One Year Later
Tonight was the night. It had been a year now since I had seen Makall and I was to leave to Midgard with Thor, as promised. By all things secrete it hurt waiting for the days, weeks, and months pass by so slowly. Tonight I'd awake Thor and have him accompany me at the Bifrost to return to Midgard for two reasons, with one ultimate outcome. It was the perfect plan.
Besides, I wasn't sure I could last much longer waiting to find her. The only items I had left of her were a locket I brought for her the second month of the Odinsleep and a small film item Heimdall had granted me of my time with Makall... watching the reels of moving pictures of us together made my heart swell with love but shatter only when it was finished...
Silently, after using a little magic to pack my few belongings I wanted to take and send to Earth without using the Bifrost, I slipped into Thor and Lady Jane’s bed chamber, walking over to Thor’s side and shaking his shoulder gently.
“Brother…” I whispered softly, only causing Thor to grumble in his rest. I rolled my eyes in annoyance when I repeated the method, only to fail constantly. I concluded this would not work so I made a second attempt.
“Thor, Jane has decided to return to Midgard.” I whispered softly, instantly causing him to sit-up and smack me in the face with his arm. I instantly collapsed to the floor upon impact, groaning from the slight pain on the right side of my head.
Thor looked to Jane before getting out of bed and helping me up. “I’m sorry brother… you should know better than to wake a man like that."
“You fool you don’t swing at a person when they wake you you!” I replied, a bit frustrated, as I smacked his hand away. Thor chuckled and extended his large hand to me again with an apologetic smile. Sighing, I gave in and took hold of his hand, being pulled to my feet rather quickly.
Thor chuckled quietly as Jane turned and stretched, obviously awakening because of our lack of common sense to be quiet. “Thor, why are you up in the middle of the…” Jane’s voice trailed off as she sat up and gave us both a questioning look with tired eyes. I bowed my head a bit before looking back to my sister, by certain means.
“My apologies Lady Jane. I was just here to have my brother to accompany me with something I am doing.” Thor left to the closet to change, sadly leaving me to occupy the woman.
Jane got out of bed, wrapping a silken robe over her shoulders before walking to the crib that resided next to the bed, looking over the sleeping child within' it.
I must say I would not have guessed that Thor and Jane could produce such a relatively large child. After the child’s birth, Thor and Jane settled on the name Alvis, meaning all-wise. It had been a few days before the boy was named for Jane wanted a mortal name but Thor wanted something more ‘god-like’, so he put it. Alvis was the closest name they could come to that sounded alright in both realms.
Now I was curious of how Makall and my child were, for I hadn’t heard anything from her since she had left. My life has been slowly more depressing and I had slipped back into my old ways, I tried to warn Odin and Frigg but they just did not listen. Heimdall claimed he could see Makall, but refused to tell me of her well being. Leaving me with only a film of us together.
“So then, Loki. What such events do you and Thor attend before sun rise?” Jane’s voice interrupted my thoughts. It was soft and rather comforting.
“Come again?”
“You are a talented liar Loki but you understand it doesn’t work on me, don't you?” Jane smiled as she turned to me and shrugged, continuing when I had nothing to retort her statement. “I know you are going back to see Makall.” Her face lit up as Thor came back into the area we were standing.
“What do you...” I began but was cut off.
“Please, Thor is very easy to break when he doesn’t get what he wants.” She winked to Thor as he stood by my side.
He laughed a little and bowed to her. “Only when it comes to you my darling.”
“I do hope you have a plan when the Allfather finds out you are gone.” Thor and I looked back to one another. “You haven’t thought of that have you?” She asked.
“No, we have. But once our deed is done, he will just have to live with the fact that I won’t be coming back. We must finish our task at hand first before we even go to find Makall.” I grinned as Thor and I turned and made our way to the golden doors that led to the outside corridor.
It took a moment for Jane to register what I meant before she ran over to us, grabbing my upper arm firmly. “You wouldn’t.”
“I would.” Grinning, I removed her hand from my arm. “It is the only way.”
Jane looked to Thor then me, shaking her head. “The bastard deserves what is coming to him.” At her own words, a small smile came to her lips. An encouraging smile at that.
“Well, he should have never broken Makall the way he had. Now I’ll be doing all a favor.” With that, Thor and I were off down the hall.

“Do you believe he will allow us to go through?” I asked Thor as we resided a good ways away from the Bifrost where Heimdall was.
“I believe he will.” Thor smiled confidently as we were mounted atop our horses. He began riding forward at a steady pace, following by his side until we stopped before Heimdall at the entrance to the Bifrost with his back straight and shoulders squared.
We dismounted our horses and walked towards Heimdall with no words for a few moments.
“Heimdall, you must allow us to go by.” Thor stated as he began to walk past Heimdall, who stopped Thor’s motions by extending his arm in front of my brother.
“Why do wish to pass, son of Odin?”
“For Loki’s sake.” Thor’s voice was softer, more of a pleading tone.
“Loki, you have come to see the girl, have you not?” Heimdall’s faint eyes looked to me.
“Yes, I have.” He chuckled softly at my response then turned, walking into the Bifrost and up the steps. I was confused. Had he been expecting this?
“I have wondered when you would come to finally go to her.” It seemed as if Heimdall was attempting to make small talk with myself and Thor as we entered the newly rebuilt structure, much larger than before.
“How did you know?” I cautiously asked.
“I am the gate keeper, I see all. She has missed you terribly, much more than usual recently and I must say I knew you would be feeling her pain. I shall send you to New York City where Stark Towers is located. She will be there.”
“Wait!” Thor shouted before Heimdall could place the blade into the slot to activate the Bifrost. Hemidall's eyes wandered over to us curiously.
“We are not going to Lady Makall just yet.” I finished for my brother.
I walked up the steps to Hemidall, Thor following my lead. “We need to find a man by the name of Randy Heart first.”
Hemidall grinned towards us both. "As you wish."
“Why are you being so kind?” I bluntly stated. "To me of all."
I was surprised at how instant his response was. “Because I know what it is like to lose your lover. The pains that follow. Now, enough of this talk. I shall send you before the Allfather is aware of your doings.” Heimdall nodded to us both and placed the two handed gold blade into the lock, turning it.
“I will honor my sworn oath to protect this realm as its gatekeeper.” Hemidall began as the Bifrost came to life. “If your return threatens the safety of Asgard, it shall remain closed to you and you will be left in Midgard.”
With Heimdall’s words, we nodded and were pulled into the portal, all going bright before my eyes as we soared through the stars. There was no turning away now.
