Pha's POV
Note: I had a hard time working on this heart breaking part and had to take many breaks before i could complete it today. Great ending though. I suggest that you don't read it when you are working or in the classroom. Anyways, thank you for your kind support and patience thus far. Enjoy reading it krub!
And sorry that this part is a bit longer than usual :-)
After Ming and Kit left, I was all alone in front of the gate of this one big house.
I've learned that waiting for the one I loved was the most difficult bit, and I wanted to get used to the feeling, knowing that my Wayo, the one who did not want to see my face, was with me even where he was not by my side. If I died, I would still wait for him and hoped he knew that, no matter how long. I would watch from beyond to make sure he lived every year he had to its fullest and then we would have so much to talk about when I saw him again.
The hot heat of the sun began to burn my skin as I insisted on being here waiting for him. After a while, I saw a piece of paper appeared from the window I had been staring for a long time. The paper read "Go away". My tears began flowing on my cheeks. He still cares for me although he no longer wanted to see my face. I took the phone out of my pocket and started texting him that "I will not leave. Please talk to me." I waited a bit but did not receive any replies. And then paper on the window has gone too.
It was hard being left behind and also hard being the one who stayed. Giving up was an option and I was still standing in front of the gate under the burning heat. Later in the afternoon, my skin became more like a burned than being very tan. I used my palm to wipe the sweat off my face and Wayo still did not let me in. I sent him the millionth message trying to convince him."Yo, we have to talk."; "Wayo, Yo did not do anything wrong, please, come out and talk to me."; "The heat is about to kill me now :-("; "Do you still love me, Yo?"
My phone was deadly silent because there was no response from him at all. I wiped the sweat from my face again. I started sweating badly. My throat was dying of water and my lips was very dried. At this rate, I could faint any minutes now but I still could not get into his heart. This scene must be pitiful and heart breaking because once in a while one guard shouted at me. "Just go home and come back tomorrow." And another yelled that "Go home krub." Occasionally they were worried about me and asked "You want something to eat?" or "You're thirsty?"
Though I was hungry and thirsty, I showed no signs of giving up. I just shook my head and said I did not need anything. At this moment I only need one thing. It was to meet Wayo face to face. I wanted to see him smile again. I wanted to hug him tightly, and tell him that despite what happened, I loved him still. But I could do nothing right now except walking back and forth in front of his house. If Yo was playing this game with me, I would definitely never give up. If I surrendered now, I would lose him forever.
After a long period of waiting, a luxurious foreign made car arrived and was heading to enter the house. The passenger sitting at the back rolled down the car window and it showed a familiar face that was looking at me. His serious look gave me goose bumps and cold feet. I did not know if I was standing for too long but my legs were suddenly stiff and I could not make a move at all. When I came back to my sense, I lifted his hands and greeted him as a sign of my highest respect. I must say that Yo's handsomeness came from his father and he was inherited the beauty of his mother. His father looked very noble and kind though a shiver ran down my spine as he gazed at me. He did not show any expression or say anything. Then he rolled up the car window and ordered his driver to enter the house as I sighed deeply.
This was a crazy day and was full of drama because Wayo was avoiding me. I supposed his father did not like me at all reading from his facial expression earlier. I sighed heavily again as I felt I was running out of luck. As it was getting dark, the security guards started changing their working shift. I saw a few new faces and one new enemy. My enemy number one was the mosquito. While my stomach started growling loudly and more frequently, more mosquitoes became aggressive too. My pain from hunger and mosquitoes was bearable. Certainly I could handle and endure this and I would do anything to get to meet my Wayo. At this moment, I was sitting beside the gate in front of the security CCTV. Placing my head on my knees, I let the irrational tears fall unrestrained as if I was mourning my dashed hope, my dashed dream and my dashed expectations. Then the gate suddenly swung open. At first I thought it was Yo, but when I looked again more closely, the person was bigger than Yo. That was Wayo's daddy.
Now he only had a T-shirt on with his shorts. He looked rather fresh like he just came out of the bathroom. The security guards in a suit and tie quickly showed the highest respect for the man wearing the shorts. As his daddy was walking toward me, I was officially stunned. I could not find any strength to stand up and greeted him. Any parts of my body was partially paralyzed. And my mind was trying to figure out if he was still angry about what happened to Wayo or he wanted to beat for what happened to his only son. Even if he wanted to beat me to death, I would never fight back. It was totally my mistake and I was prepared to receive all the punishment.
When he was standing in front of me, I gathered all my breath and was ready to accept my verdict. To my surprise, his daddy said, "Sawadee krub" and helped me to stand up. As I tried to stand up and greet him, I still could not believe what I heard. I quickly greeted him and said "Sawadee krub." He then said, "You have become a very handsome man." His last sentence threw me into a puzzle as if he have met me before. I could not comprehend what was happening now because it did not seem that he was angry at all. No signs of animosity or hostility. Everything sounded very pleasant. I said, "Sorry sir for" and before I completed my sentence, he cut me off and said, "Call me daddy okay." I wondered if I was delusional due to dehydration or because I was bitten by some crazy mosquitoes. Or maybe I did not hear it correctly, but I managed to stay calm and asked him gently, "You meant daddy as like dad. Also, have you ever seen me before?" I knew that I did not sound confident but I had to clarify it with him. "You're the only one my son had his eyes on. How can I miss the chance to see you now?"
As he noticed that my legs were in pain trying to stand up straight, he lowered down and pulled me to sit next to him on the ground. "I knew everything about my son including the person he's dating." He smiled and continued, "I have learned about you since you were in high school. When you were buying some snack from the store, in front of the school and my son asked me to slow down the car so that he can see your face. From that moment I realized that my son did not women at all." I smiled at him but inside, I was still very much afraid of this daddy.
"I am very shocked by what happened to my Wayo earlier." Daddy's tone became very serious as he raised his fists. I could sense his strong feeling which was similar to mine. "Thank you so much Pha for handling the situation nicely and defending my Wayo. Had I not been working at that moment, I would have helped you to send that bastard back to where he came from." I had a mixed feeling after hearing this. I was happy that he was on my side but he also made me realized that I should never cheat on his or our Wayo if I want to live for another day. "I was told that you've been waiting here all day now because Yo did not let you meet him. But you did not give up or go away even though it was not your fault from the start" he said. It was true that I was waiting half a day now. Even for a while was a phrase whose length could not be measured. At least by the person who was waiting. "I really wanted to talk to Yo to clear things up" I replied sympathetically. "I really wanted him to know that I don't mind what happened at all." Daddy looked into my eyes trying to figure out if I meant what I just said. "You won't mind it at all?" He asked. "Absolutely, not at all." I answered confidently. "You won't be embarrassed by what happened to Yo?" He asked me again. "100% No" I answered without hesitation again.
Daddy then looked at me for a few seconds and smiled. He gently patted me on the shoulder and said "Don't look down on him ok." I quickly said "I promise, Sir. I've waited here for a long time and as I said before that I will not be embarrassed by or let anyone embarrass Wayo. Never. "I said with my respect. He suddenly stood up and said, "Alright then. Come here." He tried to lift me up and walked toward the door. I got up and followed him from behind hesitantly. As we entered compound, I slowed down and paused a bit. Daddy noticed my hesitation so he turned back and said with a bright smile on his face, "You should come in here." I smiled at daddy as I continued following him. I wanted to express my gratitude. My heart was pounding more quickly as we were reaching the main door. As soon as we set foot in the house, I saw my Yo running up the stairs and shouted at his daddy. "Dad, I told you not to let him in. Why did not you send him away?" He immediately ran into his room and slammed the door shut angrily. Yo's father ignored him completely and told me to go up to Yo's room. He laughed and jokingly said, "Do not scratch the floor in the house." I just nodded and smiled.
After thanking daddy, I quickly walked up the stair and headed to Yo's room. It was not hard to find the young master's room. It was at the end of the hall and I knew it was his room because there was a big picture of "One Piece" manga poster on the door. I knocked and tried to open the door, but it was locked. "Yo, open the door for me krub," I shouted. "Go away." He replied and I realized that he was crying because of his cracked voice. "Please Yo." And I continued, "It will be easier if you open the door for us to talk face to face. If you do not open the door, I'll be here and I'll wait for you right here." I sat down and leaned my back against the door. It was a long day but air conditioning here was helping me a bit. I was very tired but sitting here was a lot easier than sitting outside. "Please, Pha, please go. I am begging you. Please." That sound seemed to be so close to me. My Wayo must be leaning against the door on the other side of the wall too. "Yo, please let me talk to you sweetie." My tears started rolling on my face again. "I really want you to go." He insisted.
Suddenly, a miraculous event happened as I saw a key landing next to my leg. When I looked up, I realized it was not a miracle from the sky. It was daddy who threw me the spare key. In a low voice I said thank you. I unlocked the door quietly, turned the door knob and opened the door. Luckily, Yo was no longer leaning against the door. If not, I would have got another mistake for him to be mad at me. Yo was hugging his knees crying near the window. I also saw a pile of papers stacked on the floor. It seemed he wrote them all afternoon, but he did not stick all of them on the window. As soon as he saw me, he desperately tried to run away but I grabbed his hand just on time tightly. He turned his tearful face towards me and shouted, "Let me go." And he pushed me away and ran toward his bed. He grabbed a pillow and put it on his face as if he did not want me to see it. I tried to touch him, but he immediately brushed my hand away and said "Do not you touch me." I felt so hurt that my heart was about to explode when I saw him in tears. I felt his pain. It hurt us so badly as we both cried in despair and sadness.
He was still crying when he said that, "I do not deserve you, P'Pha." He continued, "I am so dirty and you deserve better. Much better." I hurt me so badly when I heard that. "Yo baby" I pulled his pillow away and tried to hug him, but he resisted and pushed me back with all his power. He tried to push me back again but his full strength was no match to mine though I went through a lot today. I kissed him on his head to let him know that I did not mind whatever happened to him. I reached out and grabbed his hand and held it to me, right over my heart, right where it ached the most. I did not know if doing that would heal me or made my broke entirely, but either way this constant hungry waiting would be over. And I then said passionately that, "Yo, P' loves you very much. More than Romeo loved his lover Juliet." Wayo tried to hit me again but I dodged him this time. I then leaned in and whispered to his ears softly, "I love you so very much and how many times do I have to you tell you that even when you are crying, you are still beautiful too. Yo is still so pure as far as I am concerned."
After hearing this, he seemed to be a bit calm and stopped resisting me. I looked deeply into his eyes and wiped his tears. "But P'Pha, I really could not remember anything as if I've been drugged." He said in a broken voice. I quickly said, "It is okay. It's fine now." I hugged him tight to calm him down and comfort him at the same time. "But P'Pha I swear I do not know what he did to me. I am telling you the truth here." I replied while hugging him, "Shhhhhh, I know ... I know." I hated myself for leaving him alone that night. If I had not gone to fetch Pring that night, my Wayo would not have to suffer like that now.
Suddenly, I found a clue I was looking for this whole time. Pring was a missing piece in this puzzle. Something was so close to me that I overlooked. The speculations and rumor began to appear in my mind. I went to fetch up Pring and that was the perfect time for that bastard Park to enter Yo's room. All my anger began to return to me as I raised my fists. I could not believe she could do that to me as her friend and classmate. "Yo, baby listen to me." I spoke slowly while I held him tight.
Yo looked at me with his eyes full of tears. I started to whisper softly, "Yo, please do not think about this anymore. You know that none of us wanted this to happen. So let's stop punishing ourselves. It's important that we love each other and care for each other." He said, "But ... now ... The whole school will think I am a shitty person. And if you go with me your reputation will be badly affected." I said, "If they accuse or blame you, I am willing to give up my university Moon title. I do not care about it anymore because all I care about now is you." Yo said that, "But P'Pha ... you are going to lose ..." I did not let him finish his sentence as I put my finger to shush him, "Shhhh. I do not care." I said it repeatedly. "Yo will have to go to school with P' tomorrow. It will let people know that we are really dating and that rumors on websites or blogs are not true." I held his hand and hugged him firm. I won't let you hurt again. I wanted to show him that I cared only about him.
Time flew and the clock hit 3AM now. I was still awake and trying to look for the FA gang number. I needed to call them and asked them to help my Wayo.
"Hi, Montri, please tell everyone the truth ... I am begging you na."
"Is it you, P'Pha? Of course I will help you." Montri answered.
"... Help me, help my boyfriend please."
I knew the rumor was always spreading real fast. Right now I hoped that the truth was spreading even faster. And now I was going to tell everyone the truth. The truth about me and my Wayo!
