Delilah's P.O.V
"Close your eyes," Luke tells me as we get closer to our destination.
"Where are we going Luke?"
"I can't tell you love," he says laughing at my anxiousness, amusement dances in his eyes.
I sigh as the car comes to a halt.
"Can I open my eyes now?"
"Nope," he says as he comes around the back of the car to open my door.
He picks me up by the waist and carries me a couple feet away. His hands don't leave my waist as he whispers in my ear, "open your eyes."
The sun raises in the sky. Colors dance throughout it red, orange, yellow. We are surrounded by flowers in a meadow.
"It's beautiful," I manage out.
"Sit down love I'll be right back," Luke tells me.
I admire the view, my mind is a cage of butterflies that can never be free. But I think I just set them free. I found my happy place.
Luke returns with a guitar in hand. He smiles brightly, even I can see it in the dark morning light.
He strums it sitting down beside me. Then he does something unexpected. He begins to sing. And let me tell you words could not describe how amazing his voice was.
"Hey there Delilah what's it like in New York City? I'm one thousand miles away but girl tonight you look so pretty, yes you do. Time Square can't shine as bright as you. I swear it's true."
He looks at me as he sings his blue eyes melting my soul. I get lost in his eyes. The butterflies are back but instead of being in my mind they are in my tummy. Making me feel all bubbly inside.
"Hey there, Delilah I've got so much left to say. If every simple song I wrote to you would take your breath away, id write it all. Even more in love with me you'd fall, we'd have it all."
More butterflies.
"Oh it's what you do to me."
I can't seem to tell but by the way he looked at me it's like he meant every word of the song.
