"Can you set that right there?" I asked holding the phone higher up in my hand. Keith was on the other line, and wanted to see how everything was decorated.
The past month has been so good to me. After the whole dinner party thing, I decided it's best I move out and into my own space. Even though I didn't want to... I called and talked to my mother about it and she said it would be perfectly fine, as long as I got something to protect me. I moved into a condo, closer to college, which is about 20 minutes from Aunt Joanna house.
College has also been good on me. I met some new friends and even doing good in my classes. I haven't really been out since I haven't been feeling good lately.
"Let me see how it look" he mumbled. I flipped the camera showing him the decorations.
"You should have put the 1 and 8 in the center—or a place where you going to take the pictures at" he told me. Did I mention I was finally legal?
"You talked to yo peoples?"
"I talked to a few of em...they act like the phone don't go both ways" he looked like he was in a elevator.
"Hold on, imma call you back" I nodded. I set my phone down, fixing something the people had messed up. I put the 1 and 8 in the middles like Keith suggested. I started feeling nauseous, making me slow down on what I was doing.
A knock on the door startled me because I knew I wasn't expecting nobody. Nobody heard but me, so I slowly walked towards the door, clutching a knife I had grabbed, tight in my hand.
I peeped through the peephole, not seeing nobody. I unlocked the door, slowly opening it. My heart damn near jumped out of my body when Keith jumped out nowhere with a few gift bags.
"Surprise, ma" he smiled down at me as I pulled him into a hug
He smell so good
"Keith What you doin here?" I asked as i stepped to the side, letting him in
"I wanted to come see you, Happy birthday" He said as he sat the gift bags down and turned back around to me
"You gaining weight"
"No I'm not" I shoved him shoulder. He gave me a weird look before looking around
"This nice.. you did all this by yourself" he said, referring to how nice it was furnished. I nodded
"Pretty much" I told him, putting the last of the decorations up.
"I'll be back, I gotta take a piss" I chuckled at the way he said it and nodded. I had just finished looking around seeing everything how I wanted it to be. Just perfect.
Another knock on the door made me smack my lips. Before I could even open the door, The whole gang including Jania and Montana bursted in screaming happy birthday.
"It's been a while" Ben Hugged me and handed me a bag that had "FENDI"on it.
Kd handed me a card, which had money in it. I took the money out, thanking him before reading the inside of the card.
Ugh yo ugly ass finally 18 :|. Even though u look like the ugliest roach in a project house and smell like a subway sandwich that went bad 8 days ago..I love yo dusty ass (As a friend) I don't even know why I'm writing this much because this the reason I dropped out But happy birthday :), Sincerely, The flyest nigga on the planet
Everybody fell out laughing as I read it aloud. Boomer handed me a big ass bag of candy, like the one you'd give a kid and a nice size box that had "shyne jewlers" written on it. I opened the box and I necklace with the words "Slime" Was iced out on it. My mouth dropped at boomer as he chuckled at my reaction
"I can't take this" I tried to give it back to him but he shoved my hand
"Nah shorty, it's yours"
"I was lyin anyway" I told him, placing it back I the box and setting it on the nearest table.
Three stepped up and gave me a few things: A Necklace from the same place which had my name written on it, A Rolex and a card with money in it. Jania gave me some shopping bags from "PINK" & "VICTORIA SECRET" and I thanked her. Kentrell and Montana stepped from behind Jania and gave me a friendly hug, Handing me a huge ass bag which was damn near heavier than me. I smacked my lips when they started geeking, once I started struggling.
"Thank y'all so much.. I-"
"Hey, i sat the rest of your stuff back there. I was w-" Keith paused once he saw them. The whole gang cut their eyes at him making me roll my eyes and go over to grab his hand, leading him behind me
"Y'all, This is Keith, Keith this is—kentrell—boomer—three—kd—Jania—and Montana" I said in one breath. He nodded as they continued to glare at him. I cut the silence, considering the tension got thick.
"Anyway, everybody should be here soon.. so y'all can make y'all selves comfortable" I told them. Kd stanked face Keith as he walked by him.
"Betta get yo potnas" he warned as I grabbed a piece of candy out of the bag. I turned around to him, giving him a playful look but he was serious.
"Look, not tonight—Bruh it's supposed to be my birthday"
"Ain did shit—yet"
"Don't do shit at all. I'll make sure they keep a distance"
"Coo" the door bursted open. Lulu and Kingston came In with actual gifts that was wrapped up, and a big ass smile on their faces.
"Happy birthday bitch" she set them down on the table before reaching and grabbing a piece of candy. Kingston shook his head at her before looking at me
"Finally legal—witcho ugly ass" He laughed as I mushed his head. He set the gifts down as kd and them waved him over. Lulu looked at me, chewing on a sour patch kid
"How you been?"
"I've been—good. How y'all been"
"Same ole same ole.. cant wait til I get up outta there" she chuckled. I shook my head, laughing with her
"It's coming soon" She Agreed with me.
"Jeez, what have you been eating?" She scanned my body as I looked down at it shrugging.
"Nothing. I get a weird feeling every time I eat something"
"You probably have a stomach virus" She suggested. I shrugged again, who knows
A knock on the door made me smack my lips again. I opened it and in came a couples of friends i met college
"Happy birthday!" They all chorused. I thanked them, giving them hugs. I introduced them to lulu and she seemed to like them. A while later, everybody else started popping up. I wasn't going to say it was packed, but It was a decent amount of people here, and everything was going smooth. It was good until a crowd surrounded the kitchen area. I pushed passed the people seeing The gang all arguing with Keith while Montana tried holding them back.
"What's going on?" I yelled to Montana but he shook his head at me. I tried grabbing Keith arm but he snatched away from me. It wasn't long until Kd jumped on Keith and started punching him. I'm not gone kap like Keith was throwing them bitches back but By then three had jumped in. Montana was struggling trying to pull kd off him, so I went over, trying to pry kd off. Lights was flashing everywhere, considering everybody had their phones out.
I groaned in pain once I got shoved onto the ground, falling face down. A sharp pain was sent down my back, and lower abdomen. Montana had finally gotten kd and three off Keith
"Cici? Come on, Get up" One of my friends, Krystal came and got me. I stood up, groaning once more again. I looked around seeing cameras and Montana trying to block them.
