I ran to the door, legs trembling in fear from the unknown. I soon started to fumble with the door knob, hands trembling wildly along with my knees, not able to cope with my mental process any longer of staying focus.

"H-Hurry, Meghan," my mother wept even further as she sat in her same spot, looking up at me with glazed eyes, causing me to get back a few of recently lost wits and to turn the knob, opening the door.

"Come with me," I whispered with unknown need back towards her as I had held the door wider for the both of us.

"I-I can't-"

"Yes you can, Momma. Now, come on.-"

"No, I can't. I-I'll just hold you back a-and I-I can't bring another being into this cruel, unsafe world," she wept further, causing a new question to pop into my head.

Another being...did that mean that she was actually pregnant? That Noelle died for nothing? That I was left alone in this torturing chamber of a world for nothing? That I had nothing else to protect for nothing? That I had to suffer for nothing? That I had to go through all of this pain, depression, grief for nothing?

My blood started to boil the more I had thought about it.

"No, you're coming. You might as well considering that you were the one to get Noelle killed," I muttered, silently storming out of the room, not wanting to look at her any longer. "You better keep up, or I'll leave you behind to die off with your murderer of a husband."

I could take care of myself. I had the money, the clothes, the defendant skills...

I left my bag. I left my bag outside, beside the tree, where those people probably are. It's probably too late to retrieve it right now considering the situation we're at right now.

It's probably stolen or maybe even used as bait for me to retrieve and for them to kill me as.

Like what hunters do now to capture animals and use them as either food, display, or maybe even furniture for them to walk all over on in full blown pride. And that sickens me to a great extent...which is why my personality is half Fluttershy and half Twilight Sparkle - which I am greatly proud of...

It's a My Little Pony reference.

I crept down the last step of the staircase and towards the door, looking around me cautiously for anything. Once it was clear, I lifted my right hand to the knob, not expecting it to be blazing hot, causing me to yelp and jump back from the door, clutching my fragile hand. I looked down at it to see if it was okay, only to find a scorching red mark, causing my fear level to go up another octave.

Instantly I knew that there was a fire on the other side of that door. I was thankful that the smoke hadn't gotten in the house yet depending on how dad removed the windows and replaced them with walls, and had bought a longer door so that no sounds were heard - which they probably still were - and thankfully, it was able to smoothly open and close without any problems.

Completely forgetting about caution, I ran to the back door, heart pounding in my chest. Once I had made it, I reached out to the knob, only to freeze, not wanting the same problem to happen with the front door.

I switched hands and then reached out again, this time using the tips of my fingers, only to yelp again in pain.

I needed to get to the Attic, there was a secret escape route I had made for both Noelle and I if any normal plans went south.

I sprinted away from the door and back to the staircase, forgetting all about those havoc people that were outside, who had probably started the fire. Once I had reached the stairs, I skipped by twos, only to fall flat on my face, thus breaking my glasses and to tumble back down the stairs.

I quickly got up and threw my glasses some place else, not wanting them to cause any more confliction. I then jogged back up the steps, not needing my vision since I had known this house by heart now.

Once I had reached the Attic, I panicked by the darkness. I had needed light for this process, even if my vision was blurry at this point.

"I-I'm coming with you," I heard my Mom croak from behind me.
Yeah, Mom. She isn't my Momma any longer.

"J-Just look for an escape hatch somewhere around here, I can't see through all of the darkness."

"Luckily, I brought you your eye contacts just in case," she quickly spoke, handing me the contacts before looking around the room for the hidden hatch.

I swiftly put both of the contacts in before getting back to my original task with my now clear vision. I went behind the bookcase and found the camaflaged lever, soon cranking it down, causing the roof window to open up for escape.

I quickly grabbed the ladder, soon placing it carefully to the open window.

"Hold the ladder still while I go up, I'll do the same for you when I reach the roof," I instructed, getting ready to climb the ladder.

Mom had rushed to the ladder, only to knock it down and a large crash to echo within the thin walls of this house, maybe warning the intruders that we were still alive.

I glared at her before quickly picking up the ladder and placing back in place. Thankfully Mom was careful this time so I was able to go up the ladder and make it to the roof.

I hadn't dared to look around, I just wanted to get Mom up before she could get taken. I held the ladder in place by the tips, allowing her to easily climb up, but once she reached the top, the ladder started to wobble a bit, causing me to panic a bit.

Thankfully, she made it up, but sill kicked the ladder back down, signalling the intruders once again.

I quickly closed the window shut before locking it, and then that was when I saw it...

My torture house, known as home, was surrounded by large flames of fire, causing me to think back to the lower areas, which must be embraced by poisonous smoke and flesh burning flames. And Noelle must've been long gone burnt into ashes.

"We have to jump," I muttered thoughtfully as I targeted the tree with my eyes, deep in wonder of how it hadn't gotten singed from the fire, let alone touched by it.

"Now."

I swiftly grabbed her hand before running to the roof's edge, a bit glad that the bricks of the roof went down in a tilt, causing our speed to increase.

"W-Wai-" Mom stuttered, only to feel me leap off of the edge of the roof and yank her hand along with me.

Determination flowed deep within me, overflowing my fear deep with me.

Almost there, so close. I hadn't looked down, but I could feel the flames beneath me's heat, desperatly trying to grapple me, to consume me within it's deathly hold of hell. And even though it wasn't able to reach me, it was able to spark something deep within me. My anger.

The tip of my right foot had thankfully touched one of the tree's thick branches, and soon, so had my whole foot. As soon as I had balance, I tugged my Mom towards me so that she had balance.

"Okay, let's go," I huffed before jumping off of the left side of the tree, away from the fire, soon violently rolling in the grass once I had landed. But for my Mom's way to go down, she climbed.

"I have a child to protect within me," she spoke motherly. And I couldn't help but think of how a half an hour ago, she hadn't wanted to bring the child into this world - or should I say being.

"Okay, let's go," I muttered, cautiously looking around for the intruders, but before I had took a step away from the tree, I realized to get the bag. So I quickly and swiftly grabbed the bag before the flames could reach it and then took my Mother's hand, pulling it along with me.

We thankfully had made it a few blocks down and had reached Starbucks, only to soon go in. I pulled the bag off from my shoulders and unzipped it, wanting to get out some money that would keep me sedated for the next few days.

"Get something cheep that would last for a few days," I muttered as I took out two crisp 20 dollar bills before zipping the bag back up and pulling both straps back over my shoulders.

"I'm still your Mother, you know," she snapped suddenly, causing me to turn my head to her with emotionless eyes planted on my face. "So you shouldn't be talking to me this way."

"Why shouldn't I? Noelle's dead because of you. You should actually be thankful that I had not only saved YOUR child's life but I'm about to feed YOUR child. Take note that I was talking about the fetus in your womb and not you," I unemotionly retorted before walking up to the counter.

Jim, nice name for a hormonal teen who has acne and works at Starbucks.

"Hello, welcome to Starbucks, how may I help you," he more like stated toys rather than question as he unemotionally spoke.

Well, I guess today is naturally a bad day for a Friday and surprisingly as I look a the time on the menu in the corner, there bolded was:

7:56

The time.

I sighed before telling him my order. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive and was able to find seats in the shadows just in case the intruders were unknowingly in here.

"Meghan?" I heard a familiar voice say from behind me, a voice that had started all of this.

I snapped my head around and glared at him, causing to flinch back under my intense gaze.

"Go. Away," was all that I was able to snap before turning back to my Mom, not wanting to see his face any longer.

"H-Hey, i-it's okay. L-Look I saw your house on fire and I just wanted to check up on you and see if you had any place to live for now, but-"

"We don't!" Mother suddenly snapped, causing me to glare at her this time.

But I couldn't help but wonder, how the heck did he know that I was alive if my house was in flames? How did he know that I needed a home? How did he know that I was at Starbucks? How did he know that MY home was in flames? Did he take me there once and I just forgot about it? Or was he stalking me? How, how, how?

And why?

So many unanswered questions that I needed to keep at bay for the moment so that I was able to build up a great moment to interrogate him, or find out answers on my own so that I was in the end able to turn to him to see what the deal was, if he was good or bad.

Thankfully I had grown over the years for observance and patience.

"Well then my family and I can take you in, I mean, there's more than enough room!"

No. That's my first and foremost thought that I was too keen on to let go.

"No."

"Yes!" We said at the same time, only to glare at each other. "I am your mother and guardian, so I say that we go."

"Great, then let's go," he beamed before snatching up the both of our hands and pulling us to a very, very expensive Lamborghini.

This is NOT going to end up well.
