Error's Pov
Once everyone got tacos, ate them, and thanked Blue or Goth for making them. I smile, glad everyone is back together again. Science even found his way to come. Ink comes and sits beside me. He looks at me and smiles, his label still on his forehead. I know that what he wrote is probably still on mine, so I take the chance to deal with him about it. I grab him and pull him in for a hug, catching him off guard. His face went into his usual rainbow and he asks me what I'm doing. I chuckle.
"I find it nice that you've regained enough memory to call me yours again, Inky. And now the world can find that out too."I say
"Your voice....changed."Ink says, his eyes small and exclamation points
"That it did. Hmm, been a while since this happened. Blue, what did you put in those tacos?"I ask
"Um, some extra ingredients. Oh shoot....Science I told you not to put your chemicals with my sauces!"Blue replies
"Oh, so that's what that is."Science says
I sigh, shaking my head.
"Well, I'm glad to be getting my memory back as well. But I'm getting worried. What if we lose our memory again? They've manipulated my memory a few times now. What if they do the same to you? I don't want us to forget each other..."Ink says
"Don't worry, Inky. I could never forget you. And you seem to have a skill for regaining memory against the odds. Even if I did, I know I will remember it soon. We have the resources. We have contacts and memories saved away on our phone or in my brother's photo album. I'm sure it'll be fine."I assure him
"Okay..."Ink agrees, though I could see he was still uncertain about it
"Come on, maybe some rest will help."I say, scooping him up
His face was brighter now. I feel my glitches swarm and multiply with some at the corner of my eyes. My phobia was kicking in. Don't care. I carry him up the stairs and kick the door to our room open. I walk in and kick it shut behind me. I grin. I lay down in bed, placing him beside me. He looks at me with his rainbow face lit and I smile. I shut my eyes and wrap an arm around him. I fall asleep quite quickly. But little did we know that our memory would be a problem.
When I wake up again, I find myself in an empty anti void. White, blankness, emptiness everywhere. I sit up and feel a head nuzzle me. I look to find this skeleton laying against me. Who the heck is this? Where am I? What's going on? Who is this? Who am I? I push them off of me gently, but that seemed to wake them up. The skeleton jumps away from me and looks around. He looks at me again, taking some steps back.
"H-H-HeLlO."I say nervously
That did it. He runs off and out of sight. I look around. He's the only other person here. That has to mean something. I struggle to get to my feet, getting steady again. I had to stay with him, learn about him, help each other. It's our best shot. I run after him and where he went.
"H-Hey! WaiT uP!"I shout
I look around and then hear crying. I run towards the sound and find him in a ball. He was crying and staring at the ground. He was mumbling nonsense to himself. I kneel down and nervously place a hand on his shoulder. He looks at me in surprise or shock.
"ARe yOu oK? WhAt's wRoNG?"I ask
"I....I'm okay....It's just something in me just doesn't like blank spaces. It gives me a bad feeling. Who are you?"He says
"OkAy...I...I dUnNo. I cAn't rEmEmBer. WHo aRe yOu?"I ask
"Hey! We have something in common! I don't know who I am either! But maybe whoever Ink is does!"He says
"WhO's InK?"I ask
"I dunno, but a message on your head says Ink's so they gotta know you!"He tells me
"SaMe wItH yOU. ExCepT it sAys ErRor's. PeRhAps wE shOulD fIND tHEm!"I suggest
"Ya! Let's go!"He cheers, grabbing my hand
I freeze up. Then everything went black. I couldn't sense anything. It was weird. But I was soon back and could see again. I slowly move and look around.
"Are you okay?"a voice asks
I look up to see my new buddy hovering over me, gazing worriedly at me. I feel a hand on my face and then realize I'm in his lap. I feel my face warm up.
"Y-ya...WhAt hApPenEd?" I reply
"You froze up when I held your hand. Then error signs covered your eyes and you fell. A bar appears, claiming you're rebooting. But I know your name now! It said you're Error! I am so glad you are ok!"He cheers, hugging me
I'm Error? What does that mean? Who am I supposed to be? Who is he to me? Why am I so odd?
"Y-You'rE nOt wEiRDeD oUt bY mE? A sKeLeToN rEbOoTInG iS wEiRd, iSn'T iT? And iF I aM ErRor, wHY cARe fOr mE?"I ask
"Nope! I find it cool! Besides, that just makes you unique! I care for you because we clearly have some connection to each other. You're also very nice and probably a good friend! Now, let's go find that Ink! Maybe they can help you!"He says, smiling
"BuT whO's gOnNa hElp yOu?"I ask, catching his wording
"I'm sure I'll get my memory back somehow. But I'll just follow the given clues around me. I'll help you, first though."He says, helping me up
I feel something in my pocket. I dig through it and pull out a phone. Must be mine. I open it up and get an idea. Maybe this phone has memories! I see my unnamed buddy getting the same idea after finding his phone. I enter my contacts and scroll through them. I find one labeled Inky. I tap it and it describes them, giving nicknames and stuff. I scroll through the messages. Apparently they like to call me Glitchy when they're not calling me Error. I teased him. A LOT. But the messages made it clear that we cared about each other. I find the option to call him, so I tap it. The call proceeds. I then heard a yelp. I look up and see my buddy jumping back and dropping his phone, which was vibrating. He seems panicked or nervous.
"WhAt's wRoNG?"I ask
"Someone named Glitchy is calling!"He exclaims
"WelL aNsWer tHEm! THEy cOuLd hElp yoU!"I tell him
He nods and picks the phone up. Then, Inky answers my call. I lift it to my face. I listen in. I feel my face warm, knowing who Inky could be to me.
"Hello?"my buddy's voice says on the call
Surely I must be imagining things. Be smooth, act natural. Like you know who you are and are talking to. You can do this!
"HeLlo, my InKy. HoW aRe yOu?"I ask
". . ."There was silence
I look over at my buddy to see his face was a rainbow. I shrug, he's probably just excited to hear from Glitchy.
"I'm g-g-good, Glitchy."Inky says on the phone
That gave it away. I look at my buddy and feel my face blossom in heat.
"Did yOu jUst say 'I'm good, GliTCHy'?"I ask
He nods. Error signs fill my vision.
"YoU'Re InKy?!? Oh my stArs!"I exclaim.
"Wait I am? I am! You're Glitchy! And Error! Meaning we're friends! Wait, calm down before you crash and reboot again!"Ink says
I take some deep breaths and calm down. I blindly walk towards the sound of his voice. I reach my arms out and cautiously hug him. He squeaks in surprise when I do so.
"I'm sO gLaD I'm wITH sOmEOnE aS gOod aS yOu. I mAy nOt rEMEmBer anYtHinG, bUt wItH tHe gAtHerEd iNfo I goT, yOu're onE oF mY mOsT tRuStEd fRiEnDs."I whisper
"Heh, same here. But I advise you to let me go."Inky says
"Why's tHat?"I ask
"Because you have haphephobia."Ink replies
"WhAt iS tHat?"I ask
"Fear of being touched or touching. It causes you to crash or reboot."Ink says
"GoOd pOiNt."I say, releasing him
I sit and wait for the error signs to go away. Ink sat beside me and says he's checking other contacts for clues or help. Now he was wondering how we got here or lost our memory....Which I agree is odd. He was updating me on everything we found. But then he went silent. The silence was cozy, yet unsettling.
"InKy? EvEryThiNg oKay?"I ask
"Yep. I just found some....interesting photos."Inky replies
My vision clears. I look at him. His face was rainbow again. I recall that in the notes of his contact on my phone it said blushes rainbow. But why? Why could he be blushing? It's not like we...oh. I look at his phone to see photos of us kissing. One under mistletoe, one of him kissing my cheek, another vice versa and many others.
"WhEre'd yOu fInD tHeSe?"I ask
"In messages from friends."Ink says
I try to figure out what the messages could mean or at least an excuse.
"It's pRobAblY pHoToShOppEd. THey'rE pRoBabLy mEssiNg wItH yOu."I say
"That's low and wrong of them. Photoshopping is very low of a trick."Ink says
I nod. Then my phone begins to ring. I check it and see someone named Dust is calling. I look at Ink and he narrows his eyes at me.
"How come you have a dead person in your contacts? Don't we turn to dust when we die?"Ink asks
"DuNnO. MAyBe I wAs gEttIng hAuNtEd." I say jokingly with a shrug
"Well answer it. An angry spirit is the last thing you need."Ink says
"TrUe."I agree
I pick my phone up and answer the call.
"HeLlo? WhO is thIs?"I ask
"Oh, don't you play that with me Error! You know who this is! What did you do now? Where the hell are you?"Dust asks
I was surprised. I didn't expect someone to actually answer.
"What's going on in the call?"Ink asks
I lower the phone slightly.
"The deAd GuY iS gIvInG sOme aTtItUde whIle pOp qUiZziNg mE."I say
"I'm not a dead guy! I'm living! Wait, was that a threat? Error!"Dust snaps
"Shoot. They sound angry. Maybe ask them to hand it over to someone else, calmer. My phone says that you were also close with a buddy named Blue. As was this Dust."Ink says
I nod. I hear some noise on the phone
"Hey, deAd gUy? CaN yoU pAsS thE cALL ovEr tO BlUe pLeasE?"I ask
"This is him speaking. Sorry for Dust's rude behavior. He's just worried."A new voice says
"Ah, oKay. BlUe, cAn yOu eXpLain wHat hApPened? I cAn'T reMeMbEr a ThInG."I say
Ink wanders off and knocks on a blank wall.
"Hollow."He says
"You don't? Oh no...E!Pap, get your album memory! He has lost his memory! H-"Blue says
"On iT!"a background voice says
Something clicks in my mind.
"E!Pap? Is thAt mY bRoThEr?"I ask
"Mweheheh! Why yes he is! Allow me to explain to the best I can. You are Error Sans. You are known for being an AU destroyer but also a friend and brother. You're very nice. A lot has happened and I'm your friend. Dust, who's alive, is also your friend. He used to be in a destroyer gang with you as well as Cross, Nightmare, Killer, and Horror. Cross is also a buddy of yours. There's a lot to explain, how about we find, get and show you?"Blue says
"GeT uS, nOt mE. Us!"I say
"Who's with you?"Blue asks
I walk over and stand beside Ink. I look at him and smile.
"InKy."I say, wrapping an arm around him
He let's out a squeaky squeal of surprise. I look at him and his face was bright. I smile, feeling my own face warm.
"You called me Inky...."He whispers
"ThAt I dId!"I say proudly
I hear a click from the phone. I look, seeing Blue had hung up. I chuckle. Rude but they're probably coming! I turn to Ink and he grins. He cautiously slips out of my hug and adjusts my scarf. That's when I begin to wonder how close we are. I reach out and hold his hand nervously. I look at Ink and he looks surprised. I feel my anxious fear go through the roof, much more than it would with a friend.
"Hm? Is something wrong?"He asks
"N-No....I jUst wAnt tO sTay wItH yOu."I say
"O-Ok!"He says
I feel a hand grab me and next, I'm in the air. I jolt and look up to see a skeleton with horns and wings, flying and grabbing me by the arm. I yelp but hear Ink yell as well. I look to see him running on the ground after me. We go through a portal and this dude was zooming through it carelessly. If there was a forest speed limit for flying, he'd be breaking it.
"Error! I'm coming! Hey you! Let Error go now!"Ink yells
"So, they remember you still?"The skeleton says
I nod.
"He'S reGaInInG mEmOry."I whisper
"Just like you're redeveloping feelings for the shortie."He says teasingly
"WhAt? HoW dO yOu kNoW?"I exclaim, feeling my face brighten
"I'm Dust. And I can already see the signs. But I'm amazed you know so quickly. Man, did your memories hold you back because it took you longer to realize your feelings with them!"He tells me
"J-J-JuSt dOn'T tElL hIm."I stutter
"I won't but perhaps you will!"Dust says
"Error! Hey you! I said put him down! Now! Please! Before I make you!"Ink yells
"Oh ya? I'd like to see ya try, shortie!"Dust shouts
"What did you just call me?!"Ink snaps
"Oh! YoU cAlLeD hIm a sHoRTIe! YoU sHoUlDn'T hAvE dOnE tHaT! NoW yOu'Re iN fOr iT!"I mutter
"A shortie."Dust says
"Very funny. I'm not a shortie! And even if I was, I can still make you!"Ink says, shooting a bone attack up
It just narrowly misses Dust's wing. Dust notices but chuckles at the attempt. I watch Ink pick up a rock from the nearby grassy ground. He, while running, aims and throws. It went right past Dust.
"Hah! You missed!"Dust says
"Did I?"Ink asks, snapping his fingers
I look up at Dust. He nods. But that was moments before the rock returns and smacks him in the face. I look down and see Ink swaying his finger in different directions. As he did so, Dust got hit by the rock in each direction he goes. Dust soon gives in.
"Fine! I'll put him down! Who knows, maybe you two lovers will remember more!"Dust says
He swoops down to the ground. Ink stops in his tracks and smirks. Dust shoves me towards Ink. I frown as we collide, knowing my face must be burning so much right now.
"That's what I thought. Thank you for cooperating, sir. But what do you mean by lovers?"Ink asks
"You'll find out. Now I'll go get Blue. I'm Dust."Dust says
"Ah, so you're the dead guy! Nice to meet you!"Ink says
"I'm not a dead guy!"Dust snaps
"Whatever you say."Ink says with a smirk
Dust walks away. I look at Ink nervously. He smiles at me. I feel myself press against him and try to back away. He wraps his arms around me. He pulls me close to hug me. I feel my face warm even more. I tremble nervously. I look down to see strings were summoned from my hands. I quickly know that this means I was on edge. I shake my hands and see they were gone. I gaze at Ink, rubbing the back of my skull nervously. He winks at me and I lift my scarf over my face to hide my intensing blushing sensation.
"Error! I'm so glad you're okay! I got you! You're not gonna leave me anytime soon!"Ink says
"Oh? AnD wHy's tHat? WhY cAn't I? Why ArEn'T I?"I ask with a teasing tone
"Because...I don't want to risk you getting hurt, Glitchy. I lo---------look to help you!"Ink says nervously
My soul skips a beat at this attempt of a save from what he might've said. Is he "redeveloping" his feelings as well? D-Does he love me?
"W-W-Well, okay. I....WeLl wE sHoUlD fOlLoW hiM!"I say, tearing away
I run after Dust, pulling my scarf over my face. Why do I stutter? Idiot! I must've looked so stupid! I see Dust with a Papyrus up ahead. The Papyrus sees me and runs to me. He picks me up and into a hug. He had tears falling from his face.
"BrOtHeR!"He cheers
I look at him in shock.
"PaPy?"I ask
"It's mE, ERr0r. It's mE. I'm s0 glAd y0u'rE oKaY!"Papy cheers
I look to my right and see Ink being picked up by a Papy as well. We make eye contact and smile. We were remembering again big important things. And it was nice.
"GoOdnEsS! WeRe yOuR cLoThEs AlWaYs In sUcH bAd sHaPe? LeT'S gEt tHaT fIxEd!"Papy says, carrying me over his shoulder.
I see Dust flying above us in the sky. I see a little bit behind us was Ink on his assumed brother's shoulders, watching me. We make eye contact again and he winks again with a grin. I feel my face warm and look away, hiding my face. I hear him chuckle.
"Brother, what's so funny?"The Papyrus asks
"Error. He's so cute when he has that yellow glow across his face."I hear Ink say
I shut my eyes. I feel my face brighten even more. He luckily forgot what the yellow was but I still feel my love growing and face brightening, my soul skipping beats.
"Aww, you're falling for him again. How adorable."The Papy says
My soul skips even quicker, beating as if it was possessed by Sonic the hedgehog or something. I lift my scarf over my face higher and again. I frown and tighten my grip on my scarf.
"Papy! Shut up! And what do you mean again?"Ink snaps
"You'll learn."They say
Papy carries me into some house. He then quickly puts me in some room. He tosses some clothes in and orders for me to change. He then shuts the door. I begin to get changed. I see that my clothes were a bit torn up or worn out. Paps was right. I switch my pants. After I took my scarf, jacket and shirt off, I notice an injury. A part of my rib cage was cracked. I check my stats, but I had not lost any hp. Odd. I begin to wonder what could've happened that led to us getting stuck in that blank space, cause the injury and our memory loss. I use one of my strings to tie around the crack like a bandage. I hear the door open. Panic quickly fills me. But I thought it was just Paps coming to speak or something. But then I hear talking.
"Hey, Blue? You in here? Dust says you wanted to tell me so-Oh frick."A voice says
I turn around and see Ink standing there with the door behind him, his hand on the knob. I never felt so embarrassed in a moment of my memory as far as I remember. His face went rainbow and his gaze was locked on me. I quickly put my arms across myself in order to conceal myself. My face was on fire and error signs mercilessly clog up my vision.
"InK! GeT oUT! YoU shOuLd oF kNoCkEd! ThE dOor iS sHut fOr a rEaSon!"I exclaim.
"Sorry! I'm so sorry, Error! I didn't mean to intrude! I didn't stare I swear! I'll go now! P-Please forgive me!"Ink says in a panic
I then hear the door slam. I get my shirt on and put my jacket over it. I go to the door, press against it and sit. I calm myself down. It was just Ink. It was one person instead of many. But one special person he is....AGH! This is so embarrassing! It's gonna be so awkward! How am I supposed to act from here?!? My vision returns once my face cools with my soul beating normal again. I get up and leave the room. I look around and see everyone talking. Dust approaches me. He looks at me and grins.
"Just got info on what happened. Blue and Science had put security cameras and stuff into this place. Apparently, while you two were resting, Renew came in, beat the hell out of you, did some kind of memory loss technique and sent you there. Though it was seen that E!Gaster healed you for whatever reason. And if you're wondering where Ink is now, he's downstairs looking through a photo album."Dust says
I nod, understanding. He grabs my arm and drags me down the stairs. I look around. Yep, everyone was here. Everyone I could recognize from my contacts at least. There was a Reaper dude being sweet to some injured dude, a little skeleton sitting beside Blue and talking;two skeletons chatting, one only having a single eye-light while the other had stars for eyes, a Science dude doing something to a computer, a human in the corner, and some bright golden dude talking with my brother, two other Paps and some skeleton with a hugs knife. Ink was reading through a book. I lean against a wall and watch things unfold. I watch some of them go to the Star-eyed and single eyed. I overhear them talking. Ink had no part in it, though. He was much more focused on what he was reading.
"I found some items left at the scene. One is a flash drive of some kind. Science investigated it and found it is all of Error's memories. The other is a vial labeled Ink's memories."The one eyed says
"So that means we can return their memories?"Blue asks
"Yes, but we'll probably have to do it while Error reboots."The science dude answers
Dust looks right at me, then at Ink. He smiles.
"I know exactly how to get him to reboot."he says
The others look at him confusedly. They shrug and nod. Some begin to talk again while Dust tries to sneak up behind Ink. He reaches out from behind to grab Ink but Ink grabs his wrist and flips him over.
"What the heck?!"Dust snaps as he gets back up
"I know you're up to something and I want no part of it. Also you're not the most sneaky or stealthiest at sneaking up on people."Ink says
Dust seems irritated but he lets out a huff and comes beside Ink. He whispers something to him that made his face go rainbow again. Dust then points at me while whispering. I didn't get a good feeling about this. Dust takes the book from Ink and shoves him over. Ink froze up on the spot, catching himself before he was shoved very far. But Dust then knocks him further using one of his wings. He knocked right into me. I slowly and cautiously wrap my arms around him to keep him from falling backwards. He looks at me with a pure surprised face. He grips onto me nonetheless. I gaze at him nervously, some error signs already at the corners of my vision, blocking me from seeing anything around us. Ink just so happens to be the only one I can clearly see.
"A-ARe yoU oKay? ThAt wAs qUiTe a rOuGh sHovE."I ask
"Y-Ya. I'm okay...Are you? Wait, your phobia! Sorry!"Ink says, releasing his grip on me
I, on the other hand, did not. I pull him close, hugging him. I could see this catches him off guard.
"I'm fInE. I dOn't cArE iF MY pHobIa mEsSeS wITH mE. I'vE hAnDlEd iT bEfoRe. I cAn dO iT aGaIn."I say
He looks at me and nods. His grip returns.
"NoW wHaT was hE teLlinG yOu? I sAw hIm pOiNT aT mE."I ask
"He was telling me that the pictures aren't photoshopped. Also he began teasing about how you may love me.... but that's absurd. Given the situation, how can a dead guy be right about that of all things?" Ink replies
"I AM NOT A DEAD GUY!"Dust snaps
Ink flares at him, one eye light an exclamation point and the other a 💢.
"Ok, a dead eavesdropper!"Ink responds sharply
"Oh FRICK!"Dust exclaims, running off
"Y-Y-Y-Ya, c-cRazY...."I say nervously as I stutter and feel my face warm slightly
"Wait....do you....d-do you...."Ink mutters, looking at me confusedly
"Do I wHaT?"I ask
"You....love me?"Ink asks
I feel my face warm up fast. I look away from him, focusing on the error signs.
"Mhm..."I reply, nodding
"Oh! Wow!"Ink says
"It's stUpiD, iSn'T it?"I ask
"No, it's actually quite sweet."Ink says, leaning closer
"InKy....WhAt aRe yO-!"I begin but he cuts me off
He kisses me. I feel my face explode in heat. He holds there, his eyes shut and the rainbow across his face.
"That should do the trick."A voice says
Sure enough, I crashed and needed to reboot. When I finish rebooting, Ink was no longer with me. But I now remember everything. I look around. He was nowhere in sight. I go over to Dust curiously.
"HeY, DuSt, whEre'S InKy?"I ask
"With Science upstairs. Science is getting his memories back and making sure everything is ok."Dust says
"Uh...DuSt. Do yOu rEmEmBer tHe lAst tIme hE dId tHat?"I ask worriedly
"Oh shoot! Blue! Where are you?"Dust yells, running off
"I'm in the kitchen!"Blue shouts
I look around. I go upstairs just to see Science leaving a room. He passes me, muttering scientific nonsense. I go to the room and find the door open. I step in and knock on the door. As I did so, error signs block my vision.
"InK?"I call
"Science? I thought you said the tests were do-!"I hear Ink say, but go silent
I smile. He was here. He was okay.
"Thank the stars he can't see me."Ink mumbles
"JusT bEcAuSe I cAn'T sEe doEs nOt mEaN I cAn't hEar yOu."I say
I take a few steps forward as the door shuts itself. I slip on something and fall forward. I feel myself collide with someone and we land on what I guess based on what I feel is a bed. I wrap my arms around him protectively, still unable to see.
"I'm so gLaD yOu'Re oK.InKy, yOu'rE stIlL hEre!"I cheer quietly to him
"Of course I am! Now get off of m-m-me! Please, Glitchy! Y-You h-hypocrite!"Ink cries
"HyPoCrItE? WhAt Do yOu-Oh mY...."I say with a realization hitting me
Ink was silent.
"HeY, I kNocKeD, uNlIkE yOu. PluS I cAn'T sEe, y0u cOulD. AnD iT's nOt liKe tHiS iS tHe FiRsT tiMe wE'Ve sEeN eAcH oThEr lIkE tHiS. ReMEmbEr wHeN wE swApPeD bOdIeS?"I say, trying to calm us both down
"That still wasn't the most pleasant of times. But hey, I guess this is karma for what I did back then and earlier. B-But can you please get off me? Glitchy?"Ink asks
"O-Of coUrSe. I'm s-sOrRy InKy."I reply, releasing him
Soon as I do, I sit up, feeling my face was extremely warm. I sigh, shaking my head. I get myself in the craziest of situations. I suddenly feel two hands wrap around me and pull at me. I then quickly find myself pressed against the bed with somebody holding me down. My vision clears up. Ink was on me. I feel my face get warmer. He smiles and nuzzles his head against my chest. My eye-lights shrink. Ink seemed happy and was not affected by me or how I tensed. I was shocked. I thought he was gonna kick me out or want some alone time after that.
"I-InKy?"I stutter
"Much better. You should've known the tables would turn, Glitchy. I'm so glad to be back by your side. And know it's you, too."Ink says, continuing to nuzzle me lovingly
I freeze up and slowly begin to rub his skull. I smile slightly and nod.
"You'Re nOt mOvInG aRe yOu?"I ask
"Nope! I don't want to risk being seperated from you again!"Ink says
I couldn't do anything. He had me pinned and I couldn't move. I could feel my face burning. Plus, I have to admit, I don't want the risk it either. I hear the door slightly open.
"Ink? You in here?"A voice calls
"Mhm. What is it, Palette?"Ink replies
I turn my head slightly and see Palette peeking through. He sees us and makes eye contact with me. Well this just gets better and better. :/ He gets a sly grin on his face.
"Just wanted to let you know that Gothy and I are going for a walk. We will be back soon."Palette says
"W-We are?"Goth is heard asking in surprise
"Yep!"Palette confirms
