body to the palace , the man with so much power ended his life just like that .. because he chose to protect that ungrateful bastard , Kit ..
khun Joong even let him runaway
that person .. because of that person and his cronies .. they caused khun Joong ended like this , they made my master fell from the grace and sank into a deep darkness and sorrow , they dare to do that to the man i love the most
ever since khun Joong left , the thought of taking away my own life already crossed my mind million times , but .. i have to survive and to revenge this humiliation
i already swore to heaven with my own blood ..
people that had their hands to this matter, they all have to suffer , they have to taste the bitterness .. i wont stop until i die
i looked out to khun Baramee's room and smirked , at least one of them already dead ..
and his man every night just looking from his room to that Baramee's room and already drown in a deep devastation , looking like a stupid mindless person

"Nine .. help Inn bring this outside , khun Phana came here .." p'Pring asked me
i smiled as i got the tray "khrab p'Pring .."
i walked to the main hall, but i stopped for a moment to eavesdrop khun Phana and khun Forth was talking about
"palace said p'Ming will come back here next week , he's already on his way " khun Phana said
Ming ? Mingkwan ? he's going back here ?
"really Pha ? that's a really good news ! glad to hear p'Ming going back here .. " khun Forth looked so happy "we have to welcome him in the port !"

i quickly turned around "i'm sorry .. i'm sorry p'Lam .. p'Pring asked me to bring this to khun Forth , but it seemed like khun Forth is in a serious talk with khun Phana .. i'm .. i'm afraid i .."
p'Lam smiled "it's alright .. you can bring the tray to the table beside them .."
i nodded as i walked slowly to the hall , thankfully they didnt mind me as they kept talking
"one of my man said that he saw Kit near the north border anyway .. still dont know about it , but it must be a good news for p'Ming anyway .." khun Forth said
i struggled to focused pouring the tea to the cup while listening about this matter

"p'Lam .. is khun Forth and khun Phana close ?" i asked p'Lam as i helped him to weave the rattan , i pretended like i didnt know a thing about them .. about all of them ..
"hmm .. you can said it like that .. they're more like brother to each other , along with khun Mingkwan .."

"yes .. General Joss's only son , he went on duty to France since last year , and he's going back "
i made an "O" with my mouth ..
"since khun Mingkwan is going back , i hope young master is going to be cheered up a bit .." p'Lam said
"p'Lam .. why is young master always looked so sad ? i mean .. he looked like a completely different person when khun Phana came earlier , but now he came back looking sad and cold again .."
"that's a long and sad story .. young kid like you wouldn't know how it feels to lose someone you love like young master .. "
i know p'Lam .. i know it very well ..
p'Lam continued "that's why people in this house forbid to enter the small room at the back side of this house"
my eyes suddenly widened and i mumbled "the thread and the mantra must be there .."
"what did you say ? mantra ? " p'Lam looked suspicious
i quickly smiled and gave him an awkward laugh "i'm afraid of ghost .. that room at the back is so dark and chilly .. mmm .. i must recite mantra to prevent ghost went near me if i walked there .."
i gave p'Lam a last wide smile , hoping he'd buy my lies , but in the end he laughed
"no ghost and bad spirit could enter this house Nine .. this house protected by many .. dont worry .." p'Lam tapped my shoulder "it's already late .. just get some sleep "
i nodded "thank you p'Lam .. " then i walked back to my room
but i hide when i saw khun Forth placed a flower garland infront khub Baramee's room , he still looked sad , more like a stupid person
he turned back and saw me
"khun Forth .. i'm Nine .. new servant here , p'Lam told me to use this room near khun Baramee's late room , if you dont like it , i can move to another room.." i introduced and explained myself
"no need .. it's alright .." khun Forth walked and passed me by , he had no expression on his face , and entered his room
i smirked
you and your stupid dead wife is going to help me get my revenge , khun Forth ..
