Kaila smiled seeing just how happy Lain was. The entire time they hugged she squealed with excitement and with the energy her body was producing seems like it would be enough to power an entire city.
"What's going on up here?" Mallix asked walking up the stairs to Kaila's nursery. He peaked his head inside seeing his wife strangling their poor girl.
He laughed to himself watching as she continued to hold on tightly to her. He kneeled down besides her and kissed the temple of his wife's head.
"Why are you so happy today?" He smiled over at her and Kaila. Seeing them together and happy like this was all he ever wanted.
"Do you want to say it baby, or should I?" Lain's excitement was becoming even more noticeable with how high pitched her voice had become.
Kaila pointed at Lain seeing how eager she was to be able to drop the news to Mallix. "The baby's agreed to try this out!"
Kaila looked over at Mallix happily observing as his eyes shot open as he was both in shock and excitement. "Is this true Kaila, you want to be able to stay here with us? You want to be o-our b-baby girl." He said getting chocked up on words as he was getting teary.
She nodded, "you guys seem really sweet and this all seems really nice. I mean it's worth a try, plus you and Lain have been nice to me the entire time," she throws her head down in shame, "a-and I haven't been."
Simultaneously the couple awe at her as Lain squeezes her tighter and Mallix joins in as well. "We know you've been having a rough time adjusting to it all at first precious, but now that you want to do this. I already know it's going to have so much fun having you around!"
Quiet, they all sat on the floor of Kaila's nursery in one another's arms as soft sniffles were the only noise.
The only broke them from their moment was a foul smell of over burnt bacon. "The food!" Mallix yelled jumping up and running downstairs.
Lain laughed as she grabbed Kaila and walked down. The heavy stench of bacon filled the entire bottom floor completely. Lain and Kaila were pushed back by the smell.
Mallix quickly opened all the bottom floor windows trying to air the house out. "What about we go out for breakfast?" He chuckled as he tossed out the charred bacon.
Lain broke out laughing and Kaila giggled at him, "that sounds fine babe, I'm going to go help Kaila get ready for the day."
And away they went back up the long flight of stairs into the bathroom. Together they washed up and Lain went to Kaila's nursery to grab her a change of clothes. When she returned Kaila was surprised to see Lain holding a yellow snapping top with the words Baby Time written across it and some black leggings.
"I'm not wearing that." She stated.
"And why not?"
"Cause everyone's going to look at me funny!" she whined.
"Cutie, I promise you nobody's going to look at you funny because of the outfit." Her voice was soft but firm.
"How do you know that?"
Lain's chuckled, "I have my ways baby."
Taking a deep breathe, and a moment of Kaila bitting her tongue about earlier, she sucked it up and allowed Lain to help change her into the outfit.
"Awe, don't you just look adorable! Come on let's get that bed head of yours figured out." She teased grabbing a hair brush from off the bathroom counter.
Kaila just glared at her as she watched Lain sit down on the toilet patting her lap. Walking to her Lain swooped her up onto her legs as she began to brush out Kaila's hair.
"Your so pretty baby, look at you!" Lain couldn't help herself seeing the final outcome of her baby's look. Kaila couldn't help but blush a little as Lain said so.
"Go show Mallix, I've got to get myself ready before we can leave." She shooed her away.
Walking around the top floor Kaila couldn't find him. She appeared back in the bathroom to Lain, "i can't find him." She muttered.
"Oh cutie I think he's downstairs still cleaning his mess then."
Kaila smiled and ran off to the stair way only to be stopped by the giant baby gate that obstructed her path.
She tried fumbling with the lock again and nothing. "Mallix!" She shouted for him. When he didn't respond or start his ascend she did it again. Waiting for him right behind the gate, she heard him running up the stairs.
A short while later he got to the top seeing Kaila sat on the floor holding onto the gate dressed in her outfit. He couldn't help but admire how adorable she looked right now.
"Your look adorable precious." He unlocked the gate for her.
Around the corner Lain laughed coming into view, "that's what I said babe." Both of their heads snapped her away.
She must've been wearing one of her outfits from one of her summer lines. She wore a maroon romper that hugged her body nicely but still allowed room for air. In her hands were a yellow bow.
She walked over to Kaila and lifted her up from under her arms and snapped the bow into her hair.
"Now your done."
She couldn't help but notice how quiet it was. She looked up at them and saw Mallix eyeing her down, while Kaila's mouth was still drooling a little.
Lain couldn't help but laugh at them, "alright thank you but no spoilers. This isn't released yet. I'll be unveiling this next month."
"That looks amazing babe" Mallix hugged her.
"Thanks." She kissed him passionately, "babe hurry and get ready please I would like to be able to feed the baby and not just stand here like this. Although it is nice." She kissed him again.
He chuckled, "fine, I'll be quick."
Kaila watched them, everything they did from the way they acted around each other to the way they talked, she could clearly see how in love they were.
"While he's getting ready, let's go downstairs and play." Lain lifted Kaila up onto her hip as she walked down one flight of stairs into the second floor.
She shut the baby gate behind her and sat Kaila down in the middle of the room filled with toys everywhere.
"Play nicely Kaila. I'm going to go finish something for my collection." Lain's waved walking to her office, "I'll be in here if you need my cutie."
Kaila nodded looking around at what to do. Sure she agreed to do this but she hadn't even thought about moments like this. She enjoyed their company and being along with all her new things around her was a little overwhelming.
She got up away from it all and peaked her head inside Lain's office.
She saw her writing things down, making phone calls, and checking her materials all at the same time.
"Wow" she whispered to herself a little too loud as Lain turned around and saw her. She dropped what she was doing and asked whoever was on the phone to hold.
"Is everything alright baby?"
"Um c-can I stay here with you?" Kaila asked nervously playing with her fingers.
"Of course you can, just keep the noise down please I need to make a few important phone calls."
Kaila nodded and ran into the room. The first thing she was drawn to was how many sketch books Lain had piled in the corner of the room.
She sat down and quietly flipped through the pages. All of which were her own original outfits that all had red X's through them. 'Guess they didn't make the cut.'
But flipping through more she found the most beautiful blue dress that had both white and black accents around in perfect places.
She got up and walked over to Lain who was in the middle of a conversation.
"Yes we can do that Tuesday works..." she pushed the phone back, "just a second baby", she went back to her phone, "...Tuesday works fine thanks. I'll see you then. Alright bye."
Putting her phone down Lain looked to Kaila, "you like my designs."
Kaila nodded, "whys this one got an X?"
"That one," Lain bent down looking at the one Kaila was pointing to, "my manager said it wasn't fit enough to be on my line. Why do you like baby?"
Once again Kaila nodded. Lain was so happy to see her baby admiring her work. "I'll tell you what, if your a good girl for the entire day. I will make you that dress. The only one in existence for my sweet girl. Hmm, does that sound like a deal?"
Kaila was jumping in place repeating a string of yes's at Lain.
She chuckled, "alright cutie, now go back and look through them for anymore you like. I've got a few more calls to make before we leave."
"Thank you!" Kaila shouted quickly before running back to the books.
Lain smiled as she continued searching and dialed up her next number.
