The twins exchanged a look before picking me up by the arms and dragging me to another room.
This room appeared to be a side room off the music room. Like a storage closet that had been converted. Although it seemed to still be filled with clothes racks, against the walls, holding what seemed to be costumes. Which I could only assumed was costumes they used during Host Club events.
Some included outfits such as kimonos, suits of armour, police and other various occupational uniforms, really poofy dresses with wigs for what I guessed was some kinda drag and a set that looked like it belonged in another country's summer due to the amount of skin it didn't seem to cover.
"There you go." They said, dropping me down on one of the arm chairs.
It was a sort of white wood with comfy pink fabric cushions. Basically a chair version of the sofas they had in the main hall.
"Thanks" I said, letting out a sort of sigh.
"So why don't you wanna be in there?" Kaoru questioned.
"There no way I'm going to be in the same room as hundreds of fan girls."
They laughed.
"You're really funny, Kino" they said together.
"Hmm..."
I stared at them and the way the seemed to move together. As if they were one person mirror imaged or copy and pasted into real life.
'No normal pair of siblings can achieve this much symmetry'
"What is it?"
"I was just thinking that you two must be really close. I mean you're either talking in sync or finishing each others sentences. Not to mention how your movements and mannerisms seem to mirror each others as well."
"We are really close." Kaoru agreed.
"We even share the same bed." Hikaru added.
"Didn't need to know that"
They let out another laugh.
"Guys can you get in here already, the ladies are getting bored." Tamaki told them, peeking his head through the door. "And Kyoya said one of you have to stay in here with Kino."
"Be right there!" Hikaru yelled.
"Kyoya has real trust issues hasn't he." I pointed out.
"Don't let it bother you." They said.
"I'll go out first."
"Okay."
"See ya later Hikaru." I smiled with a small wave.
Then the room became dead silent and still. The only sound seeming to resonate from the other hall behind the doors. It was like I had pressed pause on a remote.
"What did you just say?" They asked.
"See ya later Hikaru" I repeated in a more confused tone, not sure what the issue was.
"Hikaru..." Kaoru whispered.
They pulled out two green hats and put them on, they then ran around in circles while I had my eyes closed. I opened my eyes.
"Let's play the which one is Hikaru game!" They cheered. "Which one of us is Hikaru?"
"You're Hikaru" I pointed to the left "and you're Kaoru" I said plainly.
"She got it right..." They said quietly, as if in shock.
"Why are you-" Then it hit me
They're twins. People must get them mixed up all the time. So someone being able to tell them apart, is rare. I became just as quietly shocked as them.
"Only Haruhi was able to guess right like that straight away. Now you." Kaoru said, quietly. "How could you tell?"
"Well... Hikaru's voice is a bit more deeper and mischievous while Kaoru, your voice is more caring and gentle. Same with your eyes. Hikaru's seem more misty and mysterious and Kaoru's seem more relaxed and calm." I explained."No offense."
"It's fine..." They replied.
"Guys I thought I told you to hurry-" Tamaki appeared again and noticed the silence. "What's up?"
"She can tell us apart." Hikaru told him.
"No way."
"She can. Watch."
They mixed themselves up again while my eyes were closed and I guessed them correctly again.
"Wow." Tamaki stated. "Well. I'll take over, you two get out there."
Tamaki was about to shove them out the door when I interjected.
"You know what screw it. I'm coming out too."
They looked at me.
"What, I can't go mingle with my own gender?"
They exchanged looks and had a small talk between them before finally agreeing to let me back inside the main hall of the Music Room.
