Kylo's P.O.V.
I look at the fire in front of me that's in a separate room from everybody else at Crait. It's small, has a small bed and fire to keep warm, since the Resistance never had enough power to light the whole place. The hacker is here, I just need to get ready to see him. But when she's around, I like to take my time.
I stare at the fire, thinking of that night when she was in the island and then Luke came bursting in, literally. I look back at her. "When I said that you're not alone, I meant it." She looks back at me.
"I know. I meant what I said too, that it's not too late. And it still isn't."
I look at the ground. It is too late, no matter what she says. And I have priorities as Supreme Leader, like finding the Resistance.
"Why did you connect us earlier?" I say hoping that she'll let me change the subject.
"I don't know. It just happened."
She's lying. It takes a lot of effort for us to connect.
"You can't just connect us because it happened. Stop lying."
She hesitates. "Finn. He was talking about you, making me connect us accidentally."
A look of disappointment appears on my face. Knowing that Finn was the motivation for her to connect us makes me angry but also a little bit sad. "Of course he did. What were you guys saying about me?"
"Why would I tell you?"
She's right. Why would she tell me? I'm about to say something when she looks pass me and doesn't look away. She starts to get up and walk around me. "Rey?"
She gets up not taking her eyes off of what she's looking at and then blocks me.
I sigh and get up from the floor I was sitting on. It's about midnight and everybody is asleep. I yawn. I lay on my bed and fall asleep.
I look up at the sky. It's the bluest sky I've ever seen. The Resistance is in the distance but Rey is right in front of me, with her ignited lightsaber. I look down at my hand. I'm holding my lightsaber. I look behind me. The First Order is in the distance as well. I look back at Rey.
"I don't want to do this, Ben. Especially not to you." She says as tears stream down her face.
"I don't want to, either." I say but she seems not to hear me.
"It just seems like you won't come back no matter what I do!" She yells at me intensely.
I look at her confused.
"I guess you have to pay for your actions now... I never wanted this."
She then comes running towards me with her lightsaber. I lift up mine on instinct and our sabers cross and the dream ends.
I wake up with a jolt. I take a hand and brush my hair back. I lift the covers up and swing my legs over the edge. I sit there shirtless, not knowing what to think. I hear a knock on the door. I get up to answer it. I open and it's not who I was expecting. "Audrey?"
"They wanted me to tell you-"
"-Why did they send you?"
"They know you won't kill me. Anyways he'll meet you at noon."
"I make the orders around here. I say when I will meet the hacker."
"Then when do you want to meet him?"
I hesitate. "Noon."
She rolls her eyes and is about to close the door when she realizes I'm shirtless and she looks down and back at me. "Take a shower, Ben. You're sweating profusely." She closes the door obnoxiously.
I look down and she's right. I guess I was sweating when I was having the dream. I head for the shower in my room. The room is small but it has a bathroom. I take off my clothes and get in the shower. I turn on the water. It's hot. At least they have hot water.
What was that dream. We were about to fight each other. But why? Where were we? I've never seen that place. The sky was purple and I don't think it was sunrise or sunset. And why did she look like she was heartbroken? I don't know if it was the future or not. I hope it wasn't
A couple hours go by and it's noon. I go out of my room and into a short hallway that leads to a huge area. Then main area. I look around me and again, there are stormtroopers around me, too many to count. In habit, as I walk down the isle of stormtroopers to meet our hacker, two of them come up behind and continue to walk with me. I come up to the hacker, who is waiting for his payment.
"Where is it?" I say as intimidating as I can.
He looks at me, wearing rags that he calls clothing and his hair is all out of place and scruffy. "I can't say. I don't remember. If only something would jjjj-jog my memory."
I glare at him. Knowing what he wants, I look at the troopers who have his payment and gestures them to give it to him. One of them pushes a cart of boxes over full with medals, precious jewels and diamonds.
"Thank you." He says as he puts his hand on top of all the boxes.
"Now, where is it?"
"It took sometime and it was hard-"
"-It's not that hard to hack a base and find its location, I could have done it."
"And why didn't you."
"I've been busy."
Hux then grunts and rolls his eyes at my remark. I turn my gaze from the hacker and glare at him. He then stands back up straight. I turn back to the hacker.
"Where is it?"
He sighs. "Pillio."
"Pillio?"
"Pillio."
I haven't been there in so long. The last time I was there was when I was looking for Luke. There was some guy that knew where Lord San Tecka was. I think his name was... Del. He was killed by one of our commanders. I don't remember which one.
The hacker starts to walk away but Hux cuts in. "And where do you think you're going... DJ?"
He points at the door. "oooo-Out there."
"No, not yet." I say going right in front of Hux, reminding him who's in charge. Hux takes a couple steps back, as he sighs in annoyance. "You didn't tell me where in Pillio."
"Us. You didn't tell us." Hux barges in again. I look back at him.
"Stop talking."
He glares at me but stops making noise with his mouth. Thankful, I look back at DJ. "Now where is it? On Pillio?"
"About 50 miles away from the old emperor's observatory used to be. Past lots of waterfalls, and there it will be. Sssss-sitting on the water, waiting for you."
I nod. "Go." I look at the pilots. "Get him out of here." The pilots nod and lead him towards one of their ships. I had an extra door reinstalled, learning from the Resistance's mistake. The door is on the roof, making it only possible to get in and out of here on a ship. And we fixed and sealed the door shut that was broken from our own canon. Nothing is getting in or out through that door.
"Commander Hux."
He steps forward. I turn round. "Get ships ready for Pillio, we leave now."
"Sir, I'm afraid we can not."
"What? Why!"
"The ships that you need aren't exactly ready. With such the shortage of staff in engineering, since you've been in charge, we haven't been able to acquire the amount of ships we need to go to Pillio."
"How long?"
"About a week."
I try to stay calm but I don't realize that I'm choking him as I speak, "Get them ready." I say as I let him go and he falls to the ground, gasping for air.
I walk away from him and walk over to more pilots. "Get a ship ready. I'm leaving this God forsaken place." I say angrily. The pilots run ahead to get the ship. I start to walk forward but I stop. I feel a presence, I know this presence all too well, but it's different this time. She feels stronger. The ground starts to shake and rumble. Stormtroopers look at door confused but on habit, they start to point their blasters at the door. There's silence. And then the door starts to open.
