JOHN'S (THE ALPHA'S) POV:
I was shocked when Emily didn't listen to me when I told her to stop her attacks. Now the pack and I are all waiting to see how much damage was done to Kayla. In the middle of interrogating the pack members on their views of the fight, that was until Tony flooded the pack bonds with images of what happened. When he was finished the pack that wasn't involved turned growling and snarling on those who were.
"How could you?!" "He's just a pup! A BABY!" "Kayla got what she deserved!" Emily shouldn't have stopped with just her!" "We are so disappointed in you guys." The pack was drilling the kids involved, who have their heads hung low. Maby I spoke too soon, there are three of them with their heads held high as if they are proud of what they did.
"We have only tried to help the pack by weeding out the weak links." Tyler said, he is 5'10 with green dyed hair and hazel eyes with a lip piercing on his right side. "The pup needs to learn to be stonger and find some courage." Freddy spat, he is 6'0 with dark brown hair and blue eyes. Molly came forward shaking her head at the boys. She whispered through our mate bond, 'Emily is just in the next room. I don't know how much she can hear of this now. But what I do know is that if she is listening we may have to fight the pack to stop her from hurting these dumb asses.'
I nodded my head in agreement with my mate. Emily's become protective of the little wolf cub that if these fools didn't learn their lesson by watching her tear into Kayla they will never learn. Thanks to being an alpha I can check on individual pack members so I decided to look and see if Tony was awake and thankfully he was not. So I brought my attention back to what was going on in front of me.
"Psh. He is just a runt. One no one wants around anyway! So what's the problem with exerting a little of our frustrations out on him?" Amanda sneered, she is 5'5 with curly caramel hair with a darker shade eyes. Not only is she one of those vile wolves, her sister is Kayla. Molly and I had, had enough but before we could say anything all heads turned to the hall where wood was breaking.
MOLLY'S POV:
Where the hall was once clean now sported wood fragments from a door and I think we all know who was coming. Due to the looks on the pack's faces they knew as well, they even made a path for her before she even entered the room. All of the kids except those three individuals were all cowering trying to be smaller and invisible. John shot the three that remained standing a look of warning. 'Junior is trying to calm her before she does something like she did to Kayla so I believe it wise to keep quiet.' He spoke to those of the pack members that were in the room with us.
But of course some need to learn the hard way. "Why is everybody so concerned with the MONSTER who has decided to take care of good as dead pup?" Amanda smiled while the others burst out laughing. Of course all three froze when a bone chilling roar that shook the house and pierced our sensitive ears came from the hall.
When our ears stopped ringing we could focus on a very pissed Emily standing in the door way. Her tiny frame was shaking violently, with nostrils flaring and pitch black eyes. When a wolf has taken over their eyes glow but the human side is still there but, when their eyes are black the wolf is in full control and usually death is the punishment to offenders.
John looked from the kids who looked ready to defend themselves and Emily who looked ready to kill. Everyone was tense and fearful, "Easy everyone. No one make any sudden moves and keep your mouths shut. Give her time to calm down." I spoke slowly and quietly as to not set her off. All our eyes were on her watching for any sign of attack.
Amanda is most definitely Kayla's sister, "Hmph. Just go crawl back with your little abomination while you can. You should just be glad that you made it in time or we might have ki...." She didn't even finish when Emily launched herself at the girl. The pack was scrambling to get out of the way and was blocking my mate and I from stopping her.
Time seemed to freeze when we heard Amanda scream and another roar. Silence seemed to descend leaving the only sound of Emily's grunts, growls and snarls. The pack was watching with curiosity shinning in their eyes while I was pushing them out of the way. What I saw made no sense what so ever to me. Junior was standing between Emily and Amanda with shock prominante on his face and Amanda passed out behind him. Tony had his little arms wrapped around Emily's legs and a pack member named Kody had his arms around her waist whispering soothing words to her. Kody is 6'2 with dirty blond hair that was spiked in the front only and milk chocolate colored eyes.
John bent down to whisper in my ear, "Do you see that look in Kody's eye? Maby he can get her calm if they are what I think they are." I looked into his eyes and saw that Kody had that same look males get when they have found their mate. My eyes grew wide while I nodded.
KODY'S POV:
I was standing against a wall while the pack was glaring at those idiots who have no morals. Though I wasn't really paying attention. It wasn't that I was pissed like everyone else just that ever since my wolf caught a sweet strawberry scent he has been hounding me to find the source. A savage roar pulled me out of my thoughts for me to clamp my hands to my poor abused ears.
When the ringing subsided I looked to where the roar originated to find a very pissed chic. 'MATE! MATE!' My wolf kept yelling while he jumped for joy. 'Hold on there Casanova she looks pissed about something and it looks like she is ready to murder.' With that he stopped all chanting and jumping to take an assessing look at our mate.
'Something has her wolf in total control. If we get close maby she will scent us if she's not too far gone into her rage.' 'That's a big if there buddy.' 'If it helps mate I don't care!' For once I was in agreement with him. With a nod to myself I was brought back to reality once again and just in time to hear Amanda say,"Why is everybody so concerned with the MONSTER who has decided to take care of good as dead pup?". Another roar sounded and when the girl who let it loose lunged at Amanda my instincts kicked in and I wrapped my hands around her waist pulling her against me.
She started snarling and growling along with grunting trying to get out of my hold. Junior was standing between the angel in my arms and Amanda so I knew that she wouldn't die today. But what surprised me was the sound of whimpering. I know that I wasn't holding my mate too tight so I looked around until it hit me. Tony was supposed to be sleeping in the next room with Junior as his guard along with a she-wolf named Emily.
'Emily. So that's our mate's name.' My wolf purred. Smiling to myself that I had figured out her name with out asking her to tell me what it was. I leaned down so that my lips skimmed against her ear, "Emily, sweetie. You need to calm down. There is no threat to you or your pup. Tony is wrapped around your leg right now and he needs you to calm down."
She snarled, "Need to protect pup. Destroy one who wants pup dead!" 'Distract her!' My wolf sounded like he had just figured out how a woman's mind works. But, I had one problem, 'How?' He sighed like it should be obvious to me, 'Turn her around and look into her eyes. Her wolf will recognize us as her mate. Then her attention will be on us and not her prey!'
He sounded so sure of himself so I did what he said. I put my arms on either side of her waist then with just enough force to get her in the direction I wanted her to go, I turned her around to face me. Her eyes were pitch black and trying to look anywhere she could to see Amanda. "Emilly." I purred and even I could tell that my voice was huskier than normal.
She snapped her eyes to look at me when our gazes locked. Her breathing hitched as she took in my facial features. "Mate." Was all that she said, earning some gasps from the pack as well as some awe's. I watched as Emily's eyes went from pitch black to glowing blue then to settle on green. She was beautiful to me and I could already feel the love for her deep within me start to rise.
"Mommy. Are you ok now?" Tony looked up sniffling. We broke eye contact to look down at the little pup whose eyes were full of worry. Emily smiled at him then reached down to pick him up, "Yes Tony. Mommy's alright, she just had to make sure that no one would take you away from me." She glared at the pack when she spoke that last sentence. You could tell that some of them were afraid of my little mate but others showed signs of respect.
'Mate's fine now. Mark mate. Mount mate. Make her ours!' My wolf was fighting me for control while chanting over and over. Luckily before he could gain control the doc came in and a silence fell upon the room. The doc looked up from wiping off his hands to get them free of blood. Doc's real name is unknown by all except the alpha's but even they call him doc. He is a stout, bald man with grey eyes that still hold a glimmer of youth in them.
With a sigh from him the tension rose to new heights as the pack expected the worse. But he just chuckled, "Easy everyone. Kayla will be okay in about six months. Her spine has taken a lot of damage. I would say that if Emily hadn't let go when she did Kayla may not ever walk again. For now it is best that she not walk at all while her spine heals itself as for her blood loss, she is hooked up for transfusions and is now in a medicine induced coma."
It seemed that everyone let out the breath that they were holding, of course that didn't include Emily or Tony. All eyes were on the alpha to see what punishment Emily would recieve. My wolf did not like the thought of our mate being punished for Kayla's stupidity. 'We will protect mate! No one will harm her!' I didn't even bother trying to talk him into calming down because I agreed with what he was saying. The alpha turned to Emily with a blank expression and I fought hard to hold back a growl that was rising out of my throat.
"Emily. Because you have harmed Kayla our laws dictate that those who harm without a very good reason you are to be punished. However it has come to my attention that you were protecting your pup, so you shall not receive punishment but you and your mate will be required to participate in the mating run in a few days to make your mating official." Molly spoke up when Emily looked shell shocked, "For now though you, Tony and Kody are to head to Kody's room and rest since you found it necessary to utterly destroy your door." That earned our Luna a few snickers and laughs.
My wolf was over joyed to have our mate in our personal territory. 'Alpha said that we can claim mate in the mating run! We will be able to take her and make her ours and we become hers!' I smiled at the thought of mating our gorgeous mate in a few days. On the way to my room I saw Emily stagger, "Emily. Are you ok?" She looked up and smiled, "Yes just tired. Your my mate?" I nodded my head enthusiastically, "Yes love. We are mates." Her smile seemed to light up her face when I confirmed that we were mates. "Kody. Can you help me to the room?" She blushed.
My wolf and I purred at the sound of my name on her lips. Without saying anything I scooped her up and started walking to the room. Tony grabbed my hand, surprising me because I forgot all about him. I looked down and he was rubbing his eyes, "Can you carry me to daddy?" Daddy? Well he has been calling Emily mommy so I guess i'm his new daddy. 'Yes he is now our pup. We protect and love our pups.' I gave him a small smile, "Sure son." When I picked him up he curled into Emily's arms with a sleepy smile on his face. I was afraid my face would crack with the smile that invaded my face at the sight of my mate and son in my arms. It amazed me how fast I accepted the little pup into my heart but now I couldn't stop thinking of Emily and my future pups.
The females of our kind can have up to five pups at a time so we usually have big families unless rouges and hunters are involved. We haven't had any attacks in a long time but even so our fighter wolves are always training new recruits to protect the pack. When I got to my door thankful that I left it open Emily and Tony were already asleep so I laid them on the bed trying my hardest not to wake them. A sigh escaped my lips when I accomplished my goal but when I tried to move away to get my pajamas I had to gently pry two hands off one belonging to Emily the other to Tony.
I came back out after a few minutes in the shower and getting dressed. The sight warmed my heart my mate was in a pink spagetti strap shirt with a pair of white short shorts with a monkey head on the side and my pup in nothing but a shirt that must have belonged to Emily. I crawled into the bed beside Emily just to have her roll over putting Tony in between us and getting as close to me as possible. I turned off my bedside lamp and fell into a dream about the mating run and my future with my mate. Little did I know that there were going to be some big surprises in the months to follow.
