My whole body hurts, seriously P'Pha ..... I sigh.
Wait why is my head pounding? My arm's numb and why does it feel like a needle is stuck in my hand? I slowly open my eyes and look around.
Okay not my room, P'Pha's heads on my numb arm and there really is a needle in my hand, shit. I want a drink.
My throats dry but I manage to call P'Pha who jolts up and looks at me.
"Yo." he says kissing my cheek.
"P'Pha...I want water."
He pushes a button and a nurse and doctor come in, they check things, ask questions and its ages before they let me have a drink.
And they woke everyone, wait whys everyone here?
When my dad comes in a few minutes later, I tell him.
"Dad I want to go, they won't let me have a drink without 20 questions!"
He just smiles and pats my cheek looking relived.
"Yo, look how many fingers?" Ming's asking showing me his hand.
"Who are you?" I ask
He freezes looking at me. "Yo has amnesia and forgot me."
He looks ready to cry. Shit. "He forgot me p..." he's telling P'Kit, who's looking at me worried.
"P'Kit please control your idiot, I have a headache."
"You were faking? I nearly cried shitty Yo!" Ming yells
"I don't think amnesia could make me forget you stupid best friend." I smile
"Of course! Were like Sherlock and Watson, Tin Tin and Snowy, Snoopy and Woodstock...."
"Isn't it Charlie Brown and Snoopy?" P'Forth's asking.
"I'm Sherlock." I say fast
"Oi shitty Yo, that's me!"
When I ask what happened, there is silence. A different doctor comes in to talk to dad, and they run tests, and a scan and more talking to dad. P'Pha stays with me; he keeps looking at everything they're doing.
I wake up back in the room, I think I fell asleep after the scan; P'Pha's sitting on the sofa on his phone.
My heads hurting again, why? I look at the moving curtain, I can see light peeking in through the bottom, I see something in the corner and remember a shadow moving, and it all comes back. I sit up breathing hard, shaking. I can hear P'Pha, "It's okay, It's okay" He's hugging me. I'm okay.
I take deep breaths and calm down, I'm not alone, P'Pha's here, my friends are here, I got help and my dad's here. I'm okay.
"P'Pha did you sleep?" I ask leaning a little back to look at him. "You look tired and did you eat? We were going to have breakfast." I sigh.
"I'm okay Yo." he chuckles. "I'll get whatever you want to eat."
"What time is it?" I ask looking around. "Where's everyone?"
"It's still early, they went to eat..."
"Without us?" I ask outraged. "I smell food."
"There across the hall..."
I start getting up, but P'Pha try's stopping me, I ignore him, I want food dam it!
The needle is out, that doctor said leave it, but I made a sad face at dad who made him remove it. Me 1 – Doctor 0
I'm a little light headed when I stand but it passes, P'Pha has his arm around me as we go. I made a sad face at him, he gave in as well. I realize I'm new pyjamas, with pirate ships.... father.
"That's friendship for you, eating without me." I say walking in.
They all ask how I am but are quite around me, I don't like it. I worried them, I don't like to see my friends upset, not because of me.
I take Ming's plate; it's closest and start eating.
"Oi Yo..." he begins, but I give him a sad look. "Shitty Yo! Stop using my tactics!"
I laugh, Ming know me too well. P'Beam is acting weird, dam it.
"If you're going to be like this I'm going back to the other room." I snap standing.
P'Pha catches me and gently helps me sit again. "No standing up fast Yo." he says worried.
Slowly they all start talking, it's just normal chatting but it's good.
I grab P'Beam's arm as he walks past. "Why are you being extra weird?"
"Yo.." he sighs
"Yes you are. Did I do something to you? Did I ruin your favorite shirt.."
"You were bleeding and...." He's upset.
"You going to be a doctor you can't fear blood." I tell him
"I don't... but it's different when the person hurt is a friend." He says patting my shoulder.
"I ....."
"I'm glad you're ok." He says
"P'Beam please stop being nice it's weird." I sigh.
He smiles and seems relieved, then smirks at me. "Nong Yo, if you wanted to jump me all you had to do was ask."
Is it bad, I find this normal???
"P'Forth! P'Beam says he wants to be jumped!" I say
"Beam all you have to do is ask, I'm happy to oblige." P'Forth's smiling; everyone chuckles while P'Beam's rolling his eyes.
I look around, dad and P'Sing are talking to someone, the others are still here talking, I'm lying down again. I feel bad they all have classes right. I smile when P'Pha asks if I want a drink, I do.
"How you feeling Yo?" P'Sing asks, he looks worried and tired.
"Okay, just a headache." I smile, but then make a sad face till he smiles at me.
P'Sing chuckles, he wants to ruffle my hair, but pats my cheek.
"Yo, this is Lee, he's a friend, and he needs to ask you a few things, okay?"
"Sure." I say greeting P'Lee, who's looking curiously between me and P'Sing.
Dad comes to sit next to me and I realise the others are listening; Ming comes to stand near me. oh that talk.
He asks what happened, I tell him about waking up to when P'Beam opened the door. P'Pha's, holding my hand; he looks more pissed the more he hears. It all feels hazy, like a dream, but I remember being scared and that I had to get help.
I grab dad's hand, they wait till I calm down before going on.
P'Lee asks questions, what time did my gang leave? Was it planed they would be there? Who knew? If they hadn't been there would I have been alone? Do I know many people from my floor? And more.
He asks where I left my phone, I tell him it was charging in my room. He moves to talk to P'Sing, but a weird notion comes to me, should I tell them?
"Umm p." I start
Both P'Sing and P'Lee look at me.
"I think the guy in my room and the one on the stairs were different." I say slowly, rubbing my head.
P'Lee pauses before he shares a look with P'Sing and they start talking quietly.
"Dad who is that guy?" I ask, tugging his sleeve.
"Sings head of security."
"Why does he need one?"
"He's working for me now, he needs people."
"P said friend."
"They met at university, he followed Sing here." Dad replies taping my nose, he did that often when I was little.
I hug dad, I realise I don't do it often enough, he's been worried. I bet he was super busy but he came here for me.
"Hugs from Wayo, should I be worried?" He's smiling.
"Father...." I sigh, he chuckles.
Dad, P'Sing and P'Lee are sitting together talking, P'Kit and P'Beam are working on a laptop, P'Forth and Ming are talking and eating snacks they just brought back and P'Pha's trying to feed me. It's just late morning, maybe I should try sleeping.
"Say ahh yo."
I smile and eat, he pouts if I don't, he keeps trying to hug me after I hugged dad. Honestly.
The door bangs open.
"Bitch Yo! How dare you get attacked without telling us!" Monty yells walking in, my gang's here and Rome's with them.
"E'Yo do have any idea how worried we were?"
"It's not like I planned it!" I yell back
Everyone's backed off, letting me handle my gang, my dad and P'Lee are watching silently on the side. Even P'Pha's moved...
"Yo, you okay?" Rome's asks looking worried. "You missed class and wouldn't answer or text back."
"What happened?" Elephant asks, there all around me. "Just let him have a moment, he was really worried."
"P'Forth told, P'Maprang, who told, P'In who told' P'Din who told me." Monty yells
"Your angry cause you weren't first to know?" I shout
"Yo what are you wearing?"
"Who are they?" Crow asks, the rest turn to look at the new people. My father and P'Lee share a look.
All heads snap to me. "You know those hot guys don't you E'Yo." Monty's glaring.
"I just met one!" I defend
"We rushed here worried about you, while you're here with hot guys!"
"The older p in the suit is defiantly hot." They're all nodding.
"Stop ogling my father!" I yell
They look at me, then dad, then me, then dad then me.
"You definitely didn't get your fathers looks E'Yo."
"If you had you might have been the university moon." There all agreeing.
"Your more cute, not enough handsome." There all nodding!
"You bastards! Get out." I yell. The headaches back...
