Dylan and Sam sat down at the small Italian restaurant and waited for their menus to come.
"You don't have to tell me if it upsets you. I just want to know what happened" Dylan tilted his head
"As soon as it happened I stopped it. He was right, I was in his bunk. But after I said I didn't want to be with him" Sam confessed
"Ok, I'm not going to be mad if your honest with me" Dylan stared sincerely
"Thank you. I thought about you after, how I missed you. That's why I took an early exit from the army and I came back." Sam said
"I missed you too. Now I'll be honest with you, I became an alcoholic when you left" Dylan admitted
"Really?" Sam was shocked
"Yeah, that's why I never went to the pub with the staff and I didn't drink until that night with the singing" Dylan said
"You call that singing?" Sam laughed
"Something like that anyway" Dylan grinned
"You sounded like you were a posh town crier" Sam laughed again
The waiter with the menus arrived and the pair ordered. Dylan had spaghetti bolognese and Sam had a pizza.
It wasn't long until their food came and they ate it.
"Look Dylan, I feel so bad. What I put you through before and now, I hate myself for it" Sam said
"Sam, don't do that to yourself. Honestly, I'd rather forget about it" Dylan put his hand on hers
"Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Sam frowned
"Yes, actually. But your going to have to find out what it is at home" Dylan teased
They paid for the meal and went back to the harbour. As soon as Sam got in she begged Dylan to tell her what she could do.
"So, what is it Dylan?" Sam raised an eyebrow and tilted her head
"To make it up to me? Hmm..." Dylan grinned
"Tell me Dylan!" Sam pleaded
"You could marry me? Again." Dylan got down on one knee
"Are you serious?" Sam questioned
"Deadly" Dylan said, still on one knee
"Of course I'll marry you, again" Sam laughed
"I haven't got a ring yet but I realised when we went for a walk, this is what I want" Dylan got up
Sam put he hands on Dylan's face and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly whilst he kissed her back.
