Team DN minus Drake were coming back from a successful quest.
Natsu: Was that an awesome job or what?
Happy: Well the client sure seemed to think so.
Gray: Face it you guys are lucky that i decided to come along.

Three days ago Drake took a S-class quest that would take at least 3 weeks to complete.

The team then began walking back to the guild only to see people staring at them in pity. It wasn't until the saw what happened to the guild that they understood.

The dragon lowered it's head down to her level it's colossal maw right in front of her. In a loud booming voice the dragon talked to the princess.
Dragon: Why are you in my territory human!? BEGONE!!!!!

It was then that realized what the dragon did, he scared away guards to protect them, burned all their weapons including the king's sword, sealed off the only exit back to the castle. The dragon had trapped them trapped them to their deaths.
