Gia's POV
'My weakness caused you pain'
"Who is dad on the phone with?"
"Officer Higgins"
"Higgins?!" I remembered him from the ally thah night.
"Yeah..."
"Why?"
"Zayn got arrested" she looked down as she said it.
"WHAT?!" I was completely freaking out.
"Yeah" she reached for my hand, buh I pulled it aweh.
"Why didn't you tell me?!"
"Cause I wanted to see if I could help him...and I didn't know how to tell you"
"How about 'Gia your ex just got arrested'?"
"Gia..."
"Is thah whah Lou told you on the phone?"
"Yeah"
"And now he's gonna go to juvi" it was more of a statement than a question.
"We don't know that..."
"Priya thah was his last chance, if he goht caught again..." the tears were pouring down my cheeks now and I stormed off to my room soh I could beat myself op. How could I have done this to him? It was all my fault. If I hadn't asked to meet him at the ramps none of this would've happened. I threw myself on my bed and sobbed like a baby. All Zayn had ever done was make me happeh, happier than I'd ever been. And in return I goh and completeleh ruin his life. He wanted to goh to collage, buh now he was going to Juvenile Detention instead, all because of meh. I'm a monster. I didn't even hear Priya knock on the door buh I goht a shock when I heard her voice beside me.
"G, are you okay?"
"No, buh I deserve thah" I mumbled into my pillow.
"Gia there's something you should know" she ran her fingers through my hair.
"Whah?" I picked up my head to look at her and based on her expression I looked pretty bad.
"Zayn goht out?"
"Whadaya mean?" she was messing with me.
"Dad called Officer Higgins and asked him not to charge Zayn"
"And he did it?"
"Apparently dad holds a lot more sway in this town than we realized"
"Yeah..." thah gave meh somethin to think about.
"So you can stop beating yourself up, okay?" she wiped aweh a tear from my eye.
"Soh Zayn is back home?" I clarified.
"Safe and sound, Louis just texted me"
"Good" I leht out a sigh of relief. I'm still a monster, buh at least Zayn's okeh.
Zayn's POV
Loueh was at ma house five minutes after I goht back. And I've never been soh happy to see the lad. I hugged him a couple times before he made himself comfortable in his usual spot on my bed.
"So what was it like?"
"Horrible"
"I bet. So how the hell did you get out?"
"Gia's father"
"Really?"
"Yup" I was a biht puzzled about thah myself. I thought the man couldn't stand my living guts, I mean he had made Gia break op with meh.
"Must have been Priya, she's such a babe"
"Huh?"
"After I called your parents I called Priya"
"Soh you think she spoke to her father?"
"Must be"
"Tell her ah said thank you okeh?"
"Sure"
"And uh...ask how Gia's doin..."
"Yeah whah happened with Gia anyway?"
I related the whole story to him right up until the part where I goht arrested. I was just finishin when my sister came in.
"Bai, mommy's asking if you're hungry?"
"Yes very" Louis smiled. Honestleh I hadn't even thought of it buh I was actualleh starving.
Gia's POV
I didn't get much sleep thah night and I was glad to see the sun coming up. I lay in bed a thousand thoughts running through my mind until eventually I fell asleep without realizing; and was awoken by none other than Priya Singh that pretty Indian girl that lives in the room down the hall from mine and is my supposed sibling.
"G wake up, it's ten"
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah"
"Then how come you're up?" I teased.
"Shut up and go take a shower"
"Why the hurry?"
"I wanna go see Zayn, you coming?"
"Yeah, two minutes"
I got up and had a shower and was ready within twenty minutes and was just making my way down the stairs when my dad stopped me.
"Gia where're you going?" he called out from his room.
"Uhm..."
"You know you're still grounded right?"
"Dad I'm just going with Priya"
"And where is Priya going?"
"Ahh..." oh man what should I tell him?
"Gia"
"Dad?"
"Where's Priya going?"
"To...see...Zayn" I shut my eyes.
"Then Priya can go, but you're noht going anywhere"
"Aww Dad please I just needa see if he's okay"
"He's okay now that he's out of jail and you have me to thank for that"
"Yes, thank you"
"Well, just because I got him out of jail doesn't mean I like him anymore than I did before. You are still grounded and that's final. Am I clear?"
"Yes Dad"
I dragged my feet down the stairs and met Priya at the bottom.
"You ready?"
"Dad said I can't come" I moped.
"Oh man! Okay, I can give him a message for you if you want?"
"Just tell him I'm sorry"
Priya's POV
I got to Zayn's house and the place was buzzing. It was all family and I figured this must be how it was every Saturday. Zayn's mom let me in and was very friendly and even offered me something to drink, but I refused and asked to see Zayn. She said he was outback with the lads, soh that's where I went. Louis and Anthony were there along with Zayn's cousin Jawaad and a couple other guys I had seen at Safaa's party. I felt a little awkward at first, but then Louis saw me and came right over.
"Hi babe, what are ya doing here?"
"I came to see Zayn"
"Aww man and here I was thinking you'd come all this way just for me"
"Don't flatter yourself" I gave him a peck on the cheek and we started walking towards the rest of the lads. Zayn saw us coming, turned off his cigarette, and came towards us.
"Hey"
"Hey" I gave him a hug and I felt him sigh.
"You okay?" I asked pulling away from the hug.
"Yeah" his expression told me otherwise, but that's whah he said.
Zayn's POV
Priya walked in and I almost expected to see Gia right behind her, buh she never showed. I knew she was grounded, buh she had snuck out see meh the night before. I figured she could do it again, buh apparently she didn't think so. I took Priya and Loueh to ma room since I didn't think Priya'd wanna hang around with the lads since some of them were smokin and stoff.
"Soh Gia didn't come"
"Yeah sorry, she really wanted to but my dad wouldn't let her"
"Oh" thah explains it.
"Yeah but she said to tell you that she's sorry"
"For whah?"
"Last night..."
"Thah wasn't her fault" I shook my head.
"She still feels bad"
"Tell her noht to"
"Oh god she's not your messenger! Why don't you just tell Gia yourself?" Loueh interrupted.
"Cause she doesn't have a phone and I obviousleh con't goh to see her"
"Then why don't you just send her a video message or somethin, we aren't living in the dark ages you idiuh" he said the 'idiot' part in his best impersonation of meh.
"How?"
"Here" Priya handed me her phone and I stepped out of the room. Noht a bad idea from Loueh to be honest. Buh now whah did I seh to Gia?
Gia's POV
'Drinking on cheap bottles of wine
Sit talking up all night
Saying things we haven't for a while ( a while)
Smiling but we're close to tears

I was in my room studying with my earphones in of course, when Priya goht back. She walked into my room without knocking, handed me her phone and then walked out again closing the door behind her. I turned the music off and then looked at the phone. And there was the face of the boy I loved; looks like he'd made me a video message.
"Hi Giashka, ah hope ya doing okeh. Priya said you were worried about meh; I'm fine okeh behb. I don't exactleh know whah your dad did, buh I'm very grateful. Soh I'm gonna obey his wishes and stay awey from you. I didn't geht to seh it last night, buh thank you for the last six months. Ah never thought I'd fall this hard, buh I did"
He was blushing at this part and his eyes moved away from the screen and dropped to his feet for a mili-second and then he went on.
"I don't know if we could be friends, buh if you ever need anehthin, I'm here for you babe. Good luck on your GCSE's I know you'll ace 'em. I love you…buh ah guess it’s good-bye" he shrugged and then smiled and waved making that silly face thah always reminded me of his baby pictures. Buh it didn't make me smile this time. The way he'd said good-bye was so final that it stung.
