(U/N) POV
It's been months since we cleared flour 32. Ever since then we have been clearing the flours. It was an off day and I was hanging out with Qweep on flour 48. We were chilling in Lindarth at an Inn in town
"Man feels nice to get a day off," Qweep says with relief
"Yea, they've been working us hard" I agree.
"I don't have any time to slack off if I do it's really noticeable when we fight the boss" He starts complaining.
"That explains that," I tell him finally figuring out something
"What," he asks
"That one time, during the floor 41 boss fight, the boss grabbed your whip after you launched an attack and it failed. After it grabbed your whip he whipped you a real one" I tease
"Psh, I guess I was slacking off that flour, I thought I was gonna die" he exclaims
"Good thing for Looky, she made sure to claim her possessions," I tell him
"Bet I did," Looky says as she appears from nowhere.
"Wassup," I ask her
"Just hanging with my babe," she says as she wrapping her arm around Qweep
"I see, you two getting serious? don't think I can't hear you two at night" I say
"We're getting there," Qweep says
"Well I and my honey bun are gonna lea--" Looky starts to say but is interrupted from yelling outside
It caught my attention so I used my listening skill to hear the conversation.
"Get out! No one wants your crappy smithing on this flour" a man yells
"Your just jealous because you know it's better than yours" a girl fights back
"Want to intervene," Looky asks me
"Don't see why not" I answer.
Despite Looky's personality, she can be serious if the occasion arises.
We leave the Inn to see a bigger guy picking on a girl with short pink hair in a red outfit.
"What's going on here," Qweep asks the fighting pair
"Everyone should have smiles, not frowns" He continues
Before he could finish Looky gave him a hard punch.
"So what's up," I ask
"This douchebag doesn't want to sell me a building so I can set up shop here," The girl says
"She will never be welcomed here with that so-called armour she makes," the guys says
"Ok, ok, how about we settle this by a competition between armours and weapons" Looky proposes. She may not look it, but Looky is a great problem solver.
"Sounds like a deal to me, my armour will crush yours easily little girl," the guys says
"I'm going to make you eat your words" The girl counters
The man walks away.
"Thanks for helping me back there, my name is Lisbeth," the girls says
I hold out my hand, "name is (U/N), this is Looky and Qweep, what was that all about?"
She shakes my hand, "I'm trying to get a shop here but the locals don't seem to like me"
"Hmm, I hope this will fix your problem," I say
"By the way what do you mean by competition between armour and swords," Lisbeth asks
" So what's gonna happen is, your gonna pick someone to wear your armour and use a sword you made, then there will be a battle with a person in the opposing Smiths armour and weapon" Looky explains
"O, I see, I don't really know any people who can fight," Lisbeth says
"You can rent Qweep," Looky tells Lisbeth
"Huh!" Qweep says surprised
"Really? You'd do that for me, I mean I can't put you guys through this" Lisbeth tries to say
"No, we are gonna win, no matter what" Looky declares
"(U/N) help me! Do it instead, just not me" Qweep starts to say
"(U/N) meet us at 10 am at the central square" Looky says as both she and Lisbeth drag Qweep around
"Nooooo!" Qweep says has he struggles
Eventually, they were gone, I went back to the Guildhall to catch some sleep. When it came time I went to the location Looky told me to go. When I arrive Qweep was dressed in full metal armour and had a steel dagger in hand.
"Wow, I guess all Looky wanted was to have a knight in shining armour" I tease
"It's been in my dreams" she responds
"I see," I say
As we converse, another group comes with its own fighter. He was in full plate armour and had a mace.
"Hahahaha, you expect to defeat me with that tiny thing, a dagger is the weakest weapon in the game" the guy from the day before says.
"It just makes it mean more when Qweep destroys you," Lisbeth says
"Haha, I'm the mighty Brutus you stand no chance against me!" The guy in armour says
"Just noticed this is a safe zone right, they can't hurt each other right?" I ask Looky
"That's the point, the armour or weapon will break and they won't die while doing so" she answers
"Wait really, I didn't know that," I say as Looky smirks.
I can see the opposing group get ready
"You ready for this," I ask Qweep
"Yep," He replies will an odd smirk. Looky must have said something to him to make him want to win.
They square up as another player waves his hand down to begin the battle. Brutus strikes first by heavily swinging his mace toward Qweep. Qweep dodges by doing some backflips. Once he lands he charges Brutus and hangs low to the ground. Qweep is using his smaller size to his advantage, Brutus being a lot bigger swings his mace but it doesn't land. Qweep gets close enough to strike and Brutus is a passenger.
Qweep activities a 4 combo skill called disappearing assassin. He first strikes Brutus head-on, when Brutus goes to strike Qweep, he disappears. Qweep appears in Brutus's blind spot and strikes him again. Brutus looks around and Qweep hangs low so that he doesn't see him. Qweep strikes Brutus twice on both his legs. This skill is powerful because it adapts to its enemy, so it works no matter the enemy.
I look at Brutus to see his armour is already at half health, which is weird. I start to analyze the area to find an equipment debuff, It lowers the durability of armour and weapons. The opposing team must have made it thinking they could smash Lisbeth's armour in one hit. I can't help but overhear our enemy.
"How can he move so fast using plate armour?" One of them asks
"Maybe this smith isn't actually all that bad," one of them says.
I can see Lisbeth smirk, she can clearly hear them I guess
Qweep seems to have noticed that the armour is weak and goes in for a bold attack. Brutus sends an attack toward him but Qweep does a spinning dodge and the mace scraps the armour. It was a close call but Qweep has a lot of speed for his attack which will make it have more power. Qweep engages another attack that relies more on power than speed like his other attack. When Qweep lands his strike, the virtual air vibrates from the hit. The armour of Brutus scatters instantly leaving Qweep victorious.
"Well, that was amazing!" Lisbeth says
"That ma babe," Looky says as she goes and hugs him
"Yeaaaaaaaa!" Qweep screams
"Looky! Your mine!" Qweep continues
"Say what," I ask
"We made a deal that Qweep can take the lead tonight in bed," Looky says with no shame
"finally I guess I can have some sleep," I say
"I'm not that bad," Looky says
"Looky, Qweep screams! At night" I say
"He is having a good time ok (U/N)" Looky argues
"A good time, yea ok," I say laughing
"Thanks for helping," Lisbeth says gaining our attention.
"Yea, no problem" I respond
" come to my shop for any new weapons and repairs you need, it will be on the house" Lisbeth responds.
"Really, " I ask
"Yep, do you guys belong to a guild?" Lisbeth asks
"Yes, MindSwords, we have 8 members," Looky says
"Then tell them all about our deal," Lisbeth says
" Ok I guess you will be our Guilds Smith, we have a forge in our guild hall that you can use for our stuff, we wouldn't want to cause wear on your equipment," I say
" then I see no reason to say no," Lisbeth says, "I'm going to set up shop so see you later"
"Cya" Qweep says
We head back home, and at night it was quiet
