The train was approaching.
He came up the stairs with everything in his arms.
I chuckle as he bows his head at me and runs into the train.
Late again?!
Once the train leaves, I realize he dropped his portfolio.
Oh no.
Does he need it for school??
I debate whether or not I should go get it.
Don't be stupid!
I nod and run down the stairs and have to go to the other side of the platform.
I make it and pick up his portfolio.
I'll give it to him in the afternoon.
As I walk back over to my platform, I can't help but want to peak into his artwork.
I have a seat and start flipping through it.
It's a mix of things.
I was shocked, I thought it would be just sketches.
It was photographs, collages, sketches, paintings, almost everything.
He was so skilled.
I could only draw stick figures.
As I flipped through, mostly landscapes and objects. I came across one final photograph.
Except it couldn't have been a photograph.
Because I remember this day.
It was the day I had the chocolate on my upper lip.
He had drawn it entirely by colored pencils but it was such high quality I mistook it for a photograph.
It was me holding my cup of hot chocolate while smiling,the whipped cream on my upper lip.
"Ah, you caught me."
I nearly jump in my seat and look up.
Taehyung was standing over me.
Scattered, I try and close the portfolio to hand back to him.
"S-sorry!"
He smiles and takes it.
"Shouldn't I be the one who's sorry?"
I tilt my head. He takes his bag off and has a seat right next to me.
"You arent going to be late for school?"
He shakes his head. "I called my professor and told him my situation."
I nod. Strange how the conversation felt like we've known each other forever. Observing someone for 8 months does that to you.
"You're amazing by the way," I compliment him after finding my voice.
He ducks his head down as he smiles.
"I mean you barely saw me for a few seconds that day and you quickly drew that-"
I got lost in his eyes.
As cheesy as that sounds, he interrupted me with the conversation of his eyes.
"I didn't draw that well from a few minutes of studying your face."
"Then...?"
The sound of my train caused us to break eye contact.
"Don't miss your train. I'll see you tomorrow. I have to pick up my siblings after school so I wont be on the bus."
I nod and get up.
Just tell me to miss my train and I will.
He smiles at me, "Think about what I've said okay?"
The train announces the doors are closing and I quickly jump inside.
Taehyung makes his way down the platform.
Think about what he said?
That he didnt draw me just by looking at me for a few minutes?
Has he been watching me just as long as I have been watching him?
