Chapter 20
{Lucy P.O.V.}
“Honey, why are you crying? Let me drive you home.” My mom said.
I got in the passenger side door and felt really dumb because of how much I was crying.
“What happened, Lucy?” my mom asked concerned.
“I messed up big time.” I said in between sobs.
“Tell me.” She said in a soft tone.
I told her everything that happened. Apart from the kidnapping and Jackson hitting me.
“Your brother and his big mouth.” She mumbled after I finished.
“Tell me about it.”
“I’m going to have a little talk with him later about this.”
I nodded my head a looked out the window at the landscape.
“Do you think Stiles will get over this?” I asked.
“He has had a thing for you ever since you were little, I’m pretty sure he isn’t going to give up on you just because you made one mistake.”

{Stiles P.O.V.}
I saw Scott come out his front door and was expecting Lucy to follow after but she didn’t.
“Where’s Lucy?” I asked when he got in.
“Mom told me not to bother her.” He said.
“She’s skipping? That’s not like her.”
Scott shrugged his shoulders.
The rest of the day went by painstakingly slow. I really, really wanted to see Lucy. Forget seeing her, I just want to hug and kiss her and tell her it’s going to be okay.
I’m such a chick. I’m turning into a chick. Cool.
“You coming to lacrosse practice?” I heard Danny yell from across the hallway.
“Might as well.” I sighed.
I don’t know why I even bothered going to practice, I never got to play.
--
“Are you going to come in?” Scott asked.
“I don’t think Lucy wants to see me.” I said, sadly.
“Are you kidding me?”
“No?”
“Of course she wants to see you!”
I mumbled something under my breath and walked inside with Scott.
We plopped down on the couch and started watching some baseball game.
“Do you think she still has feelings for Jackson?” I suddenly asked.
“No.” Scott said without looking away from the TV.
“Why?”
“The way she looks and acts around you, it’s different than how she acted around Jackson.”
“Hm.” Was all I said.
We whipped around when an object fell from behind us. There stood Lucy with a look on her face like she had been caught, which she had.
“What are you doing?” Scott questioned.
“Uh, um.” She said then ran up the stairs.
Scott shook his head and returned his attention back to the television.
I stood up and made my way up the stairs.
“Good luck.” Scott sang.
I smiled then continued.
I lightly knocked on her door and heard some shuffling then her petite voice say, “Come in.”
“Hey.”
She flushed then said, “What are you doing here?”
I cautiously walked in and replied, “Just wanted to talk.”
She patted the seat beside her and I sat.
“Want to know the truth?”
“Hm?”
“I didn’t come here to talk. I just wanted to see you.”
She blushed bright red and looked at the floor.
I sighed then asked, “I know you didn’t mean to.”
“I really didn’t. I guess it’s too late though.”
I rubbed my thumb across her cheek then kissed her gently.
“Do you want to try again?” She whispered.
“I think we should take it slow, we rushed into things and look where that got us.”
“I couldn’t agree more.”
She smiled a genuine smile.
“Friends?” She said with a huge smile.
“Yeah, for now.” I said while smiling.
