Bottled In - Matt Espinosa Imagine for Savannah
“Babe!” Matt yelled to you as you stomped towards the door of his room. “I’m just saying you never want to do anything anymore! It’s like you hate being with me.” You could tell his voice was frustrated. You puffed out some angry steam and crossed your arms across your chest and stopped moving. You stared at the door. There were mad tears falling down your cheeks as you felt your body shake in madness. “I don’t understand why you’d want to stay with me if you never liked doing things with me,” Matt said, still audibly angry.
The emotions had been bottled up in your head for what felt forever. But today… you exploded. There wasn’t enough room in your body to keep in all of the shit that you were dealing with. Matt’s harsh words cut deep… even deeper than the razor on your skin. Yes, you cut. Every night. It was the only way you could release the emotions without hurting anyone other than yourself. No one knew… and you didn’t intend on telling anyone anytime soon about your disgusting secret. Just thinking about it made your blood boil and made you get a horrible humiliating feeling in your chest.
“I think its time we said goodbye. I still love you, Savannah. But I can tell you don’t feel the same way anymore…” Matt said, his voice now suddenly quieter. He wasn’t controlling his words and his voice shook when he spoke. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes. You turned yourself around so you were facing him. Looking to the floor so you didn’t have to look in his eyes, you pulled up the sleeves of you long sweater. There were so many scars. You held out your wrists to him.
You heard Matt gasp when he saw you skin. His rough hands took yours gingerly and pulled you towards him. He ran his fingers over the fresh cuts. “Savannah…” he said. His voice was so quiet, you could barely hear him. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I just…” You jerked back your hands and covered your face, dropping to the floor and curling your knees to your chest. “I didn’t want to hurt you…”
“Savannah,” he said lightly, sitting next to you and pulling you towards his chest. “I’d never hurt you. You should know that. You’re my little precious baby, and you know I could never even think about hurting you in anyway. I love you.” You sniffled and sighed.
“I love you, too,” you whispered. Matthew kissed the top of your head.
“How about some frozen yogurt?” he asked, smiling and pulling you off the ground.
