"Dan, I don't think you should hold your phone that close to your eyes. You'll get a headache..."

Just as Phil had said, Dan was sitting intently on the couch, his phone practically pressed against his face as he typed out a speedy response to (Y/N)

MSG to (Y/N)

Our flat, an hour? We'll tell you on the way cause we honestly have no idea what we're doing, lol

Dan gulped nervously, trying to decide whether or not his friendly approach was a little too casual with (Y/N), wondering if she would be weirded out by him asking her to hangout with them so soon after yesterday. The three bouncing dots in the corner of his screen hovered above the phone's keyboard, causing him to hold his breath as he waited for a response.

MSG from (Y/N)

Sounds good. And bring a coat this time you doofus!

Dan exhaled, an unknown tension beginning to release from his hunched shoulders. For the first time since he started texting her, he slowly dragged the phone away from his face, blinking haphazardly as he adjusted his vision to the outside world surrounding him.

Phil quirked his eyebrows up curiously. "What's with that look?"

"Hmm? What are you talking about?"

The raven haired man rolled his eyes, absentmindedly playing around with his morning quiff. "That look, the one you have right now. First you were freaking out over sending her a stupid video, then 10 seconds later you're sitting on the couch with your eyes glued to your phone, sniggering and acting like an excited school girl." He chuckled, eyeing Dan teasingly. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say (Y/N) texted you back?"

Dan scoffed loudly, turning his head away from Phil as he scowled. "What's that supposed to mean, huh?" He paused, inwardly sighing as he gave into his friend's meddling tone. "And yes, for your information she did text me back. I... I asked her if she wanted to come around town with us again today."

Phil's eyes lit up with excitement, his blue orbs sparkling at the news. He jumped up from his spot on the couch, hopping over to Dan like an enthusiastic rabbit. "Really? Did she say yes?"

Dan nodded, instinctively holding his phone closer to his chest. He couldn't help but crack a small smile with how happy Phil was. He watched as his friend quickly chatted up a storm with himself, wondering out loud where they could go today and what they could show her around town. Leave it to Phil to get excited over something like this.

Yet even though he was smiling at Phil, Dan couldn't deny that (Y/N) agreeing to hangout also contributed to his goofy grin. Because of this, he quickly tried to wipe it off his face, going for a more casual look as he got up from the couch. "Yeah, and I told her to meet us here in an hour. I'm going to get ready, okay? You need to as well, so don't get distracted Phil!"

A sassy eye roll greeted Dan, followed by a playful, sarcastic remark. "Psh, I'm not the one who takes forever to get ready in the mornings. We're lucky to be out of the flat 30 mins after we're supposed to leave!"

"Oh whatever!" Dan tried to make his words as saucy as possible, yet it was hard to hide the true amusement underneath. "If you plan on keeping that quiff for the day, it'll take us even longer to get ready."

"Hey, I think it quite suits me!"

"Then go get ready so you'll have time to show it off!"

Phil nodded quickly, sprinting towards their bathroom with hasty abandon. Dan could hear the faint sound of running water once his flatmate closed the door, the shower curtain rustling as he hopped in to freshen up. Dan sighed to himself, praying that Phil wouldn't take so long getting ready. In the meantime, the brunette decided to pick out his clothes for the day, hoisting himself up from the couch as he walked towards his room.

He shuffled through his wardrobe, mindlessly mumbling to himself as he sifted through many possible options. What shade of black would he wear today? They were all so similar, yet each one had its own individual charm in his opinion. One could never be to cautious when choosing their outfit for the day, especially when he was supposed to be showing a girl around town.

But of course that had nothing to do with his choice of clothes today. Nope, causal was the way to go. Yep, just as you do with any person.

Yep, nothing special about it

Dan paused, his mind drawing a blank as he stood motionless in front of his wardrobe.

Why am I overthinking this so much?

The level of uncertainty he found himself dealing with was baffling to say the least; usually he had no troubles picking out his outfit for the day. He had always known what to wear, even if it seemed a little daft at first. He had always managed to sport whatever fashion he pleased, so why was he hesitant now?

The squeak of the shower nozzle signaled the end of Phil's time in the bathroom, the door creaking open as he rushed to reach his bedroom before anyone could see him in a revealing towel. Dan shook his head in amusement, he had probably forgotten to bring cloths with him once again. Phil should know better by now, seeing as the last time this happened he unknowingly walked into the living room half naked in front of some of their friends. The embarrassment on Phil's face was enough to send the whole room into a fit of giggles at his unfortunate predicament, his featured engulfed in a deep cherry red flush.

Checking his phone, Dan felt a wave of panic rush through him at how late it was getting before (Y/N) got here. He cursed under his breath, grabbing a handful of his clothes before hastily jogging into the restroom. Once he had closed the door, he quickly checked the pile of random clothes he had gathered, thankful that his attire was of an acceptable level.

Dan snatched a fistful of towels before hopping behind the curtains, taking one of the quickest showers he had ever attempted in his life. Like a flash of lightning he was already out, furiously drying his damp locks as he surveyed himself in the mirror. At this rate, he would be ready in at least a few minutes. With a content smirk, he continued drying his hair, running his fingers through some wild tangles as he toyed with his chestnut strands. Thank God he no longer straightened his hair or else he'd be here for hours!

The soft knock of Phil's knuckle hitting the door sounded in Dan's ear. "Sorry to bug you, but could I just do my hair real quick?"

Dan rolled his eyes, swiftly slipping on his clothes before yelling out permission to enter. "Yeah, sure. Come in."

Phil opened the door cautiously, his head low. "Sorry, I know you're about to get in, but I just need to- Wait, did you already shower?!"

Dan kept his eyes on the mirror, silently giggling at how bewildered Phil looked. He kept his face close to the reflective glass as he continued to style his hair. "Yep, told you it wouldn't be me keeping us from being on time." He snorted quietly at how offended his friend looked, the steam from his nose fogging up his space on the mirror. He huffed in annoyance, lifting his head so he could see from a different spot.

"It didn't even take me that long to put on my clothes either. Did you ingest a speed potion or something?"

"Nope, I'm just that good."

Phil smirked playfully, gently shoving Dan to the side as he tried to claim a spot in front of the mirror. "Okay, at least give me some space to dry my hair. You're practically done!"

Dan looked up to take in the sopping wet appearance of Phil's hair, his raven black stands hanging heavily as small drops of water gathered at the ends. Dan quirked his eyebrows curiously, wondering how it was still that wet. He checked the time on his phone, hissing lightly at the approaching deadline. "Ah, alright. You need it more than I do anyways. I'll wait near the door incase (Y/N) decides to show up early."

His friend merely nodded, his attention engulfed by the identical image of himself on the glass. Dan gathered his wet towels and hung them on the door before exiting the room, the sudden steamless air sending a small shiver down his spine. Seeing as there wasn't much else to do at the moment, he lazily plopped himself on the couch, sprawling himself across the cushions as he looked at his phone.

There hadn't been any texts from (Y/N) while he was showering, a slight feeling of disappointment settling in his chest. He pushed the pressure aside for the time being, having no time for such uncalled emotions. Why was he even feeling disappointment? Dan was at a loss as to why he was experiencing all these weird mood fluctuations; leftover remnants from the cold a few days ago?

Speaking of cold, Dan looked over to their coat closet, his eyes resting on the thick jacket he should've been wearing yesterday. He let out a puff of stubborness as he recalled yesterday's events and how he was forced to borrow (Y/N)'s coat. In his defense, it didn't seem that cold at first glance, he just thought everyone was being a little dramatic when it came to the weather.

This time he would be wearing his coat, otherwise he'd be getting an earful from both Phil and (Y/N). But then again, he honestly didn't mind it when he wore her coat; it was a nice fit and had a design akin to his dark driven aesthetic. To put if simply, he wouldn't mind being stuck with that jacket again. Plus it didn't hurt that it reminded him of (Y/N) when he wore it, it even had a faint fragrance of h-

Alright you fuking weirdo, put on your coat and stop with these pervy thoughts. Oh my God, what the fuck is wrong with me?!

With heated cheeks, Dan rushed to the closet and wrapped himself in the warmth of his own jacket, the familiar scent of his flat distracting him from his absurd thoughts. He huddled himself further into the fabric just as Phil walked into the living room, his eyebrows quirked upwards in utter confusion, his head tilted to the side slightly. "Uh, you alright there Dan?"

Dan felt pure embarrassment rush through his veins, his face quickly becoming a design of different red tones. "I'm fine!" he spat harshly, nuzzling into the coat more. "J-just cold..."

Phil lightly brushed his quiff backwards, trying to understand his friends sudden mood swing. "Uhm... alright. I'll make sure to turn the heat up then. Say, what time was she supposed to be here?"

"O-oh, she should be here right about n-"

The doorbell rang; both boys stood still as their eyes locked with the door. Neither of them moved for quite some time before a shy knock brushed against the door, an even more hesitant one followed suite.

"I'll get it!" They yelled in unison, making a mad, absurdly clumsy dash towards the door. They managed to reach the door at the same time, their hands slamming into each other as they struggled to turn the doorknob.

"Phil, move out of the way, will you?!"

"Ow, Dan! You scratched my knuckle!"

"So? Not my fault you put your hand in front of mine!"

"How rude!"

"Phi- Holy fucking shit..." Dan pried Phil's hand away from the knob, forcefully pulling it open without a second thought. Suddenly, an unknown weight came barreling towards the duo, knocking the two of them over. Dan let out a loud gasp, while Phil cried out in a less than manly screech.

The impact to the ground was hard and sudden, the air being momentarily knocked out from Dan's lungs. He sputtered out a gasp, trying to make sense of what just happened. He let out a pained groan, squinting as he rubbing the spot where his head had hit the ground. He blinked slowly, the previously fuzzy figure sprawled out on top of him coming into view.

She let out a similar goran, hissing small curses as she tried to recover from the pain of falling onto the two brits. She seemed to have not noticed what had happened just yet, her face still contorted with confusion. "Ow... Shit, that fucking hurt..." She looked upwards, blinking several times before she locked eyes with Dan, her luminous gaze becoming wide as she pieced together what had just happened.

Dan's eyes stayed locked with her's, feeling like he was being drawn in. Suddenly, it hit him like a tonne of bricks. Looking to the side, then to the girl on top of him, he broke out into the most unholy blush that had ever consumed him; by the looks of it, (Y/N) was feeling the same effects too.

(Y/N) jumped off of the two, tumbling backwards in the most ungrateful way possible. Dan on the other hand, scooted back against the floor as he clutched his chest tightly, the rapid fire beats threatening to tear a hole in his chest. Because of the coat he was wearing, he was unable to escape the unbearable heat that had plagued him right now; what an absolute shit show.

"(Y/N), is that you?"

Phil was the first to speak up, the downed man massaging his elbow, presumably the part of his body that he landed on during the impact. A small, timid reply followed soon after, her voice clearly wavering with nervousness.

"Y-yeah! It's me; I'm so so SO sorry that I knocked you over! I was just leaning on the door when you guys didn't answer. I thought that maybe you two had left without me." She let out a small chuckle, another set of irregular beats hitting Dan's heart like an arrow. "I could hear you guys yelling on the other side soon after, so I leaned in and-" She gestured to the mess that had occurred. "-boom. London bridge came falling down."

Dan couldn't help but snort childishly at her lame joke. "Really? 'London bridge came falling down'? What, do you think all brits use that in their sentences?"

(Y/N)'s face lit up once more in embarrassment, "What? N-no! I didn't m-mea-"

"Pssh, it's fine. I'm only joking with you, silly!" Dan flashed her a smile, the embarrassment from their previous compromising position slowing melting away. She seemed to relax a little once she knew he was kidding, her shoulders falling slightly as she released the tension.

The three of them broke out into a fit of loud, joyous cackles, each of them reciting the events that had just happened moments ago, the humor still as fresh as the bruises they'd have tomorrow. Dan howled the loudest, clutching his stomach as he wiped a tear from his eye. He had no idea how it they managed to frequently end up in situations like this, but he wasn't complaining in the slightest. If it always ended in laughing fits like this, he wouldn't mind it happening again.

"Jesus, now that that's over-," (Y/N) hoisted herself up form the ground, brushing the dust from her pants and coat. She extended her arms out to both Dan and Phil, offering them each a sweet smile. "-Where to, boys?"

Phil cracked a sly grin, taking her hand as he practically jumped into the air. "Don't worry, I've got the perfect place for all of us to go!"

Dan cocked his head sideways, using (Y/N)'s hand to help himself upwards. His hands felt hot where she had just touched him; it wasn't an unpleasant heat though. It was honestly quite comforting. He looked towards Phil, curiosity filling him to the brim.

He had no idea where they were going, so hopefully Phil had a somewhat decent plan figured out for the day.
