Chloe groaned into her pillow, burying herself further into her comforter. "Go away, Alex, it's my day off."
"Maybe not," her demon cousin said, flipping on a light switch, "but today is a special day!"
"Your death day?"
"On this day in history," Alex said, speaking in an announcer's voice, "on March 21st, 1997, Chloe Olivia Frye neé Lewis was born, making the world a little more pessimistic."
"Go away."
He didn't go away. "On this glorious day on March 21st, 2018, she turns twenty-one-"
"-Shove off and give me my cake."
