ROZIE'S POV
I took a mouthful of the Patbingsu, which is really good by the way. I'm in a depressed mode right now and stress-eating is activated. I looked at the picture I just took and chose a filter that would best enhance its quality.
"And I thought you were cutting some slack from sweets. That doesn't look like it."
I was dumbfounded by that very familiar voice that suddenly came out of nowhere. I was looking at my phone with eyes wide open, my mouth still full of the sweetened ice that I almost choked on. I don't wanna look up to see who it is.
I know who it is. I just don't wanna see him. Maybe I do. Okay, I do. But after what happened yesterday? This guy still has the guts to show his face! What.an.ass!
"Is this seat taken?"
I still refused to look at him and merely shook my head from left to right. He sat in front of me. I can feel his eyes burning. I just realized I haven't moved an inch. I put the phone down and began smashing the ice with the spoon.
"Uhmm. About yesterday... I.."
"It's alright. You don't have to explain yourself.."
"But I.."
"I said it's fine. No big deal." sounding annoyed. I am not gonna buy any of the lame excuses he's going to give. I've heard all of them. This girl has been through a lot.
I was still avoiding his gaze. I lost count of the number of times I've smashed the spoon into the bowl but ice chips were already falling into the table.
He shouldn't have mentioned anything about yesterday. It only brought back the pain I felt. What I hated the most is waiting. What's even worse is waiting for nothing. My emotions are caught between hurt and anger. I hurriedly ate the dessert not really caring if I choke myself from it. Might as well die. He's already killed me anyway. Okay, that was too much. I'm turning myself into a drama queen.
"Do you always eat like that?"
I continued to munch totally ignoring his presence.
"Would you please look at me?" He said as he reached for my hand.
His touch sent warmth all over me. As if on cue, I looked at him. His eyes were filled with so much concern. The rest of the world seemed to zone out. All I could see were his hazel brown eyes. It was drawing me in more and more by the second. I was drowning in them. And I seriously didn't wanna be saved.
"Look. I'm very sorry about yesterday. Something came up and.."
My phone rang.
"Where the heck are you?? You won't believe what just happened!" Jennie shrieked and I just have to pull the phone away from my ear.
I saw my friends by the window searching for me in the crowd. I guess the fan meeting has finally ended. "Your fans are coming from all over the place. Don't you think you should be somewhere else right now?"
"Are you telling me to leave?"
My phone beeped. "We're going without you. Meet us at Insadong," says Jennie.
"Sorry but I have to go." I quickly took my phone and my bag. I was about to leave when he suddenly held unto my wrist.
"Don't go just yet. We need to talk."
I shook my head. "Look. If this is still about yesterday, don't worry about it. I wasn't really expecting you to show up anyways. I mean, you're busy and stuff. Totally got it. " I lied. I freaking waited for 4 hours!!
"I need to go. My friends are waiting for me." Trying to let go of his grip but it only got even tighter.
"Stay with me."
"Are you asking me to ditch my friends?"
"Yes." He said without even blinking. This guy is just too confident of himself. Like who does he think he is??? "You've spent almost 2 weeks with them in Seoul and would still be seeing each other every day when you get home. But for us, we only have today."
Since when did "us" come into the picture? I can feel my cheeks burning up. I'm not denying the fact that I actually like the sound of that. 😶
"Come on. I want to make it up to you. Just give me a chance."
I really didn't need time to think it over. I already knew the answer. I know exactly what I want.
"So are you coming with me or not?" How can anyone say no to this guy? This is slavery.
I looked at his beautiful face and damn. I can stare at it all day. "Okay," I said in a very small voice.
He finally let go of his grip and gave me the gummy smile which just melted every piece of me. How can he do this to me? Is this even legal?
"Let's go then." He wore his cap almost covering his eyes and put on a mask he got from the side pocket of his hoodie. He took my hand and went out using the side door of the restaurant.
