What have we become? We let home get messy. The bookshelves are piled with silence, the floor is littered with broken promises and debris of care. The walls are shaking. The walls are shaking. Don't let them crumble. Please.
I want home. I want to get to converting it into a guesthouse. To have a little room to unpack 2-3 joys and 4-5 sorrows every once in a while. But the structure is in shambles. And I haven't seen the bones of this house for what feels like forever.
At first, the mess was just growing up, then it was growing in, now its growing apart. The potted plants in the windows seem to give out more carbon dioxide than oxygen now; basically I can't breathe. The walls are shaking. The walls are shaking.
Come with me to the basement one last time. Find lost treasures. Lose found treasures.
We can do with some new paint here. But I think I still want the same colours. Do you?
