Running my fingers over the somewhat healed wound, I flinch at where the deep gash was minutes ago. I know that even though it looks like a week old wound, the side effects will still take their toll.

My original blood may protect me from death from the werewolf bite but not from the mental games the venom will play on my mind. Lillian just had to prove a point, and I can't wait to see the look on her face when she realizes I survived her bite.

Standing in front of the mirror in my bathroom, I see my reflection that shows the feeble girl from over a thousand years ago. The one with the tattered hair down to the small of her back and the one with the broken look in her eyes. I grip the edge of the sink as memories flood into my head in a tiny stream but it is not overwhelming yet. When I hear a crack from underneath my hands, I let my hands relax.

I open and close my hands a few times before looking at the damage I had done to my sink. Once a smooth surface was now covered in tiny cracks on both side from where I had a death grip on the edges.

My eyes glance back into the mirror, and I let out an inaudible gasp when I see a bead of sweat roll from my hairline done my pale cheek towards my jaw. As a vampire, I never sweat or get cold. It's been so long since I've been anywhere close to what its like to be human again. I shake my head and splash some water on my face to try and rid the feverish feelings.

The water helps, soI feel somewhat more at ease going to bed, no longer falling into the trap the venom. Changing into red and black plaid shorts with a black cotton tee, I slip under the covers of my bed.

My mind swirls with blurry parts of my memories as I close my eyes in order to let the darkness consume me. It does just that as I focus in on the feeling of being pulled under...

"Alexia, my darling, will you please go collect some things for me?" I tear my eyes away from the sight of my brothers battling on the grounds in front of the rest of the people in our village. Niklaus knocks Elijah to the ground, sword pointed towards his neck and they both start laughing. I giggle at their playful and silly ways as I walk over to mother who hands me a list of items to retrieve from the next village over. "Take Henrik too please. Your father will be angry if Henrik keeps hanging around your brother while they are fighting."

I nod my head and go back outside to grab my youngest brother. I do not have to walk far because he is already close by, looking as if he is about to head inside. When I glance over to where he once was standing with my other brothers, I see father lecturing Niklaus before he slashes at Nik's clothing with his own sword. "Come with me to get a few things?" Henrik nods, and we start making our journey over to the village that is not too terribly far from ours.

It takes twenty minutes to reach the marketplace set up for the day in the middle of the village's grounds. We make our way over to a close family friend who sells herbs,"How are you doing today Cassia? Mother sent us to get some things."

I hand over the list to Cassia, a woman with vibrant red hair and freckles across her face. She was a little younger than mother but they always found time to see each other every once in a while when they could step away from their children for a day.

"What a pleasure it is to see you and Henrik today. Not many people have stopped by the shop today."

I offer a soft smile,"well, we can stay here for a little bit if you would like that?"

Cassia waves us off with a chuckle,"nonsense, you two are young and need to talk with others your age." Henrik looks up at me and right away I know what he is asking, so I nudge him to go talk with a few other kids around thirteen or fourteen years old. I decide to stay with Cassia since she still has to gather some herbs for us. As she does this, she peers over to me and studies me for a minute. "Alexia dear, have you met any men worthy of your time yet?"

A warm blush appears on my pale cheeks as I look down at my feet. "Don't flatter me like that. I think you should ask if I have met any men that see me fit to be their wife. The answer is no...Rebekah found a nice guy in our village but father scared him off since he was afraid it was getting too serious too soon."

She shakes her head, clearly in disagreement with my father and his protective ways. "My advice is that once you find yourself someone special who doesn't view you as an accessory, keep it to yourselves before he decides to wed you."

I think about her advice,"You know, that is actually a good idea. That way I can make sure it is the best decision before father gets involved and ruins everything. I just have to find someone first and that might me a difficult task." I chuckle at my last comment, knowing most men fawn over Rebekah and her gorgeous blonde locks.

Cassia walks over to me and touches my cheek gently," Don't view yourself so lowly. You are beautiful and will find a great guy someday soon...I just know it." Her green eyes advert behind me, looking at something or someone in particular, "Speaking of..." I turn my head slowly before catching a glimpse of a guy around eighteen with shaggy brown hair that is a lighter shade than mine, with piercing green eyes. His frame was tall and lean, yet muscular. I had never seen him before, so his family must have just moved to this village.

My breath catches as I watch him talk with who I assume are his parents before he turns to walk away towards the forest. I feel a slight shove that sends me stumbling forwards. I bite my lip, unsure whether or not to go after him. Cassia speaks up,"Nows your chance!" I look over to Henrik and the list mother had given me. "Don't worry, I'll watch over him and collect the rest of the items for you. Now go before you lose him!"

I nod my head in thanks as I slightly jog over to where he had left moments ago. Trees now surround me as I weave my way around bushes and branches, attempting to find the mysterious guy who caught my attention.

I pass a rather large tree and stop in my place as I frown. There are no signs of anyone past this point. I guess meeting him was just not meant to happen. Sighing, I pull my long skirt to one side as I sit town on the dirt ground below, and I rest my chin on my hand.

Silent seconds pass as I tell myself that I will be forever alone while the rest of my siblings will marry off and leave me behind.

"You're following me." A teasing male voice makes me jump in my spot, clutching my hand over my heart. I gasp at the sudden sound from behind me and look at the source. There, leaning against the large tree casually, was the guy with a smirk on his face.

Flustered, I do not say anything. He makes his way over and offers his hand to me, yet I glance at his hand unsure. He looks genuine though, so I slip my hand in his and allow him to pull me up. He keeps his grip around my hand and brings it up to his lips to place a kiss. I already know I am blushing a lot but my face is probably red right now.

Because I am still silent, he speaks up again, "My name is Elliot, I just arrived at this village the other day." I had assumed this much, but I decide that Elliot is a fitting name for him. I do not realize I still have not spoken up until Elliot says,"You know I will just have to call you Beautiful if you do not tell me your name."

Now he has done it. I look down, allowing my long brown locks to cover the sides of my face in attempt to hide my blushing face. Words finally produce in my mouth when I stop looking into his eyes, "Alexia."

I feel a gentle hand place itself underneath my chin, lifting up my head to look back into those mesmerizing eyes. "Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I thank him for the kind comment, although, I am utterly shocked that he seems as taken with me as I am with him. "Well Alexia, I would love to talk to you some more. Do you live here as well?"

"No, I live in the village over but it's a short walk."

"Will you come back? I want to learn all there is to know about you."

I nod my head, "As do I with you. Meet me here tomorrow same time?"

Elliot smiles and my body warms, filling with a jittery feeling. "Of course." His face moves closer and before I know it, his lips leave a soft kiss on my warm cheek. His lips linger before he walks over to the clearing and pulls out his sword to start practicing fighting techniques.

I leave the forest on a high, unsure if what just happened was for real. Maybe my luck is changing. A smile appears on my face as I make my way over to a knowing Cassia dying for details. She hands me everything mother had asked me to acquire on my trip and I thank her in return. Cassia smiles smugly, aware that she was right about the mysterious guy but is readily waiting for more details after my next encounter with Elliot.

"Henrik, time to head back!" Henrik makes his way over from the boy play sword fighting in the village square. We walk back home arm in arm, with me listening to his animated experiences with a sword.

"You won't tell father about the sword?" He looks up at me with his doe brown eyes that do not resemble my own.

I shake my head,"Never. Secrets are forever and so is family."

He smiles at me warmly,"Forever and always."

"Forever and always."

Sorry if this chapter is not super edited/a filler...I went out for my birthday last night and yeah...enough said lol. Next chapter will be much better! Thanks x
