After David had left for town on his motorcycle, planning to return later with Julie's clothes and some food for all of them, Crissa knew she could not go another hour without a shower and change of clothes. As she was under the warm water, quickly washing her body and shampooing her hair, she heard the familiar but loathsome sound of the jeep or truck coming back up toward the cabin. Desperately, she tried to rinse off, dry her body and dress to deal once again with her unwanted visitors. After several moments she heard the front door of the cabin open and slam shut, just when the powerful engine of the single vehicle parked outside shut down.

As she ran into the living room, she saw that Julie was missing—only her empty blanket was left lying on the floor. Crissa hesitantly went to the door, pushed it open slightly, and looked outside. There she saw Julie walking naked toward the wolf hunter's truck. There she seemed to stand and wait, unashamedly and confused. The bearded man got out of his vehicle and walked up to her. Julie was looking down at the ground, silent. It was an indication to Crissa that she was still not fully aware of what she was doing. The man reached up and put his hand boldly on her shoulder, seemingly to test her reaction.

Crissa leaned her head further outside to hear the man's words as he spoke.

"So, what are you . . . some kind of nudist, babe?"

Julie remained stoic. Unmoving.

"Hey, girlie! . . . I'm talking to you . . ."

The man reached over and touched her shoulder again.

Obvious now to Crissa, the girl was incapable of understanding the danger she was in—still naked and placing herself so close to the curious and opportunistic stranger. Crissa watched as the man stood closer to her to once more to test her reaction. She could see the large amplifiers he still had in the back of his truck.

Quickly, Crissa ran back inside to the bedroom and took the hunting knife out of its sheath. She carried it back with her, holding it down, hidden under the hoodie she wore. When she looked out again, she saw the man's hand move from the girl's shoulder down to one of her bare breasts. Crissa then passed purposefully through the front door and walked calmly toward the pair.

"Hey! Leave her alone!" she shouted assertively.

"What? This here's your friend?"

"Yes. And I said leave her alone!"

"So . . . is she crazy or something?"

"She's not well, OK? And if you touch her again you'll have to deal with me . . . and this . . ."

Crissa brought the knife out into the light, holding it in front of her.

"So just step away from her . . . and let me take her back inside."

"Well she's all yours, Missy," he said smiling cordially. "But you sure you know how to use that thing?"

"I've had some practice," she replied soberly.

"Well you know, I wasn't gonna do her no harm. Just wanted to know why . . ."

"I suggest you just move on before I report you the Mounted Police. They'd love to know who killed those wolves you showed me . . . and caused all that noise last night."

"Well, alright then. No harm done. Just do'in my business, ma'am."

"And what is your business?"

"Wolf hunter . . . extraordinaire," the man said, smiling.

He then gave a little salute of farewell while stepping away from Julie and getting back in his truck. Crissa waited as he started his engine and sped away. She quickly recited and memorized the truck's license plate number. She then took the hand of the still-dazed Julie and led her back into the cabin.

As David arrived at the UBC campus and headed to the dorm room where Trisha would be meeting him, he had a feeling of nostalgia for school. It had been a great sacrifice for him to quit his studies in light of the changes that happened in Germany. He understood well, however, that his life was now never to be the same. Yet at least through Crissa's love and help, and his move the Canada, he had a chance to make the best of it. It was still nevertheless a pity he felt, walking across the beautiful campus. That he would have to put his university plans on hold until a more secure time for both he and Crissa could be found.

David had earlier been to the boat docks to meet with his new boss, the fishing fleet owner, and to pick up what amounted to almost two thousand Canadian dollars. This was what he badly needed to afford his new life in the much more affluent and expensive region of the continent.

Knocking on the dormitory room door at just after 12:00 PM, Trisha greeted David in a state of dress he had not quite expected. She was wearing her underwear—a flesh colored bra and pair of black string panties, for which she apologized, saying she had just gotten back from a formal interview and had not managed to change out of her 'too-stuffy dress and blouse for the occasion.'

"Yeah, don't worry. That's OK," David said, trying to cover his initial surprise and try to disguise the awkwardness it caused him.

"See, I got this call last night to interview for job. At the American Embassy in Victoria. As a receptionist? Well, I'm still not sure about it. It's evenings mainly and well, with school and my workout schedule . . . I'll just have to see."

"OK," David said, again uncomfortably, trying to enter the room around Trisah, and without allowing his eyes to peruse the more uncovered parts of her.

"So, please. Just come in and get comfortable, Dave. I'm going to get you those clothes for Crissa. Poor thing! Falling into a cold lake like that . . ."

"She'll be OK. It's just the ride back on the bike we're worried about. Things are cooling down around here . . . and now with fall going into . . ."

Trisha seemed to make a point of standing closely in front of Crissa dresser with her back in full view to him. She bent over artfully in her panties to look into her roommate's drawers. An unavoidable view of Trisha's well-shaped and semi-tanned derriere was presented to him. He quickly turned his gaze away but found it difficult as she continued to speak to him in this position. David's eyes, it seemed, could not pull away from the brief panties and what they so purposely did not cover by design.

"So here we are," Trish said, matter-of-factly. "I'm giving her a pair of underwear, some jeans, a bra and a warm top, OK? Think with another pair of her trainers and socks . . . that will do . . . Don't you?"

"Sound's great," he said nervously.

Trisha turned around with the stack of clothing in her arms. She came very close to him and looked up into his eyes.

"A girl should never be without enough of the right clothes," she said flashing her alluring white smile. "Unless . . . the occasion calls for less clothing . . ."

She waited motionlessly for his reply, to which David was without words.

"Yeah. I think that does it then, Trisha," he finally said, breaking the silence and the purposely orchestrated moment.

"So, I'll just get these together for you to carry, Dave."

She walked away from him, toward her own closet, assuming the obvious runway-model gait he had seen her perform on another occasion. Once there, she carefully placed the folded articles into a colorful shopping bag.

"Thanks, Trish," he finally said. "You're the best." He reached out to take the package from her, anxious now to be on his way.

"Well . . . I don't know if I'm the best," she said in a soft voice, posing with one foot in front of the other. "But I've been told I'm pretty damn good . . ."

David smiled and found there was truly nothing he could say to the flirtatious and obviously calculated remark. He simply smiled, nodded, and left.

An hour or so later, after Julie had been coaxed by Crissa to take a bath, she was beginning to respond more normally. And it was about this time in the early afternoon that she heard the welcome sound of David's motorcycle winding up through the mountain roads toward the cabin. When he arrived, her handsome young man entered carrying a large backpack he had been wearing. Crissa met him at the door and threw her arms around him.

"So, everything alright up here?" David immediately asked.

"Well, it was sort of touch and go for a while," Crissa answered. "But yeah, much better now." She signaled quietly that Julie was presently in the bathroom.

"OK then. I picked up some food for us tonight. And got the clothes from Trisha."

"Super, my love!" The words just seemed to fly out of her, and David smiled back at the sound of them.

Crissa reached into the backpack and found the compressed bag of clothing. She took it to the bathroom and David could hear the two of them speaking calmly. It was a sign to him the plan was working to eventually transport Julie out of Canada and back to where she could live a fuller and affectionate life with her true mate there.

After several minutes while David busied himself with the groceries in the kitchen, the two young women came in and joined him. Crissa was seen to be obviously nervous as to how the cleaner, fresher Julie and David would relate to one another. How much of Julie's memories as a wolf remained, she wondered? What human and more reserved traits would hopefully return to her?

To Crissa, this was a critical issue as she knew that in both worlds Julie had always desired David. Her greatest defense to this, now however--aside from the fact that every effort would  be made to remove Julie from her world—was the desire Crissa now had to be David's mate. Without question, and in both worlds herself.
