The two meander through the excited crowd, and Hoseok inhales deeply as soon as he's away from the heat and alcohol of the venue. He can vaguely make out people laughing in the distance and tourists walking around under the dim lighting provided by both lampposts and businesses that are still open. The energy is Mexico is very different from that of Korea, Hoseok thinks. He wonders if Yoongi would like it here. He tries to imagine Yoongi dancing to reggae and can't help the puff of laughter that escapes his lips.
"You're finally laughing again," Hansol says casually once they are a short distance away from the venue, where they can still hear the live music playing in the background.
"Hmm?" Hoseok hums through his nose in question as he glances at the other man.
"You seemed a bit nervous ever since leaving Seoul, so I was getting worried."
"Oh....really?"
"Yeah. I dunno, you seemed a bit...tense, I guess. And every time you got on a plane, you were freaking out, so I was getting worried that you might pass out during this tour."
Hoseok only laughs nervously, shoving his hands into his pockets. His fingers touch his phone, and he instinctively pulls it out to check if Yoongi has responded to his messages yet. He sulks when he sees that the officer hasn't even read them yet.
"It must be nice," Hansol begins softly, his eyes staring off into a group of guys cheering over something.
"Hmm?"
"To be in that kind of a relationship," he continues, glancing at Hoseok. "The kind you have with your boyfriend."
"Oh....It is, I guess," Hoseok answers sheepishly, struggling to not break into a goofy smile at the thought of his boyfriend. "He's such a good guy. I'm lucky to have him in my life."
"And I think he's lucky to have you."
"Pfft, please. I'm always causing trouble. It's a miracle he puts up with me," Hoseok answers, laughing at the memory of just how much shit Yoongi had to put up with until the curse was broken.
"I wouldn't say that," Hansol says softly, barely loudly enough for the other man to hear. "Anyone would be extremely lucky you have you, Jung Hoseok."
"...Thank you? I mean, that's really nice of you," Hoseok replies while scratching the back of his head with a shy smile. "Well, if you maybe lower your standards a little..." he continues with a grin, remembering how other team members had complained that Hansol only remained single by choice and that people were lining up to get a piece of the handsome man.
"Ugh. Don't listen to Soonyoung. He talks out of his ass half the time."
"You're telling me that of all the people who've shown interest, you don't like any of them?"
"People aren't lining up. I'm so single, it's not even funny," Hansol answers with a chuckle, and Hoseok finds himself reciprocating.
"What happened to...you know, that guy you were seeing?"
"We weren't exactly in a relationship. I was in love with him, but...it was one-sided. Your typical sob story, really."
"Oh...do you still love him?"
"Nah. I moved on. It took me a while, but I'm over it now. Plus, I feel like this year might bring me good news."
"Yeah?"
"Yup. Anyway, we should get back before they send a search party. Don't want them thinking we've been kidnapped or something."

Jungkook looks away from the TV screen in front of him to face Wonwoo, who is sitting next to him. The skinny man has his knees drawn to his chest and his thin arms wrapped around them, and the officer almost wants to ask why the man is sitting so uncomfortably. Jimin is taking a shower, which left the two men to stick around the living room to watch TV in mutual silence. Jungkook doesn't make any effort to engage in small talk, and Wonwoo seems satisfied with being left alone.
"For what?" Jungkook asks, reaching for the remote lying besides him. There is nothing interesting happening on the news, which means he's going to now have to find something funny to watch to keep himself occupied until Jimin is back out of the shower.
"For letting me stay here for a while," Wonwoo explains, scratching his head with his good hand. "The doc said I shouldn't be in this thing for too long," he continues, lifting his right arm up to show his arm cast.
"Don't worry about it," Jungkook replies with a shrug. "So how are things going for you guys at the academy?" he asks, suddenly feeling the need to at least ask. Wonwoo is clearly trying to be nice, and now he sort of feels like an asshole for basically giving the man a stink eye every time Jimin tried to chopstick and spoon feed the quiet man. Jungkook tells himself that he has to be a grownup about the current living arrangement. Afterall, it's not like Wonwoo wanted to hurt himself, and it's probably uncomfortable for the other man too. He can be mature about this. For Jimin.
Plus, he feels like this may be a good opportunity for him to ask about how Jimin is doing at the academy. His boyfriend hadn't said much about the place, only answering vaguely when the officer asked, and Jungkook wants to make sure that Jimin is having a good time. He knows that Jimin is not the kind to talk about every little thing that is going on in his life, but Jungkook would be lying if he said he's slightly disappointed every time Jimin just answers "it's good" before moving onto something else.
"He's doing fine. He did well on his exams and is one of the best in training," Wonwoo lies, immediately understanding the other man's intention. Jimin had been quite adamant about not letting his bullying be known, and Wonwoo had agreed to it. Jungkook fixes the other man a long, hard stare before focusing back on the screen in front of him.
"I see...well, if you have any questions about you know, police stuff, you can always ask me," the officer offers instead of prying, hoping that it might help Wonwoo open up to him when it comes to Jimin. He can't brush off the feeling that both Jimin and Wonwoo are hiding something from him. He doesn't like it, but he also understands that Wonwoo's loyalty probably lies with Jimin and not him.
"I will. Thank you."
They fall back into silence again as the two remain on the couch, staring ahead at the screen in front of them. It's only broken when Jimin is found walking into the living room, dressed in a pair of shorts and a tee, with a towel slung around his neck.
"Wonwoo, the shower is all yours," Jimin announces chirpily, looking to be content that the two men in front of them are "getting along." He didn't miss the scrutinizing glances his boyfriend was throwing at his friend, and he had been hoping that they will get along for the sake of the duration of their cohabitation.
"Thanks," Wonwoo says slowly before peeling himself off the couch and heading towards the bathroom. Once Jimin hears the familiar click of the door closing shut, he crawls on top of the officer, effectively straddling him.
"Wonwoo isn't so bad, right?" Jimin begins with a sultry grin, dipping his head down to plant a chaste kiss on Jungkook's nose. The officer drops his phone onto the couch before wrapping his arms around the smaller man's waist to bring him in closer.
"Fine. He's not that bad."
"Thanks again, Kookie," Jimin purrs, nuzzling the other man's neck with his nose. Jungkook lets out a small moan before tightening his hold of his boyfriend.
"You're making things really difficult for me, Jimin. I just hate that we won't be able to have- oh wait, we can be quiet, right? We can keep it-"
"Jeon Jungkook. No. Just a few days," Jimin interrupts, tapping the other man on his nose playfully.
'You're killing me here. I should've thought about this. Shit," Jungkook laments, squeezing his eyes tightly at his incredibly short foresight.
"You're so dramatic," Jimin says with a low chuckle. "I promise to make up for it."
"Are you finally going to let me handcuff you?"
"Nope. I'm going to handcuff you."
"Oh. Damn."
"Shoot, I forgot, I'm supposed to help Wonwoo wash his hair,"
