Oh god, oh god, oh god. I'm gonna die.
I put Kaisen down on his crib, finally being out of the clinic and back in our rooms. I laid him down gently and snatched my phone dialling my two favourite girls. "What's up lover boy?" I grinned at Tiffany's voice and quickly explained the situation. "Tiff, I need help. Calvin just asked me out on a date. Like a dinner date." I heard her choke on the other line and I look at it weirdly. "You okay there?" I asked genuinely worried. "Yeah, yeah. Oh my god you two are finally getting a move on. About freaking time."
I rolled my eyes at her and looked back at Kaisen. "Yeah, I don't really know what to do though. I would have called your brother over but he's actually out with Daniel and his family. Is Geneva there?" I actually haven't called my other friends out back home as these last few days of being in the palace have been...interestingly busy and occupying. "She's in the bathroom. Tell me more about what you two are doing, I'll get some stuff with Geneva and help you." My face broke into a huge grin and I couldn't feel any luckier.
"You two are the best."
About 15 minutes later I decided to Skype with the two, showing them my closet which wasn't necessary as both of them already know my closet very well. Now after an hour and a half of preparations, I'm all ready. "Do I look good Tim?" I asked nervously. Timothy smiled behind and petted my shoulder. "You look good Gavin. Plus let's be honest, we all know that whatever you wear, Calvin will probably drool over you anyways."
I couldn't help but smile at that with my face flushing a bit. Timothy gave me another genuine smile and put his hand on my shoulder. "I'm happy for both of you. Really, we all are. Things haven't been easy for the two of you, especially you, and you should never forget those bad days. But, at the same time you two have been getting closer and it's great that you're finally moving a bit forward." I hugged Tim and took in my pack mate's scent. "Thanks man. I appreciate it. Both the speech and keeping an eye on Kai."
He nodded his head and Daniel came back in with Kai in his arms. "I hope you two have fun tonight." I smiled at him and gave the couple a final goodbye before heading out. Our date is just at one of the palace gardens. It's private and romantic which I'm totally into. I mean don't you think it's cute? It's simple and does show his effort.
I walk down through the halls and greeted back all the staff that walked by. I finally found one of the doors that lead to the location and with a nervous heart, I opened it and my smile dropped a bit as I see Calvin with another person. A girl. A girl that seems familiar. They were a bit far away but the wind blew towards my direction and I caught a small whiff of her scent. Then it hit me. It's that girl. That Leslie girl, I've never seen her before but it's definitely the one from that morning.
Looking at the two of them share a laugh makes me feel a bit...insecure? I stared at her and noticed how pretty her blonde hair was. She's tall, seems like a perfect height for Calvin and even though I can't see her clearly, her big smile was gorgeous. Shifting my eyes towards Calvin, I see him grin at her and my heart did something weird again. I look down and took in a big breathe. "It's nothing Gavin, he said there's nothing going on. Plus you two aren't even together and your already being weirdly possessive. It's fine and-"
I suddenly hear Calvin's big laugh from where I stood and see her touching him as his head is thrown back from laughing. I turn around and was about to close the door when I bumped into someone. "Woah, whatcha doing Gavin?" I look up to see Leon staring at me with his eyebrows raised in questioning. "Uhh I was gonna go get something." I tried to move away from him but he caught my shoulder and pulled me back in front of him. The kid seems to have grown taller again. I noticed him staring out the window, looking at the two outside.
"You seem to be running away from your date with my brother. Is it because of Les?" Les, even he's close with her. Of course he knows her too. "What are you talking about?" Leon shook his head smiling. "I can't believe you, you're a horrible liar. It's your date with him, I'm not gonna let you two get awkward and depressed again. Come on, let's fix this so you two can be lovey dovey which you both couldn't experience." I was gonna start to fight to get away but he's already opened the door and yelled out to his brother.
"CALVIN!" Both their heads turned to our direction and I saw Calvin beaming at us. He motioned for us to come over and I looked at Leon who started walking forward. I followed him not wanting to look weird or bothered. They also started walking and we met halfway through. She is pretty that I can't ignore. She was smiling at me and I smiled back, probably awkwardly. "Gavin uh..this is my close friend, Leslie. You've heard of her before." Calvin seems to find it a bit weird now as he seemed less...bubbly let's say.
"It's finally nice to meet you Gavin. I see you've managed to tie this one down." She laughed a little and I followed but awkwardly. Just as I thought things were gonna get weird Leon finally decided that they both need to go. "Well I'm glad you can finally meet my brother's mate Leslie. Say I haven't actually talk to you that much since I got, why don't we leave the love birds on their date yeah?" Leslie nodded and waved at us with another one of her shiny smiles. God this kid's quite good at 15.
I finally turned around to see Calvin smiling softly at me which did wonders again and I smiled looking at his outfit. He was wearing all black and he looks..hmmm. "You look nice." I said quietly not really wanting to look at him. "Thanks. You look really good as well. Ready?" I nodded my head and started to follow him.
There was this giant hedge in front of us and we walked a bit around it to see a big tree with lots of light hanging down and two tables. One was a circular dinner with our plates, candles and empty glasses whereas the other small table held silver containers which I'm guessing has our food in it. I couldn't help but smile at the pretty image in front of me. "You like it?" I turned around and gave him a big smile nodding my head. "Calvin this looks amazing. Thank you, like dude this is actually really nice. This must have taken quite a while do set up."
I turn to look at him but there's this sour look on his face. "Please don't call me dude." I laughed and apologised but I'm probably gonna call him that in the future just to irritate him. He walked towards one of the chairs and pulled it out and I walked over to sit down. We talked about each other as we ate the amazing dish he cooked which I learnt was something he learnt from his mom as it was a dish that got his parents together which was really sweet. How perfect can this night be. Well actually it's not that perfect seeing him and the other girl but it's okay. It's nothing.
"Hey what's wrong?" I looked up surprised to see him staring at me. "Huh?" He tilted his head said, "Your smile dropped all of a sudden, you were just zoning out and your scent...changed a bit sour." My face heated up and I shook my head. "Oh yeah sorry. It's fine I just got distracted I guess." I tried to laugh it off but he squinted his eyes. "Has anyone told you that you're a terrible liar?" I glared at him and retaliated. "Yeah in fact your younger brother did earlier, dude." His face dropped and I couldn't help but laugh a little at it. "Come on, we've been talking this whole time why can't I hear about this one?"
I guess I can just tell him what I feel. Or just ask. "You and Leslie look close." I internally killed myself, that was soooo subtle Gavin. Fuck sake. "Leslie? Oh why did you get jealous?" he teased but I just glared at him and took a sip of my drink. I looked up to see him softly smiling at me. "Oh Gavin what do I do with you. You're too cute." He said reaching over and pinching my cheeks. "Like I said before and I hope you get this stuck in your brain. Me and Leslie, we had a past but you don't need to worry about her or anyone for that matter. Trust me when I say so. You're my mate and I promise your the only one in my heart and head."
My face heated up and my heart and stomach started doing that weird thing again. I grabbed my glass and started drinking quickly. "Whatever, I wasn't jealous.." I drifted off and I look up through my lashes and saw him beaming at me. He stood up and held his hand out which I just stared at. "It's getting cold we should head in. Don't worry about the set up, someone will clean it." I stared at his hand and gulped. I took and and stood up to meet his eyes evenly. "Let's go."
We started walking back to the palace when my heart started pounding again as I realised his is the first time we're holding hands. Come on Gavin it's just holding hands why am I acting like this. At this point I feel like I'll get a heart attack if anything else happens. Good lord I hope my heart will be prepared. Bad Gavin, back to present. We were walking slowly when a breeze passed us and I suddenly started feeling hot.
I stopped walking as my throat suddenly dried up and I felt sweat drip down my neck. What the fuck is going on? "Gavin are you oka-" Calvin stopped and closed his eyes taking a whiff when my eyes grew big. OH SHIT. Please don't tell me I'm having fucking heat. Calvin opened his eyes and I saw red looking back. He immediately dropped my hand and backed away putting his hand on his mouth and nose. "Gav...Gavin..go..you have to go before..GAVIN GO!" He roared at me his eyes turning red again.
He was making sure I get away before things get uncontrolled. I started to run but my body was reacting already that I couldn't go as fast as I could. "Guards!" I yelled at the two who turned their heads quickly at me. Their eyes widened, obviously noticing my state and I was about to tell them about Calvin when I heard him roar all of a sudden. I looked back to see one of the guards calling for Daniel when my vision blurred and I fell into deep darkness.
