I woke up with the sun shining on my face, through a crack in my window. I let my eyes adjust to the bright light and noticed I wasn't on the couch anymore. I slowly sat up on my bed and looked on the ground, noticing that Theo wasn't in his bed. I rubbed my eyes and flopped back down onto my bed, coving my face with my hand to block out the sun. I could hear my door slowly opening, so I sat up and smiled, waiting for whoever it was to come in.
"You're awake, sleepyhead." Theo laughed, walking over to his bed and grabbing his phone. "You know it's like 11 o'clock."
"No, but I do know. What time did I go to sleep?" I asked him, rubbing my head.
"You didn't finish the movie, so around midnight. I had to carry you up here, so that was fun." He smiled, unlocking his phone and typing in something.
"How long have you been up and why didn't you wake me up? Have you have breakfast yet?" I asked him, hoping he hasn't been up to long.
"I woke up like two hours ago and your mum made me breakfast. She's a great cook." He informed me, putting his phone back down beside him. "Are you feeling okay, you don't look to happy."
"Yea, I'm fine. I'm not really a morning person." I told him, getting out of bed and walking over to my closet. "So, you still coming to the party with me tonight?" I asked him, taking out the first clean shirt I could find.
I quickly took off my shirt and put both my arms in the clean one, turning around to face Theo and waited for a reply. When I turned around, I noticed that Theo wasn't even paying attention to me. He was smiling at something on his phone, completely ignoring me.
I rolled my eyes and continued to put my shirt on. Once it was on, I grabbed a pair of socks and instead of putting them on, I threw them in Theo's direction. I was waiting for them to hit him and scare him, but instead the complete opposite happened. He caught them, almost like he knew I was going to throw them.
"How did you catch those?" I asked him, shocked. "I mean, you were so focused on your phone. How did you catch them?"
"I can see out the corner of my eyes, Liam. I'm not that stupid." He laughed, throwing them back to me. "And yea, I'm still coming." He smiled, putting his phone in his front pocket.
"Sweet." I whispered, sitting on the edge of my bed and putting on my socks. "Do you have anything to wear or do you want to borrow something from me?" I asked him, standing up.
"I have some nice clothes in my truck, so I'll wear them." He told me, standing up next to me. "What time are we leaving?"
"Well it ends at 2am and starts anywhere after 9pm, so I was thinking around 11:30pm. Is that good with you?" I asked him, making sure he was happy with that arrangement.
"Sounds perfect. Do you know anyone else who is going?" He asked me, biting the bottom of his lip.
I could smell it on him and just by the way he looked, I could tell he was anxious. I nodded and smiled, trying to make him feel better.
"They're all my friends and they're all super nice. I'll introduce you to them all." I told him, placing my hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to me nervous."
"Okay." He whispered, looking down at the ground. "But if I get to anxious, I might have to leave. I won't drive off without you, but I might just have to go for a walk. It helps me calm down." He informed me.
I just nodded and grabbed my phone, dialling in Mason's number and calling him. I waited for him to answer, but knowing him, he was probably to busy helping Corey get ready for the party. I was expecting to get his voicemail, but just before the last ring rung out, he picked up.
"Liam, what's up?" He asked me, panting on the other side of the phone.
"Just letting you know I have a lift." I laughed, shaking my head. "Why are you so out of breath?"
I was on the other side of the house and I had to run in here and then I couldn't find my phone, so I had to run around and find it. Sometimes I wish I had super hearing like you." He took a deep breath in and out. "So anyways, who's your lift?"
"Theo, he stayed the night here." I told him, looking up at the older boy and smiling.
"Theo as in, 'new kid Theo'?" He asked me, sounding confused.
"Yea, I'll explain when I get there." I told him, tapping my fingers on my bedside table. "Anyways, I'll see you later." I quickly said, trying to end the conversation.
"Alright speak soon, but you have a lot of explaining to do." He told me, making it sound like a threat.
I rolled my eyes and hung up before he could say anything else. I checked the time and saw that it was already, 11:30.
"Wanna go downstairs and maybe play some xbox. I have some pretty cool games and some are really easy, so I think you'll be able to play most of them." I smiled, watching as he smiled back.
There was something about Theo's smile that made me get butterflies whenever he smiled. I put the thought behind me and looked at the ground, trying to stop my cheeks from blushing.
"I know how to play an xbox. I have one at my place." He told me, walking over to my door and stopping as he was about to open it. "Is someone else coming here?" He asked me, slowly stepping away from the door.
"No, what are you talking about?" I asked him, furrowing my eyebrows and standing next to him.
"Did you not hear that? There was a bang downstairs." He told me, his voice shaky and weak.
"It's probably just my mum, it's fine." I told him, grabbing his arm and going over to the door.
"She went to work. Same as your dad." He quickly told me, pulling me away from the door. "Are you sure no one is meant to be here?" He asked me, biting the bottom of his lip again.
"No one was meant to come here." I furrowed my eyebrows, focusing my hearing on whoever was downstairs.
I couldn't hear anyone talking, but I could hear two heartbeats. They were both slow and calm, so they can't be doing anything stressful. I continued to listened, waiting for one of them to talk. No one spoke, but I could hear Cosmo. He was hissing at something and then finally, one of them spoke.
"Why's Cosmo hissing? Scott, stop flashing your eyes you're scaring him." Stiles said, annoyance in his voice.
"Well, I'm trying to see if Liam's here and he is, but it's not just him. There's someone else here with him." Scott said, walking slowly up the stairs.
"Maybe Hayden finally noticed him." Stiles replies, making me blush.
"Can you not, think about that sort of stuff." Scott laughed, standing right in front of my door.
I opened the door and both Scott and Stiles stood there, looking at me with a shocked expression held on their faces. I looked at them confused, waiting for them to explain what they were doing here.
"It's not her." Stiles said, pointing to me and Theo.
I looked at Theo and realised I was still holding onto his arm, so I quickly let go. I looked at them both and shook my head, walking over to them and pushing them both out of my way.
"Why are you guys here?" I asked through a clenched jaw. "And what you saw, that was nothing. He was scared, so I was trying to calm him down." I let them know before they started to question me about it.
"Well I mean, I was expecting it to be Hayden." Stiles told me, looking at Scott and then back to me.
"I know, I heard." I told him, making him nod his head. "So, why are you here?"
"You didn't pick up any of my calls, so I got worried." Scott told me.
"what you haven't tried to call me." I told him, pulling out my phone and seeing that I have five missed calls from both, Scott and Stiles. "Why didn't I hear it?"
"Maybe you were to busy, with whoever that is." Stiles told me, making me growl.
"His name is Theo and we are just friends." I told them both, stretching out the word, friends. "So, what do you need or want."
"We think something bad is going to happen and we were just checking up on you. Just in case it was something, supernatural." He started to explain, looking behind him and watching as Theo just stood there, smiling and waving. "Where'd you find him?" He asked me.
"New kid at school." I told him, smiling back at Theo. "How do you know this?" I asked him, trying to get him back on track.
"Right, because last night I heard someone downstairs and when I went down there, Lydia was there. When I asked what she was doing, she j-"
"She just screamed." Stiles cut Scott off, finishing Scott's sentence. "What? I had to say something."
"Whatever, but then she told me something bad was coming." Scott told me, pulling out his phone. "And next time when I call you, please pick up."
"I will." I told him, pulling out my phone and holding it in my hand. "I'll keep an eye out for anything unusual or suspicious." I told him, looking at Stiles and shaking my head.
"Be careful." He whispered, placing a hand on my shoulder and smiling. "Have fun at the party."
I chuckled and smiled, nodding to let him know I would. Scott looked at Stiles and nodded, walking down the stairs and Stiles followed behind him. I looked over at Theo and felt the need to tell him what was going on, so he didn't hurt, but I can't. I can't bring him into this supernatural world, so I guess I'll just have to protect him myself.
I'll make sure nothing happens to him. I'll make sure I protect everyone.
