Forth POV
"Ok Bas be a good boy, Yo's coming to help." I call, getting his bottle.
Just hearing Yo's name he calms down, you're not the only one kid. Having Yo around makes you somehow feel better.
Oh shit that hurt, seriously I can't even lift a small tub with this hand yet? It's just baby milk dam it.
I run for the door when it rings.
"Thank god Yo, he needs milk..." it's not Yo, shit its Beam.
"Why are you here?" He just gives me that look and walks in. Shit I'm not ready to deal with this.
"So you need to make him milk?" He asks looking around. "Where's the kitchen?"
He looks into the rooms and finds it walking in. he's reading the instruction on the tin.
"You don't need to, Yo's coming."
"I told him I'd help you, so he's studying." Shit.
"I don't need your help Beam."
Bas finds that moment to cry, I go over to him in the sitting room and try to calm him, but he wants picking up. I really can't with one arm in a sling.
Beam comes over and awkwardly but gently picks up Bas, who stops crying to look at the new comer.
"Hi, you have a name?"
He's actually just talking to the baby like you would an adult. It's not cute at all!
"It's Bas." I say going back to the kitchen. I manage to make his milk bottle, surprisingly Bas doesn't cry.
It takes a little manoeuvring for Beam to sit and try to feed him, but he won't drink the milk.
"What's wrong baby? I know you're hungry." I say
No matter how Beam tries he won't drink it. I carefully sit next to him and hold the bottle to feed him, he starts drinking, the minute I hand it to Beam, Bas stops.
Even the baby is messing with me. I carefully sit next to them and hold the bottle.
I'm grounding you till your 10 little guy, you wait and see, but then he grabs my little finger in his fist and fine I won't ground him.
"What happened to your arm?" Beam asks quietly.
"Accident at camp, some of the first years were messing about." God I missed being this close to him.
"I told you those things weren't safe Forth!" he snaps
"It was an accident." I defend
"You never listen, what if something worse had happened." I missed this.
The baby starts to fuss when Beam raised his voice we quieten down.
"Is he yours?" He asks quietly.
"Yes." Well he is now.
"With that women?"
"No."
"Why are you staying with her? This is her place right?"
"Bee is gonna take care of Bas. And I wasn't well so..."
"I can take care of you, don't stay here." He snaps.
"We broke up remember, you don't need to do me any favours. Why the hell are you here?"
"You're a moron Forth, you never listen..."
"I don't? Who said fine lets? " I say angrily.
"You said something before that too, and I never wanted to break up, you fu..."
Bas is crying, it takes a while to calm him down and finish his milk. We don't talk. He's getting drowsy. I check on Bee, there gonna be a while, the doctors busy, dam.
Beam tried to burp the baby, who threw up a little milk on him, he needs a new shirt. I go look for a clean tee. I turn and Beams there. He grabs me by the collar looking pissed.
"You're actually sleeping in her room?"
"It's..."
"You say not my business ill kick your ass."
"You..."
"Everything about you is my business, dam it." He snaps.
"Wasn't it all just me?" I ask.
"What was?" He asks letting me go.
"All of this with us. We were drunk the first time and then I went after you, you never really said you wanted to right." I carried on quietly.
"You want a sweet love confession? That's not me." He's pissed.
"Do you even want an us Beam? Did you ever?" I finally asked it, the thing that bothered me most.
"How long have you been thinking this?"
"A while. I tell you all the time, you never say anything, I know it's not you so I never asked but, with this whole thing..."
"I told my father about you fucker. You try running from me now I know how to kill you and make it look like an accident."
And he's kissing me. Fuck I missed him. He pushes me back against the wall, but when my shoulder hits its serious pain.
"Shit, you went pale. How bad was that?"
"Really bad."
"When did you take pain killers?" he asks.
"It's not time for more yet. Shit that hurts."
He comes back with water. He wants to see the report I point to the shelf it's on, he's looking at it.
"It's a lot of bruising.... muscles ...will hurt a while... stiches ... fuck Forth 23."
I grab him with my good arm, hugging him around the waist.
"You told your dad?" his smells calming.
"You said make a choice, of course I was choosing you moron. I just ..... needed time to talk to him, he's scary. And I never agreed to any engagement dam it."
"What he say?"
"He isn't happy, said well talk later. At least he didn't disown me. Let go."
"Don't move Beam my shoulder hurts."
"Bastard." But he stops. "If you slept with her, you shoulder pain will be nothing..."
I smile holding him, god I missed him.
"She's my aunt." I finally tell him.
"Now you're lying to me you bastard." His voice is rising.
"She really is, and Bas well..." I tell him all of it.
"Fuck."
"Beam"
"What?" he snaps.
"You have to stop swearing so much, baby's learn it."
He's totally stunned. "No way."
"Yep"
"Be prepared to hear a lot of it when it's just us then."
He takes off his shirt, I pull him closer by his belt, I place kisses on his abdomen, his chest, but he shoves me away.
"Don't even think about, there's a baby in the other room."
I look up at him smiling; I want to kiss him so bad.
"Moron" He says but leans down to kiss me.
"Oh my." Shit we pull apart; Beam quickly puts on my tee.
"Gran your back, you ok?" I ask.
"She's fine, the doctor said its heartburn nothing to worry about." Bee's telling me.
"And you must be Beam dear." Gran's smiling.
Beams extra charming, he'll learn my gran doesn't fall for that.
"Call me Gran, you're in engineering as well dear?"
"No Gran, I'm medicine. So in a few years you need anything you should come see me."
"A doctor in the family how nice, Bee dear did you hear?" Shit my grans fallen for him.
"I never liked doctors much mother, I prefer science boys, you're better off with Yo, Forth."
"I'm sure Pha will have something to say about that aunty Bee." Shit beam you don't call her that.
"Who's Pha dear?" Gran's interrupting.
"My boyfriend Gran." Yo replies walking in with Bas, who's fussy.
"That's me Gran." Pha says greeting my grandmother all smiles. You bastard charming her into approving you?
"Why do you always show up Pha." I sigh.
"Anywhere my Yo is, I have to follow. You might try kidnapping him again." He's glaring.
"Something we need to talk about Forth." Shit Beams looking pissed again.
"Who kidnapped Yo?" Bees asking
"Oh dear, Yo are you ok?" Gran's asking.
"Why the hell are you here anyway Pha? Go study." I'm giving him the stop talking idiot look.
Beam, Pha, Bee and I talk at the same time.
"Shut it!" Yo yells when Bas starts crying.
He takes him to the sitting room and manages to sing him to sleep again, Pha's sits next to him, watching Yo with an adoring smile.
"I could break them up and make Yo date Forth." Bee adds looking at them.
"Pha will fight you to hell and back, he's been in love with him for years." Beam's telling her.
"Yo could easily be persuaded to change his mind." She adds
"Yo's been in love with Pha and stalking him for years as well."
"Well shit. I'll find someone better for my Forth." She's not backing down.
"Try all you like, but Forth is mine." Beam answers
"Pfft, talk to daddy first little boy." She snickers.
"I already did aunty, I'm sticking around."
They're both not backing down. This could go anyway, and I'm in the middle of it...
"If this was a cartoon there would be sparks coming out of their eyes." Gran's smiling.
"Gran tell Bee to cool it." I sigh
"This is more fun dear." She says patting my cheek. "He made you sad; it will take a while before Bee approves him. You're her favourite you know."
"Yours's as well Gran?" I ask smiling.
"Of course." She laughs kissing my cheek.
There's a knock at the door a little while later, Bee goes to open it.
"You think the boys left something dear?" Gran's asking me.
Bee comes back with Fon.
"I got offered an admission at a dance school in Paris, mum would never have let me go, but now I can. I want to go."
We all look at each other, I move near Bas, oh little guy.
"Well dear let's talk it over with your grandfather I'm sure we can arrange something, and get you help with Bas." Grans saying
"I want to go alone Gran. I'm not taking the baby."
I sit before I drop. Fuck.
