I met my dad at the house and it turns out Damon tried to compel him too. We told each other everything that happened. He also grounded me for disobeying him which was aggravating since it was the start of the weekend. Right after I drew to get my mind off of it.

Caroline said Matt kissed her and I was happy about it. I'm sure Matt would thank me for the advice if he had the chance. She also told me about a party coming up and I kinda wanted to talk to Tyler again.

Dad also just so happened to get the exact journal that Damon and Stefan needed to get to the tomb. It was just dumb luck but it was the best dumb luck I've ever had.

It said that the journal was with Giuseppe Salvatore. All the journal entries were dated in 1864. The same year Damon and Stefan supposedly knew Katherine. That meant this Giuseppe was related to them closely. A brother, father, uncle, something relevant. That meant they must've already had the book under their noses.

I was home alone for the time being to wonder what everything was about. Dad was at the school grading and photocopying the journal just to be safe. I saw crow at the window and it cawed at me. I looked at it and sighed. "Your life must be so much easier than mine." I sighed lightly before I heard the doorbell ring.

I went out to the door and I opened it to see Damon. I had to pretend I didn't really know him. "Okay first how do you know where I live, second why are you here?" I asked looking at him confused as I held the door slightly closed. There was no way I was gonna let this ass compel me to let him inside.

"Hmm. You're a snarky one aren't you?" He let out a soft chuckle.

"And you just now noticed. What do you want?" I asked with a sigh.

"Well can I come in?" He asked looking at me.

"No I'm grounded. No visitors." I replied with a shrug as if I wasn't intentionally trying to keep him out.

"What did you do?" He asked curiously.

"In the midst of dancing I forgot to check my phone and he was worried. I argued about it and here I am." I explained looking at him.

"He's kind of a hard ass isn't he?" He asked looking at me with a smile. It was like he wanted me to be his friend which was weird considering everything that happened.

"You keep avoiding my question." I said with my eyes squinted.

"I just came to say hello." He shrugged lightly. "Anyway, I've got a family dinner to go to at Elena's."

"I thought Stefan was dating her?" I asked confused.

"He is. What can I say I like to make his life difficult. It's a sibling thing." He added with a smile.

"I wouldn't know." I replied pursing my lips. "Have fun." I added before I closed the door. What was with this guy? Did he visit me because he wanted to make sure I didn't remember? Maybe because I wouldn't start anything? Whatever it was it was weird.

I stayed at home being bored as ever when dad came home and came over to sit with me on the couch. "What happened?" I asked noticing the worry in his face.

"Stefan stopped by. He knows about me which means he knows you lied." He sighed lightly. I knew he blamed me but it wasn't like I could change it and honestly I wouldn't.

"And he didn't kill you?" I asked confused. I was told all vampires were bad and there had to be a reason why he didn't.

"I gave him a copy of the journal." He nodded lightly. "Another vampire came in and stole the original and he is sending Damon off to get it. That's all I know."

"Wait Damon and Stefan aren't on good terms?" I asked confused but it actually made some sense. Stefan was hesitant about my original deal.

"I don't think so. He also knows Damon was the one to kill Isobel and he warned me not to go after him. He said he would kill me if he knew I was a hunter too." He explained as I nodded.

"Wait did he say why Damon didn't kill me then?" I asked confused.

"No I didn't ask. I assumed it was because you look kind of like Elena, but maybe it could be the other girl you were talking about." He suggested.

The girl Katherine. He must have liked her. He was the one that wanted her and the first night I was here, he thought I was someone else. He must've thought I was her. "He loves her. He loves the other girl." I said looking at dad. That meant she had to be his weakness.

"I'll do the dirty work. You're still grounded. I don't want you out of the house right now anyway."

"I mean I understand safety and all but I actually do want a life out of vampires. Caroline told me about a party coming up tonight. There's gonna be a lot of people there and I'll stick with her." I explained looking to him.

He rolled his eyes lightly. "It's not safe out there." He argued.

"So what you are going to keep me trapped inside. It's never gonna be safe dad. I just want to live my life. I promise to lay low." I told him and I was telling the truth. I needed a break from everything and I figured there was no possible reason for Damon to show up.

"Fine." He sighed. "Don't do anything else you'll regret." He said as I nodded.

I got ready and texted Caroline. She was really excited that I could go and so was I. I needed to get a little bit of my party on. It's been a while and honestly no one deserved a drink more than I did right now.

I got ready and I headed to Carolines. Matt drove us to the party which for some reason was being held at the old cemetery, I wasn't complaining though because there was free booze.

I started walking over and I told Caroline I'd be right back. I got myself a beer and I took a few swigs before squinting lightly at the not so good taste. "God." I said lightly as I sighed.

"Enma." I heard as I turned around to see Tyler.

I smiled to him. "Tyler."

"So you are a party girl?" He asked with a smile.

"Was a party girl but I need a little relaxation right now so here I am." I said as I took another sip.

"Well cheers to letting loose." He said as I tapped his glass on mine. A few drinks later and I was definitely tipsy.

Tyler and I talked about dumb shit for maybe thirty minutes before he saw Matt and we walked over. Tyler grabbed his bottle and started drinking it.

"Hey." Matt said defensively with a small smile. "And hey Emma."

"Why am I getting a depressed vibe from you?" I asked my words slurred only a little.

"Is the honeymoon phase over?" Tyler asked with a sigh.

"I don't know maybe. I think Caroline is kinda clingy." He explained to Tyler.

"You get used to it." I smiled to him. "Young love does that to a person." I said wisely.

"After all the grief you gave me about liking her I thought it would've lasted more than five minutes." Tyler said as I nudged him.

"Hey that's rude he's going through a hard time." I pointed my finger at him.

"I'm not really used to the whole public couple thing that she's into." He shrugged lightly.

"Then tell her that. Honesty is what a girl likes. Just talk about what's bothering you." I shrugged lightly.

"How are you still good at advice when you are drunk?" Tyler asked looking to me.

"Okay I'm not drunk." I said matter of factly. "I'm just a little tipsy. I'm anything but a lightweight pretty boy." I looked to him as he let out a soft chuckle. "Here she comes." I said as I saw Caroline walking towards us.

"Hey there you are." Caroline smiled to Matt. She then looked to me. "Having a good time?"

"Yeah I am." I smiled. "I'm gonna go that way. Let me know whenever you guys are ready to leave, which hopefully isn't until a few hours." She nodded with a smile before I started walking. I grabbed Tyler's hand and pulled him away.

"Where are we going?" He asked as I stopped and turned to him.

"Nowhere, they just needed to talk." I replied looking to him with a smile.

"You're pretty cool you know that?" He asked putting his hand in his pocket.

"I do know that actually." I replied with a nod before I let out a soft chuckle. "I have a question for you." I said looking to him as I crossed my arms. He nodded. "Are you talking to me because you want to get in my pants?" I asked as he raised his eyebrows.

"Wow you're straightforward aren't you?" He asked as he chuckled lightly. "At first a little but you're actually fun to hang out with. Why do you want to get in mine?" He asked tilting his head lightly.

"Not now." I shrugged lightly.

"What do you mean?" He asked confused.

"I'm open to the possibility of it maybe happening at some point." I shrugged.

He looked at me surprised. "Wow." He nodded. "I am too then." He smiled. "I don't meet too many people who are as straightforward as you."

"I'm a rare breed." I smiled back. "And besides, I have a feeling you're a good kisser." I joked as he laughed.

"Want to test that theory?" He asked jokingly before I grabbed his face and kissed him lightly. It was definitely the alcohol. The party girl inside me was a wild one. She was also a lot more caring and protective of everyone- and I really mean everyone.

"Cherish it. It's the only one you'll get." I laughed lightly letting go of him. "I'm gonna go find Caroline. Hopefully she's not making out with Matt yet." I smiled to him before walking away. He stood there in awe and it was the reaction I wanted. I had to admit I was a tease.

I walked towards Caroline and she smiled to me. "We were thinking of going to the grill." She explained to me and I knew she wanted it to just be her and Matt.

"Drop me off first at my place?" I asked as she nodded.

"Won't your dad be mad that you had some drinks?" She asked confused.

"He would but I bet he's at the grill right now doing the same thing." I replied as she nodded. I got into the car and they dropped me off.

I went inside the complex and started walking up the stairs when I saw Damon sitting there.

"What?" I asked looking at him confused. He seemed really upset which surprised me because I didn't know he had emotion. "Why are you here?" I asked confused.

"You went to that party even though you're grounded?" He asked. He was always avoiding questions.

"I asked my dad to let me live my life and he said I could go. What happened to you?" I asked crossing my arms. Yeah maybe I hated the guy but I was drinking which meant my caring charts were through the roof.

"We went to the tomb." He said as he looked at me.

"What?" I asked before remembering, then remembering that I wasn't supposed to remember.

"She wasn't there." He added as if I wasn't talking.

"Why did you come here though Damon? We aren't friends." I shook my head confused.

"Well you are one of the closest things I've got to a real friend even if you want me dead." He looked at me as he stood up.

"What are you talking about?" I asked confused. He was speaking is if I remembered. I mean I did but that wasn't the point. "Just answer my question. Why are you here? I mean why visit me?" I asked looking at him.

"Because I thought if I saw you then I'd be okay. Or maybe I thought you'd kill me." He said as I looked at him confused. "Elena is nice. She's supportive but I know you'll tell me how it is and do what's necessary."

"And what is it that's happened?" I asked confused.

"The woman I love wasn't where she said she'd be. She could've visited me but she didn't. Why would she do that?" He asked looking at me.

"Well you act like an arrogant ass. Do you think that had something to do with it?" I asked looking at him. I was tipsy so my sass levels were a little higher.

"I wasn't. Not with her. It was pure." He explained looking down as I squinted lightly.

"When did things change?" I asked curiously.

"When I thought she was gone." He responded. He actually answered my question for once.

"Then maybe it's her." I shrugged lightly. "Maybe she was playing you or something." I could've been more kind with my words.

"Why?" He asked as he stood up and looked at me.

"I don't know her so I couldn't tell you." I shrugged. "If you really didn't deserve her leaving then she doesn't deserve to have you." I shrugged.

"You should hate me. Why did you agree to talk to me?" He asked looking at me.

"I do hate you and I didn't agree. You're blocking my door." I nodded as he furrowed his brows lightly. "But hey I'm tipsy and everybody deserves someone to help them. I know what it's like to be alone and you needed to let out what you're feeling." If sober me saw me right now she'd be pissed. Talking to my only mortal enemy- what a dumbass.

"I'm awful." He shook his head. He stepped aside and I went to unlock the door.

"Are you gonna be okay by yourself?" I asked looking at him. He nodded once as I saw a tear fall down his cheek. I went over to him and I wiped it. "You'll get through it." I nodded lightly. "Promise not to kill anyone because you're upset."

"Why would I kill anyone?" He asked looking at me with no emotion.

"You know why. You're a vampire, Damon." I responded with a tilt of my head. "No one else should have to die at your hand." I smiled lightly. "I recommend baths."

He looked at me. "You're gonna forget I was ever here. You still hate me and you don't feel sorry for me." He said as I looked at him surprised. "Now go inside." He said as I turned around and went inside.

I got some water and food and ate before going to bed. I say there for a second before I sat up. "What the hell did I just do?" I asked myself thinking about what happened on the stairs with Damon. Was I dumb? Yes. Now he knows that I know what he is. I'm such a dumbass when I'm drinking. I still couldn't help but feel bad for him.
