What's guys it's me Phoenix and today we're going to be doing another debunk and that is another Mario vs Sonic debunk video gone wrong. So before we get started let me just say that this debunk really is too bad, there are many good points this guy made unlike the other Mario vs Sonic videos to where they were just straight up biased towards Sonic those videos which I've debunked, but this guy is different and although he did made some good points he got some facts wrong and those are the ones I'm going to be debunking. Next thing I should say that he's been bullied for his entire life simply because he's a Sonic fanboy and that he's been receiving hate comments everywhere on his channel, basically everywhere on Youtube and I feel bad for him. In fact I know how he feels because I've been there. When I was in 7th grade I remember people always calling me Mario because I always talk about Mario and that I'm a hardcore Mario fanboy, some people did not all of them and as I grow I realize that it is practically bullying and it kinda hurts, a year I was in 8th grade I barely stopped talking about Mario and I had many friends than I did last year, but even that year got even worse worse I was actually like a jerk and one time I got suspended for accidentally telling a girl (who is a friend of mine.) Sorry for "raping" her and I felt guilty about because someone told me to tell her that because I was making her feel uncomfortable and I didn't even know what rape means until a teacher told me, so I ended up getting suspended instead that guy who told me to say what I said, and I was only suspended for a day which wasn't that bad but I actually had suicidal thoughts after that I was thinking that it would make the girl feel better if I just died and also I was thinking about the times to where I was being called Mario and my previous actions on what I did which made some students and teachers uncomfortable. But after a talk with my parents and some good teachers some of which I made uncomfortable I came to realize that suicide doesn't resolve anything and I apologize to the girl and she forgave me and I stopped making her feel uncomfortable the school I was at was Bradford Preparatory School I was there for two years and once I got to high school I left the Bradford and moved on to a new school for high school, to where I'm quite popular at because I have A LOT of friends there and I'm probably gonna get more once 11th grade (which I'm in by the way) starts. So yeah I can relate to what this guys going through even though some of my experiences were different from his I know what it feels like to be in that dark and lonely place and bullying is a big thing some people, especially for us teenagers, went suicidal some just started school shootings for revenge because they were bullied and all that and it's a real pain and it physically hurts so if you guys have been bullied before I feel sorry for you just whatever you do for those who have suicidal please talk to someone, your parents, teachers, your friends, or anyone because those people can help you because suicide does not resolve anything at all. But anyways without further a do let's go ahead and get into this debunk. It's over 90 minutes long just to let you know. Also I will try to remind neutral in this so I won't sound too disrespectful to him.
Quick heads up: I'm not debunking him simply because he's a Sonic fanboy I'm only debunking this because there are a lot of points I feel he got wrong. And I won't get angry either like I did with the other Sonic fanboys.

Alright so the first issue I have is that if combatants don't have prior knowledge of each other then how did Mario specifically know to throw Sonic in the ocean to get the edge in this fight? No no no my dude Mario didn't know that water was Sonic's greatest weakness just because Mario threw Sonic into the ocean doesn't mean he knows that the ocean is his weakness, that's like Wonder Woman knowing how to disarm Thor of his hammer. Same with Sonic. Listen man I'm not being rude but if you pay attention to the rules currently and carefully you won't be saying that. Plus even if the fight takes place on an island I still thing Sonic would win. So no Mario does not have the homefield advantage in this fight. I can say the same thing about Sonic like if the fight took place underground with pipes all over the place than Sonic can just use them to speed blitz Mario and kill and say that Sonic knows what to do in that fight.
The next point is that Why didn't you let Sonic use the boost? Do you really expect for Sonic all his abilities? Going by that logic I can say the same thing for Mario and just have Mario use all of his power ups in canon that he has over the years, Death Battle doesn't have to give Mario and Sonic everything. In fact the Fire Flower has been the main power up since the first game and I didn't see Mario use it in the fight.
The next point is that he probably doesn't understand how the battle is going to work because they said any close material is closely tied to the games so yes the Mario World cartoon COUNTS even though it's non canon it still counts because if they ignored it they would have made some ridiculous claims because that's how they work.
The next point is that So Archie Sonic is not used but Mario throwing a dinosaur in the cartoon is? Totally not biased Death Battle not only did he make same mistake other Sonic fanboys did but it's also flat out wrong they used the cartoons for Sonic as well if you watch the battle more carefully.
I'm gonna have to point this out because he said that Mario died in Donkey Kong Jr and that he will explain how Sonic's fall is more durable than Mario's but that's a straight up lie right there Mario didn't die from that full he just got dizzy and knocked out unconscious plus he's survived multiple falls just as Sonic has before.
Okay so my next point this So according to Death Battle, Mario can carry up to 36 power ups with him and has infinite uses thanks to his Bottomless Gloves, impressive but that feat would be completely useless against Sonic for reasons I will explain later. I'm sorry but even that is useful against Sonic for reasons I will explain later, because Mario has a ton of power ups that he can use to overpower Sonic.
Another issue I have is when Death Battle mentioned about Mario's Fire Manipulation without the Fire Flower Sure in the Mario & Luigi spin off series which is arguably a separate canon so why is even being mentioned? Ok and so the Mario and Luigi series is actually canon Nintendo themselves conformed it to be canon so therefore it is right for ScrewAttack to mention this.
Another issue I have when Mario turned into lightning this info is inaccurate and wouldn't help him in the fight against Sonic again I'll explain soon. It would help him in the fight against Sonic which again I will explain soon and no it's not inaccurate.
The next point is that Sonic destroyed multiple fortresses and endured their explosions their explosions in Sonic Heroes. So this Mario feat isn't impressive at all. Unlike Mario however, Sonic only survived the ship explosions because he had help from Tails and Knuckles sure he tanked those explosions but again he needed help destroying them therefore making the Mario feat impressive because he did on his own.
Which is the part that loses me They are literally taking a comedic gag from the opening of a sports spinoff and turning it as a measure of Mario's durability, this game isn't even canon to the main platformer games it's a spinoff so why's this even being looked at? He also claimed that this is an outlier and said that we'd assume that ALL the Mario characters can do the same. Not only what he said made no sense but it's also not true just because the Mario Bros survived that explosion doesn't mean all the other Mario characters can. Also just like with the Mario and Luigi games Nintendo also confirmed that the Mario sports games is canon they said it in the 2012 interview so most of the spinoffs in Mario are indeed canon so therefore this feat is looked at.
So the next point is that he mentioned a feat from Sega Superstars Tennis on how Sonic knocked Eggman unconscious which is faster than Mario's baseball throw, however there is one problem That game is actually a crossover and because I see other Sega characters besides Sonic and since this is a crossover it's non canon so that feat is outlier. So why would you include a crossover feat? At least Death Battle didn't include a crossover feat for Mario.
The next point is when he talks about the dinosaur feat I mentioned. Once again they said it themselves it's closely tied to the games.
For my next point as for the Chain Chump feat let me just say this F.L.U.D.D is actually part of his arsenal so going by your logic I can say that Sonic's Wisp are all outside help. But he did get this current pulling strength doesn't matter in a fight striking power does.
As for the castle kick thing it is massively incorrect because for one thing how was Mario supposed to kick it if he's kidnaped, this is a huge downplay because for one thing he can he just chooses not to. I can say the same thing about Sonic. If Sonic is faster than light as Sega says than why didn't they showcase him doing it? Or why didn't Sonic prove he's faster than light without any power ups or super forms. Oh I know why because he's not faster than light. Sorry man but Mario can do it me just chooses not to the same for Sonic. Even Sonic being above light speed in base form can be an outlier going by that logic. Once again he was kidnaped in Luigi's Mansion and Super Princess Peach so that's the reason why he can't. And also I can say the same thing about Sonic being faster than light just to let you know because he can't going by your logic.
Okay so he admitted that the Donkey Kong moon punch was actually a scene in the games and that it is smaller but Mario has fought on par and equal footing with with Donkey Kong, as for Wario's durability we can't assume that Wario found his way back to the main menu if you actually look closer he was standing in front of the Shake King when he exploded. And yes Sonic has survived similar feats I'm not gonna lie but I think Mario's done way better.
Even though he got a few Mario Galaxy things current it's still a sun and it's still a black hole, it may not be big as ours but it is terrifying.
The next point is that If Sonic's weakness is water, Mario's weakness would be falling from heights. Once again man you literally made the same mistake two other Sonic fanboys made Mario dying from high heights is just a gaming mechanic he's survived multiple high hight falls before even if it does hurt him, so please don't give Nintendo fans a reason to make fun of you trust me I've been there. Plus I've debunked this claim before.
For the next point Why doesn't the black holes in Super Mario Galaxy suck up the land Mario's on? That's a gaming mechanic because at the end of the game a black hole was sucking up everything in a cutscene.
So the best is you I have is that Super Sonic is apparently an Overkill for a fight against Mario not of Mario uses his power ups to counter him.
As for the Smash Bros thing if you noticed that ScrewAttack used this as a reliable source than why did you use Sega Superstars Tennis as a reliable source?
The next issue I have There has never been a time limit in the cartoons or the actual game story where Super Sonic has stated to have a time limit. However if Super Sonic can last for days than why doesn't he fly back to Earth on his own in Sonic Unleashed if Super Sonic has no time limit?
Okay so he said that Mario kicking a castle is an outlier but I already explained that going by his logic Sonic being faster than light is complete BS.
As for the nuclear feats in Sonic X he says it's likely due to his ring system which is a gaming mechanic why war you putting this into a anime feat when the ring system is not in Sonic X at all even if we take it as fact than Sonic should've been dead unless he grabs the ring. Since you said he is immortal as long as he has one ring on him I can say the same thing about about Mario because he can be immortal as long as he has his power ups. But once again that's a gaming mechanic and going by that logic Sonic would've died if he had ZERO RINGS.
He got Super Sonic's durability current. Almost. Well because Super Sonic is not a planet buster that just proves he can survive Planet level attacks. I agree Super Sonic is more durable than Mario but he is not a Planet Buster. That Overplaying Sonic right there like I don't mean to be rude but Super Sonic or Hyper Sonic would not obliterate the planet just to kill Mario or the area their both fighting on. So Death Battle got this one current.
The next issue I have Sonic can time travel on his own with the Time Stones from Sonic CD. And he can still stop time with Time Break no power ups/items needed. Once again you made the same mistake other Sonic fanboys made why? Popup: While his speed has broken time, this required special circumstances such as using a Time Warp Plate in Sonic CD, or interacting with a void in space/time created by the Time Eater. Sonic cannot run through time on his own. You may have gotten Super Sonic current in Sonic X if that was included than Super Sonic would've easily whet back in time and killed Mario at the start of the battle before it even began similar to Ben 10 vs Green Lantern, but Mario still have many options available to counter the Sonic's own time manipulation powers (expect for time travel) and sure while they disappear they still work.
As for the whole lightning and electricity thing it's still the same thing, plus Mario has dodged lasers, and meteors, lightning before. Also and yes Mario can react to Sonic's speed because if Sonic's base speed is faster than light and no it is not an outlier especially in combat speed, sure Sonic takes the edge in travel speed but there's a big difference between travel speed and combat speed. Also Sonic can't infinitely dodge Mario's attacks that is a complete outlier to which everyone has debunked multiple times if Sonic were that fast and can just infinitely dodge attacks than how come he was unable to dodge attacks from Shadow, Metal Sonic, and especially Infinite who is faster than him, why does he need help from the Avatar in Sonic Forces to escape a dimension despite being able to run for 24 hours. Plus that feat is travel speed, and let me tell you this dude there's a big difference between travel speed and combat speed so that feat doesn't equal his combat speed.
So if you said that Mario's Gold Flower can't kill bosses I can say the same thing about Hyper Sonic's Hyper Flash which can't kill bosses either so don't call Death Battle biased when you basically just prove their point.
Another point is once again claiming that Mario's power ups are 100% useless against Sonic because Sonic can steal them from Mario because he's 9x faster than light and Mario can't react to Sonic's speed. Not even close because even if Sonic is faster than light in base form, since I've already proved that Mario can react to light speed and above light speed attacks since travel speed does not equal combat speed, means Sonic just doesn't have enough options available to rope Mario of his power ups he can try but it wouldn't. I will say this though despite being able to react to Sonic's speed without Power Ups, Mario is pretty much vulnerable but with Power Ups, Mario has plenty of options.
He got Donkey Kong current but I've already proven that Wario was there when the Shake King exploded right in front his face so how was Wario supposed to get out of the way then?
For durability I've already debunked his claim on Mario's durability, true Super Sonic is more durable especially with Chaos Emeralds but when it comes base form Mario takes the edge. And Super Sonic once again is not a planet buster the only reason why he was able to destroy a planet in Sonic X is he had help from Super Shadow, and Super Sonic has never been shown destroy planets, he may have been used to do so in Sonic Unleashed but he has never EVER destroyed a planet not even once in the games. Thus proving that even with Power Ups and Super forms, both Mario and Sonic have never been capable of destroying planets.
No, I've already proven that Mario can react to Sonic's speed, how his Power Ups are useful, and has greater durability. Also about Sonic using his body against people like Egg Golem, Dark Gaia, etc I can say the same thing about Mario being able to uses his body against Bowser like punching him into the sun sure he used the environment to his advantage but he used his body as well. Plus it takes more than speed to win a battle too you know.
Okay so the next few points are just him talking about the animation but ScrewAttack HAS said that the ANIMATION ISO ONLY FOR FUN and yet people don't understand that.
True Mario survived a black hole thanks to Rosalina I'll give him points for that but Mario Party is canon as once again Nintendo themselves conformed it in the 2012 interview, the only thing that is non canon to Mario is Paper Mario because he's an entirely different character. Also Mario dying by a black hole in Galaxy is just a gaming mechanic and gaming mechanics are non canon.
I've already proven that Mario doesn't know that water is Sonic's weakness did you even look at the rules more carefully? No offense. And just because their fighting in a place near water Mario doesn't mean he always has the advantage as scene in the first Mario vs Sonic fight.
Really? Sonic kicking Mario's head off? Can he even do the Super Peel Out move in the air? Probably not so Sonic won't be able to decapitate Mario. Plus Mario knows how to uses his fist in combat too so their both dead even.
Sonic may have fallen to Earth and is shot to another planet in Sonic X but since water has been shown killing Sonic time and time again Mario's throw will be fatal and because Mario scales to Donkey Kong and Bowser Mario had enough force to throw Sonic into the water, to his death. And once again Sonic's "immortality" thanks to ring system is a gaming mechanic not included in the anime whatsoever. And I've already proven that Mario dying from a fall and getting hurt by it is just a gaming mechanic, you made the same mistake other Sonic fanboys made. And going by his logic I've seen Sonic die and taken damage from the fall too because it's a gaming mechanic. Thus proving my point.
So in conclusion even though Sonic wins regardless, Mario has many chances of winning. And like I said I didn't debunk this simply because he's a Sonic fanboy I only did this because he made several mistakes in the video, like using gaming mechanics as evidence, and a crossover. He did make some pretty good points in this debunk but everything else I disagree with him on. Noe I do feel bad for him like he made a video expressing how he feels when being bullied. Watch it it's a really good video.
