Chapter One - The Abandoned Castle
As I looked ahead, in search of people, I found something much more unrealistic. It looked like a castle straight from a fairy tale book. It looked like the castle that the evil queen inhabited in the fairy tales. Fog covered the grounds of the castle and the windows were gray with age and dirt,
Looking around, I didn't see anyone and my curiosity got the best of me. So like the idiot I was, I walked up the large steps to the tall and wide wooden doors. I watched as my hand went and pulled at the wolf shaped knocker and letting it drop. It banged three times. The large door creaked open with a moan and I felt as my feet moved forward without my permission. It was like I was drawn. I couldn't walk away even if I tried.
The interior of the first hallway looked ancient. The carpet covering the floor was thick and musty. I bet if I looked back I would see dust coming up from where my feet stepped.
"Hello!"
"Hello, is anyone here?"
I was shouting, completely unaware of the dangers that could be in this ancient palace. On both my sides there were open doorways that lead to unlit rooms. in front of me was a grand staircase . The staircase split into two in the top, one going to the left the other to the right.
From the looks of it, color was rare. So seeing a red scarf on the ground surprised me to no end. I picked it up and it looked familiar. I Looked at the tag and saw that it had my father's name sewn on it.
"DADDY!" I yelled in excitement, "Daddy, are you here?"
"Anna.." a voice whispered. The owner of the voice sounded faint and weak. I followed it. It led me to a door that looked like it was left open by accident.
"Anna, I'm down here..."
Feeling joy and excitement I ran down the steps, only to find that my joy and excitement was for nothing. I was in a dungeon, looking at my father, who had his hands raised and cuffed above his head.
"Oh, daddy..." I sighed, "What happened?"
Just as my father was going to answer I heard a roar that sounded as if it belonged to a giant who found out his most prized possession had been stolen.
