Mama Maxine has settled in really well! It seems she's made the cat carrier her queening bed.
She really has the most beautiful golden eyes. (Sorry again about the sideways pictures)
Tonight we actually got to weighing them, Mama Maxine was very sweet but still kept a close eye on us. I didn't get a picture of her on the scale but she's 6 lb, poor lil gal is probably only a year old.. As for the kittens, in addition to weighing them we took a closer look so we could tell them apart.
This one has a white patch on the back paw (133 g)
This one has a white patch on the front paw (126 g)
This one has no patches (138 g)
And this one is gray (129 g)
We tend to weigh new-borns in grams instead of ounces, at least at first, because it's a more precise measurement. It may not seem that important at first but when you weigh practically nothing losing a few grams can be really dangerous.
We probably won't be naming them until after we know their genders, which we won't be able to tell they're about 3-4 weeks old, but when we do start naming them I'll definitely be open to suggestions!
That's about it for tonight. Bit short today but I don't really have a lot to say yet. They don't really do much yet, but trust me when they start moving there will be no stopping them. For now, though, the most they do is meow loudly whenever Mama Maxine leaves them to eat or drink or use the litter box. Anyway, that's all for now! Talk to you soon!
