I was cleaning the table after the customers had left. I worked as a waitress at Gothams most famous restaurant.
As I wiped the table clean, my eyes wandered outside the glass window to find a clown dancing about.
I giggled and stopped what I was doing, I walked towards the exit and stepped foot outside
Awhhh he was actually cute!
He was continuously doing tricks with the sign, flipping it around, swinging it around.
"Y/n!" My manager called out from inside
"Yeah I'm coming sorry"
I walked back in to find my manager looking really excited
"What's happening?" I asked
"GUESS WHAT?" He asked
"Tell me"
"THIMAS WAYNE HAD TOLD ME THAT HE MIGHT EAT HERE WITH HIS FAMILY ONE DAY"
"Woah Thomas Wayne" I lightly choked on my own breath
"Yeah" he smiled
"Like one day as in next year" I giggled
"No y/n he's a man who keeps his promises"
"Mhm" I replied sarcastically
"Don't tell me you're part of the anti Thomas Wayne group"
"That's a thing?"
"Yeah it's horrible...nothing but a bunch of clowns"
"But they have a point"
"What?"
"I mean they have a point though because poverty isn't going to go away and instead of Thomas selling false hopes and dreams he really needs to do something that will actually bring a change because right now...he's just talking"
"Whatever" my manager said as he packed his stuff since he was heading home and told me to close the restaurant around 8
"Oh my gosh it's only what 2? I'm gonna be here all day"
"Shame" he laughed jokingly
"Oh boy" I whispered
He exited and I decided to watch the clown, unfortunately more customers came in so I couldn't watch him any longer
After 3 hours I noticed he was still out there dancing in this heat. I felt bad and decided to approach him. Before I could I let the cleaners know that I'll be back and that they should keep an eye
I headed outside and confronted him
His emerald eyes met mine and he was confused
"Hey sorry to disturb you but I've been watching you for hours and you've been in this heat for ages, so I was wondering if you'd wanna eat something"
"You've been watching me?" He questioned, his voice was so soft!
Gosh the butterflies in my stomachs were definitely hitting my walls
"N-no no not like that" I giggled nervously
"But please I insist come and eat something"
"B-but I don't have any-"
"I'll give it to you for free come" I whispered
"Okay" he smiled
He walked in and the cleaners eyes followed his every move
I sat opposite him and asked him what he would like to eat
"What would you want?" I asked
"This" he pointed
"alright" I smiled as I came over 10 minutes later with his order
After he was done eating, he introduced himself by his real name , Arthur
You two hit it off pretty well, he was telling you all his jokers and they were get dark humoured but so funny
"Oh Arthur you truly are funny" you giggled
From then Arthur and you have been hanging out a lot, he'd always wait for you to finish your shift so he could walk you home.
After two months, you became agitated. You wanted Arthur to come and tell you that he truly liked you.
You would but you wanted to hear it from him.
You and Arthur were walking along the street as he was telling you something, you felt a pain sting through your arm.
Someone bumped into you hard causing you to stumble
"Ouch"
"Y/n did he push you?" Arthur asked me
"Yeah bu-"
"That does it" Arthur said as he walked up to the man
"I-I'm sorry it was by accident" the man stuttered
"It's alright don't worry"
You and Arthur continued to walk
"Arthur you didn't have to do that you know"
"I know but it's always good to speak how you feel"
You stopped him and stood in front of him
"Oh really?" I questioned
"Yeah"
"Okay...I'll admit you should speak how you feel but you can't even speak how you truly feel for m-anyone!"
"I-I don't know what you're talking about"
"How about stop selling other peoples dreams that you can't fulfil" I replied as I walked off
The next day at your work place you noticed Arthur standing outside the window. You sighed and you were about to open the door until you noticed something was written on the glass window
"I love you" was written
You blushed
You opened the door and hugged Arthur as he welcomed you with opened arms
"I love you y/n" Arthur whispered into your ear
"I love you too"

You and Arthur began dating, you love spending every minute, hour, moment with him.
One day you were finishing work, expecting Arthur to be waiting outside. You went outside to find no one there.
You didn't say anything since he wasn't really supposed to wait outside every day but maybe today he was just busy or tired.
You walked home and called Arthur on your home telephone
Arthur didn't pick up.
You didn't worry even though you were slowly beginning too. You calmed yourself down and went to sleep.
It's been days and you haven't seen Arthur, you asked to have a day off from your manager; your manager and he allowed you.
You went to Arthur's work place, but the boss told you that he hasn't been coming in to work for the past few weeks.
You had noticed that on the news the clown groups were taking over and causing chaos! They were cursing Thomas Wayne and you kinda agreed but you were worried if Arthur might've been involved with them.
You were walking home as tears rolled down your face.
You arrived home but noticed how your door was already opened.
You walked in and saw from the stairs that your bedroom door light was lit on. You slowly crept in to find someone sitting on your bed.
"fuck" you gasped as you saw it was a Joker
He turned around to face you
"You need to leave please" you silenced whispered as tears rolled down your face
"Why baby?" He spoke in a recognisable voice
"A-Arthur?" You asked as you face beamed with a bright smile
He nodded
You ran and hugged him tight, you slowly pulled away
You began playfully slapping his arm
"Baby baby stop" he laughed
"No you left for days after days! Did you even think how I felt without you!"
"Baby I started a group, and it blew up so much that I-"
"The clowns?" I questioned
"You know?" He giggled
You nodded
"And what do you think?"
You shrugged your shoulders
"who cares as long as I've got you and now you're going to stay with me forever" You giggled as you wrapped your arms around him
Arthur lightly removed your arms and backed away
"A-Arthur what are you doing?"
"I can't promise you anything"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not gonna stop this until Thomas Wayne is dead"
"Arthur whats happening to you?" You cried
"I can't promise to come home or visit you on time y/n"
"I don't care! As long as I'm still yours"
Arthur looked down
"Arthur tell me I'm still yours right?"
"I-I don't know I just don't feel the same" Arthur replied as he didn't look into your eyes
Those words slice your heart, you eyes began to water heavily.
"Wow Arthur what an answer?" Y/n cried
"You can't be anyone's!" I screamed as I pushed him
Arthur stormed out of my house and left...
It's been 3 months since you haven't seen Arthur yet
You couldn't get him out of your mind, you still love him.
You saw on the news that Murray Franklin got shot last night and the way Arthur was behaving...bugged you the most.
This wasn't Arthur
You were distracted by another man who walked in. He was cute, he had brown long hair and blue eyes. He was 6ft and he was hella charming.
You and him starting having small conversations, he made you laugh. He slowly came forward towards you, you felt guilty because you didn't wanna kiss him.
"Erm hold up boy" I giggled walking away until I noticed my window door had blood stained. I saw a figure that was covered by the smokes
"Arthur?" I gasped
You saw him coming closer, his clown face paint was dripping, His green hair was messy and wet.
You felt angry and was hungry for revenge so you walked towards the guy who wanted to kiss you and pressed your lips against his.
You knew Arthur was looking
Then you noticed that he was gone, you pulled away from him.
"Woah you just kissed me" he smiled
"Yeah" you sighed
Later you closed the restaurant and decided to walk home.
You felt someone following up behind you, you were shaking slightly as you gulped. You hurried up until you felt a strong grip pull you to the wall.
It was Arthur
He looked angry
"You've moved on already huh?"
"N-no"
Arthur grabbed your face and shook you lightly
"Don't lie to me"
"Oh why do you care? Didn't you say 3 months ago that you didn't feel the same!"
"My anger took over! My passion for killing Thomas Wayne took over all my feelings!"
"I don't care!"
"But I do! I love you y/n" Arthur admitted
"No you don't"
"Yes I do! It kills me to see you with another man!"
"Well tough luck!"
"No!"
Arthur smashed his lips onto yours, his tongue fighting with yours.
"Arthur please"
"No y/n I love you don't stop me!"
You smirked as he kissed you continuously
