I was high on adrenaline and running of anger. I didn't give a damn about Erik's consequences now like they once did. Something had changed within me. A sense of hatred that I had wanted for him was at its peak. I hated him and what he did to me. He was the cause of all my problems. If he would have stayed away from her life I wouldn't be in this mess that I have been in the last many years. He had killed me from the inside but he wasn't ready to do it from the outside.
I had once again parked my car at the nearby mall and taken a cab to Nathaniel's office. I ringed him again and he was there again to buzz me in. I was taking his personal time, he was giving it to me and like a greedy person I was taking it all. Nathaniel stood there assessing me from head to toe. His eyes weren't lust-filled but they were assessing calculative. He was looking at me and trying to figure me out. The same thing I had been trying to figure out.
"Are we going to stand right here?" I asked staring at him.
"Maybe," He replied giving me a small smile. Minutes passed and we stood there. Then he stepped back and gave me the way to pass.
