The next day, it's Luka's birthday and Marinette wakes up for school, she brushes her teeth, and takes a shower, and once she's done, she gets dressed and does her hair.
Marinette: Today's the day, Tikki.
Tikki: Yep, your boyfriend's birthday today.
Marinette: Yeah. *She finishes up with her hair. * Better put his present in my backpack, don't wanna forget it.
Tikki: Good idea. *Marinette opens her purse up. *
Marinette: Come on, Tikki. *Tikki flew into her purse and Marinette closed it up, she grabbed her backpack, opened her trap door, and went down and downstairs. *
Tom: Good morning, sweetheart.
Marinette: Morning, Dad.
Tom: Here you go, scrambled eggs with bacon and a fresh fruit salad.
Marinette: Thanks, Dad *She eats her breakfast as her dad pours her some orange juice and places it on the table next to her plate. * Thank you.
Tom: You're welcome. *He walked back to the kitchen. *
Sabine: Good morning, Marinette.
Marinette: Morning, mom.
Sabine: Oh, honey, give Luka a little something from us.
Marinette: Okay. What is it?
Sabine: (she revealed a small chocolate cake) A small chocolate cake.
Marinette: Okay. I still have time before school starts, I could swing by the boathouse and give it to him there.
Sabine: Okay, sweetheart.
Marinette: Oh, better get going if I'm gonna get there before school. *She put her dishes in the sink, grabbed the cake box, and headed out to Juleka's house. In the boathouse, Anarka blew her nose maker, Luka chuckled at that. *
Anarka: Happy birthday, Luka.
Luka: Thanks, mom.
Juleka: Happy birthday, Luka. I got you this.
Luka: Thanks Jules. *He took the envelope, opened it, and he pulled out a birthday card. * A card, thanks.
Juleka: Read what's inside. *He opened it and it was a musical joke card. *
Luka: "Happy birthday, Luka. You've been in my life since the day I was born and have been blessed for another year, living and breathing. I love you- Jules." Thanks, Jules. I love it.
Juleka: (they both hugged) You're welcome. Better head to school. See you later. *She kissed Luka on the cheek and hugged her mom too. *
Luka: (putting on his backpack) I better head out too.
Anarka: Alright, see you both later. *Luka leaves the boathouse. Then, they both saw Marinette. *
Juleka: Hey, Marinette. What are you doing here?
Marinette: Wanted to drop this off for Luka. *Luka walked to the doorway and he saw Marinette too. *
Luka: For me, what is it?
Marinette: (showing him the cake box) A cake, from my parents' bakery.
Luka: Cool, thanks, Marinette. I'll bring it inside. *He goes back inside the boathouse and puts the cake up. *
Juleka: You're gonna give him the present now or wait until after school?
Marinette: What do you think I should do?
Juleka: The best bet is giving him at school. *Marinette thought about it and it's a good idea. *
Marinette: Okay. *Luka came back out. *
Luka: We'll have the cake when we get back after the concert.
Marinette: Great. I better head out.
Luka: Wait. *Marinette turned around and saw Luka. * You want a ride on my bike?
Marinette: Sure, but first. *She takes off her backpack and gets a present for him. * I got you a present.
Luka: You didn't have to give me anything, Marinette.
Juleka: Nonsense! It's your birthday, just enjoy it.
Luka: Okay. *He opened it and he held up a jacket. * A jacket!
Marinette: Turn it around. *Luka turned it around and saw the Kitty Section. *
Luka: Cool, I like it, Marinette. Thank you. *He hugged her. *
Marinette: You're welcome. Let's go. *Luka pulled his bike out, and he lent Marinette a bike helmet, she got out his bike, he got on it too, and they biked to school. Juleka gets her phone out and texts her friends about what happened and their reaction is good. *
In school, they arrived and Marinette got off the bike, she kissed Luka on the cheek and lent his helmet back.
Luka: I'll see you inside.
Marinette: Okay. *She goes inside the building and sees her friends. *
Alya: Hey, girl.
Marinette: (waving at her friends) Hey.
Alya: Juleka told us the good news of Luka liking his present.
Marinette: I know, I saw his reaction.
Mylène: So, what are you two gonna do on his birthday? *Adrien walked by and he heard the girls talking and he listened to their conversations. *
Marinette: He invited me to go to the Jagged Stone concert tonight.
Alix: Cool.
Adrien: It's Luka's birthday? Why didn't you say anything about that?
Plagg: I'm a kwami, not a calendar. I don't keep track of people's birthdays.
Adrien: I have to make sure she's okay with Luka.
Plagg: Why are you still antsy about them? Marinette doesn't look harmed by Luka. You're in over your head at things.
Adrien: Maybe. (Hopefully, it's not too late to tell her how I feel about me liking her.)
