Peter slowly eases the tick out of his knee, pulling through the pain. Once it's out of his knee, he kills it and walks to his purified water. When he gets there, he washes the area as best he can without soap and sits down. He breathes a sigh of relief.
By this time, it's getting pretty late. Peter builds he fire and boils more water. Then, when he sets the pot aside, he goes to sleep.
In the morning, he tends to the fire then fishes. Then he checks the fire then fishes again. His days pass this ways for about two weeks. The whole time, Peter is very careful to avoid bears, ticks, and crocodiles.
However, he doesn't think about avoiding diarrhea. One day a few weeks after the tick incident, Peter eats some bad fish that tears his stomach apart. He goes into the woods to relieve himself and needs a leaf to use for toilet paper. He decided to "go" a little further away from camp than usual to avoid the smell, so the plants in the area were slightly different. Peter is no botanist.
