I've never realized,
how much I hid myself from the rest of the world.
Blending in with the shadows,
instead of stepping into the light.
Because being seen was far too dangerous.
I'm different from the rest of the people that
walk these streets.
so calmly
so collectively
blind to the pain and the heartache, that I know only I see.
I rather hide in this home that I call silence.
I built it, with my own hands.
I know one day someone will come and tear down this border
that I put up for myself.
And I'll fall right along with it.
