"Man this is some bullshit!" Delsin said, having no luck in finding at least one teammate for the calvary battle. Everyone was taken and he was left to his own devices. You see, Delsin had tied first place with Izuku, due to the green haired teen doing some last ditched effort to win.
Now because of that, they tied for first but neither were complaining. They both still won the race so it wasn't so bad. Shoto has come second and Bakugo came third. It was interesting to him because Delsin dominating them with minor difficulty on Shoto's part but out of both of then, neither were a true sweat, unlike Izuku. Everyone else in Class A and B past too with a few students from the general studies group and support group, Hitoshi including, making Delsin smile.
He can now compete with him again and prove he was wrong about him and everyone in class A. He watched as Todoroki glared at him hard with him glaring right back at him, with his signature smirk added. 'I told you Shoto, you're not going to win against me if you hold back....' He thought. The Half Hot Half Cold user was probably still upset about the outcome of the race.....
Flashback!
The students were lined up at the starting line of the obstacle race. Delsin eyes Shoto the most though. 'If I know his cocky attitude, he's going to run up and sabotage the rest of us by using his ice to make the ground slippery. What he doesn't know is that I'll be right beside him when he does....if not ahead! This is my type of challenge!' He thought.
Delsin got into a starting position where he was on one knee while the other was by his hands which were in front of him. He charged neon in his body as it started to glow purple a bit. Everyone around him, including class A students were watching him in surprise. 'He has a new ability?! Since when?!' Bakugo and Todoroki thought. 'He's glowing?! What is that?' Izuku thought.
Midnight turned to the large herd of students. "Remember! As long as you stay on course, which is the outside of the stadium walls, you are in the clear to do whatever you want!" She announced. 'So which means we're allowed to interfere with one another!' Delsin thought. He already made the plan to dash as fast as he can ahead before Todoroki used his ice move to slow everyone down, so he should be in the clear though he had to watch for Bakugo's impulsiveness, he might attack him once he realizes the Conduit is a ahead of him.
Though Delsin couldn't help but cast a worried glance at Midoriya and sigh. 'I really hope you figure something out, Izuku.....cause this is not gonna be pretty!' He thought as he heard the count down, Delsin looked around the walls and came with a bright idea to avoid Todoroki's ice. Once the loud alarm hit Delsin's ears he burst into a blinding neon purple blur and ran up the side of the wall, avoiding the herd of students. Everyone looked to the blur for a second before he vanished from their line of sight.
'What the hell was that?!' Everyone thought. Delsin jumped out of the tunnel and ran beside Todoroki, who had just used his ice to cover the path behind him. Delsin slowed down and ran by him. "Damn you're slow!" He said and he picked up his incredible speed and ran far ahead Todoroki, leaving Endeavour's son shocked at the sheer speed. 'He's never been that fast before! Just what the hell is Rowe?!' He thought before he heard a big boom come from behind him. Todoroki turned to see Aoyama, Kirishima, Yaoyorozu and Bakugo charge at him. "Nice try Todoroki-san!" Momo yelled as she had created a long pole to vault herself over the ice.
Bakugo shouted in rage as he propelled himself with another explosion. "DID YOU THINK I'D LET YOU AND CANT-DU-SHIT PASS AND BEAT ME?! NOT A CHANCE YOU ICY HOT BASTARD!". Everyone had their way of avoiding the unknown first obstacle, the doorway. Since everyone was in a rush to get our onto the track, their was a huge jam in the tunnel, holding back everybody but Delsin, Izuku and Todoroki figured it out first.
Everyone in class A was killing it using their own quirk to get around Todoroki's ice. Mina had used her acid on the bottom of her feet to slide and melt the ice easily, Ojiro used his tail to propelled himself higher, Tokoyami used Dark Shadow to make himself fly and Mineta was using his purple balls on his head to bounce off of them.
Delsin meanwhile was ahead of everybody, running a tight turn to the left with a grin on his face. He had just finished with the Zero pointers with ease. He used his Laser Focus to find the weak points of the bots and shot them to automatically subdue the bot but only long enough for him to escape but everyone else will have to figure something out. 'Knowing them, they're probably already there, checking out my handiwork' He thought. Just as he said that, He heard on the P.A
"And that's Shoto Todoroki in second place, right behind Delsin Rowe! This is still anybody's race! Who'll come out on top?!" Present Mic said. Delsin turned his head, using Laser Focus to see Todoroki skating his way to the front. Shoto saw him too as he was coming up and glared at him heavily. "So there you are...." He said as he shot ice at him. Delsin dodged the projectiles and widened his eyes. 'This guy's serious! He clearly trying to injure me!' He thought. 'So what the hell are standing here watching him for?! GO!' John said. Delsin nodded, running with his Light Speed in full power with Todoroki a few meters behind him, shooting ice at his feet, trying to slow him down.
"Uh-oh! Looks like Todoroki and Rowe are going at for first place but.....whats that in the distance?....seems to me that's Katsuki Bakugo in Third place gunning for first as well!". Both Todoroki and Delsin turned to see Bakugo fly up to them and attack. "THOUGHT YOU CAN PULL A FAST ONE ON ME YOU HALF AND HALF BASTARD!" Bakugo shouted as he sent a kick to Shoto but he ducked and pushed Bakugo back Delsin took this time to run away but Bakugo grabbed him and let the explosions sting his arms, making it go numb. "OH NO YOU DONT! CANT-DU-SHIT!" He shouted.
Todoroki grabbed his other arm, freezing it as well. Delsin grunted but luckily he used 5% of Bestial Mode to push back both Bakugo and Todoroki and used John's fire to thaw out Delsin's arm from the ice. He then shot out a neon ball in between the two which exploded and captured them in a neon bubble, making them float. 'Damn it, I was saving that move until later but I had no choice! They wouldn't let up!' Delsin thought as he kept running, waiting for his arms to heal.
Bakugo was screaming to be let out while Todoroki glared at Rowe, who began running at Light Speed again. Soon though, after Delsin got far enough though, Todoroki and Bakugo were released but was still far behind, like they were 8n the start of the race. The latter was pissed having been caught in such a cheap tactic, in his mind, he launched himself high in the sky and aimed for Rowe's head. Todoroki resumed in his original strategy in slowing down the other contenders. 'This race is between the three of us and I will be victorious!' He thought as he skated across his ice.
The third part of the obstacle race was the large gap with stone pillars with tight ropes connected to them. Delsin wasted no time as he ran at his fastest speed to super jump on a pillar and did it again and again unroll he reached the other side. "Whoa! Delsin Rowe wasted no time in crossed the third Obstacle: The Fall, in no sweat! This guy's a super beast! Ain't nothing slowing him down!".
'You got that right! I refuse to lose this!' He thought running to the last obstacle but he heard Todoroki and Bakugo behind him with the rest of the class not too far either. He ran fast as to not allow either of the two catch up. He refused to let that happen. Upon running a few corners, he reached it. The final obstacle before the finish line: The Minefield. Delsin widened his eyes. "This would be the last obstacle...". He was at a disadvantage.
He can't just rush through this like he did with all the other ones. He'd have to walk through this carefully. He started to scan the ground carefully with Laser Focus as he walked through quickly. He noticed that the land mines were very big so they left a bump in the ground so he paid attention to that. He reached halfway with quick time as he walked steadily but quick. 'Shit this is taking forever! If I don't hurry, they'll eventually-'
"Uh-Oh! Seems like Todoroki and Bakugo are catching up to Rowe! Followed by the rest of the Class A and B! Will he keep the lead?! This is so exciting!". 'No Present Mic it really isn't...' Delsin thought. Delsin started hearing Todoroki and Bakugo behind him. "Oh shit! They're so close!" He said. By accident, he stepped on a mine, letting it explode in his face, launching him in the air. "Whoa look at Rowe fly! Which let's Todoroki pass him with Bakugo hot on his heels!". Delsin looked down and saw the two pass him. "Oh hell no!" He said as he used his neon thrusters to hover over everyone else and land right behind the two. Explosions were heard across the field which only fueled the three's adrenaline.
Delsin used this to launch himself at Bakugo's back as the teen shot himself in the air with his quirk. "Let me catch a ride, will ya?" He said to Bakugo but before the angry teen could react, Delsin used his back as a launching pad and was clear of the the landmines, running at Light Speed again with everything he has. "Whoa! That was dirty! Using Bakugo as a stepping stone, Rowe has claimed first again and now all that's left is to reach the finish line but Bakugo sure looks angry and Todoroki is right behind him. This could be anybody's race! But what's that in the sky?....".
While running still, Delsin turned his eye to see Izuku flying down on them with some sort of metal part of the Zero pointers back at the second obstacle. He landed right between Todoroki and Bakugo and used their backs as footings before slamming the part on the ground, where luckily another explosion was and launched himself with great speed, knocking the two away with the blast of the mine.
'Oh shit! Izuku! What the hell?! This same guy I worried about......is a problem?!' The Conduit user thought as he ran for his dear life but Izuku's boost was just too great, even for Delsin's newfound improving speed. He was able to hold it for long but Izuku was nearing his hide. Delsin was right by the finish line when Izuku had shot right beside him and eventually passed him. 'Shit!!!' Delsin thought as he used 5% of Bestial Mode in his legs to boost himself beside Izuku with both of them able to the for first as they both simultaneously touched the finish line.
"And the winners are......DELSIN ROWE AND IZUKU MIDORIYA! WHAT A SHOW! WHAT A SHOW!". The crowd cheered for them as the display of sheer determination to win was something to cheer. Both boys landed face first into the ground, both utterly exhausted from the running they just did. "That was some quick thinking you just did! Man I never ran that hard since I got this power! You made me sweat more than Shoto or Bakugo, Izuku. I should watch out for you in the oncoming events, Izuku!" Delsin said laying down on ground with a tired expression.
"Oh i-it was nothing! You g-give me too much credit!". Delsin stared at Izuku seriously. "Don't think I haven't kept my eye on you Izuku. I know you didn't use your quirk in this whole event. You managed to surpass everyone and the with me for first place, without the usage of your power. That takes serious skill! You should feel proud!" Delsin said as he noticed the other contenders started to enter the stadium. Delsin smiled. "Come on! Let's meet everyone else". He got up and helped Izuku up and walked over to greet everyone
When he past Shoto coming up to greet Uraraka and Tenya, who came 6th and 16th place, he glared heavily at him and Midoriya but mostly Delsin. He glared right back though. He did warm him though. If Shoto wanted a challenge, he'll give him a challenge. He shouldn't be mad that Delsin actually stepped up to the plate and said "if you want this win over me then you're gonna have to work for it bitch!"
Just because Todoroki was the son of Endeavour, the world's 2 greatest hero behind All Might and the very man Delsin didn't like very much, he believed he was automatically better than everyone here. He'll beat him and prove him wrong. He wouldn't let Todoroki win with his right side only. It was an insult to everyone so He hoped the Ice User was ready to feel the heat. Delsin was broken out of his thoughts when he was greeted by Mina, Ojiro, Kirishima and Momo.
"Rowe-san! What was that?! You were like a blur out there! I couldn't even keep my eye on you!" Mina asked. "Yeah! Not even Iida-san was that fast! Just what was it?!" Kirishima said. "Yeah....it was bright and...pretty" Momo stated. 'Like you....' She thought the last bit in her mind. It was starting to become a bit of a regular occurrence for Momo to think about Delsin like this. It was a regular thing for her now to think of her classmate and savior. She thinks about him whenever she's not doing anything else and she even dreams about him at times when she goes to bed.
With some heavy thinking one night in her bed, she came to the conclusion that she liked our very handsome, courageous and Conduit and Bestial user teen, Delsin Rowe. She couldn't get over him, his smile, his laugh, the way he always looked after and treasured his friends. It was all alluring to her and she wanted nothing more than to be with him, especially after hearing his hardships in life, she wanted to be there for him and stand by him. The only problem for her was to get him to notice her. 'Oh and get him away from that Hado woman' she thought bitterly.
"Well, thank you, Momo! It's just a new power up I gained. It's called Neon....that was just one of its kinks, Light Speed. It needs a bit of work but it is what it is!" Delsin smiled and laughed. Midnight meanwhile snapped her whip, gaining the attention from everyone. "You shouldn't be quick to laugh as the next event is decided here! Spin the wheel!". Once again, the wheel U.S. spun around and around until it finally stopped on one thing. "Calvary.....Battle?" Delsin said, confused.
Midnight nodded her head with a smile. "Yes! The Calvary Battle is an event, where participants form into teams of a maximum of 4 people and then got in a horse configuration. The objective is to earn points by swiping other teams' headbands while protecting your own. The value of a team's headband would be the sum of the points each person on the team received based on your performance in the previous competition. The person who ranked last would be worth 5 points, and each rank above that would be worth 5 more points than the previous one, with the exception of 1st place, which was two people this time so I'll divide the total in half so Rowe-kun and Midoriya-kun will be individually worth.....5 million points!"
Once she said that, everyone glared at the top with the intent to kill. Izuku was shriveling up into a ball while Delsin coughed nervously. "Oh wow...... You really want all out, did you Midnight!". The woman smiled and winked at the boy, making him blush. "Yep! I'll be rooting for ya!". Delsin sighed. She turned back to the crowd of students and announced. "The one to wear the headband must be the rider, and they are not allowed to wear it below their neck. If the team lose their headband or crumble as a horse configuration, don't woery, you will not be disqualified. Participants are allowed to use your Quirks, but, should you attack with the malicious intention of harming another participant, you and your team will be forced out of the game! Now you have 5 minutes to form your team! Go!"
End Flashback.
Delsin had been searching for 3 minutes but since he had come first in the last race, no one wanted to team up with him. He first tried to recruit Izuku but then he thought, if he were to team up, they together would be a number one target when their points add up so he left that alone. He wouldn't put Izuku through that pressure. He then tried Kirishima as his quirk would allow him to barge through nearly any defense Todoroki had against him but he slowly backed away from him, trying not to be seen socializing with the number 1 target.
The Conduit user then tried Jiro. Her quirk would allow him to hear anything from any angle so he didn't have to rely so much on Laser Focus. When He approached her, she didn't even try to acknowledge his presence. Delsin's last attempt was Momo as her brains and quirk could literally counter anything that was thrown at them but the girl quickly apologized and said she was already apart of a team and quickly turned to Todoroki, Kaminari and Iida. Shoto glared at him when Yaoyorozu walked up to him.
He sighed as he turned to the other side and saw Bakugo with his team: Kirishima, Mina and Sero. Delsin quickly decided that a heavily targeted team was better than a heavily targeted person with no team so he turn to find Izuku but he saw that the green haired boy had already put together his team which consisted of Tokoyami, Uraraka and that pink haired girl from the Support Course. Delsin sighed as he sunk to his knees. 'My friends are ass!'.
'Well this just separates the boys from the men!' John said. 'Huh? What're trying to say?' He asked. 'The rules stated that a maximum number of teams is 4, correct? It didn't say required numbers. Which means....'. 'I can do this myself.....I don't need a team! But it would be nice to have one though!' Delsin said. 'For what?! For them to slow you down and have you worry about their weaknesses! Just focus on you! You have all the qualifications! You're strong! You're fast! You have great agility and endurance! Just hold on to your points and try and steal a few if you can!' He said.
Delsin sighed as he picked himself up and walked to Midnight. "Excuse me, miss but is it alright if I can enter this competition by myself?" He asked. Midnight shrugged her shoulders. "Knock yourself out, Rowe-kun but you do know this type of event, a team is recommended? This event does get kinda wild". Delsin smiled as he tied a 5 million headband around his forehead. "Ohhhh I want it to be! Wheres the challenge if it wasn't?" He said with a grin which made Nemuri smile.
'God if this kid was only 20! He's the perfect catch! Hado-san you lucky sneak!' She thought before raising her whip about to start the match. Delsin took position in the far end corner. He looked around and saw the contenders glare at him, seeing that he was alone. He saw Todoroki watch him intently as well as Bakugo. He looked at the side to see Shinso watch him as well. Hell the whole stadium was watching him as they never witnessed a solo contender before so they were interested to see how'd he do.
'Oh trust me! Imma kill it! I have to cause a certain somebody is watching me....' He thought, thinking about a certain bluennete. Midnight shot her whip in the air. "Contenders! Get ready!". Delsin got into his runner's stance and stayed in that position. "....get set.....". Delsin charged the neon in his body and spoke to himself. "....I'll win this...Nejire". "GOOOO!!!!!"
