"Dad?"
I saw dad shedding tears as he held me and Dark's hand, then, the final answer to our question came.
"See here... You...are not just twins..."
"What do you mean 'not just twins'?"
"We're not siblings?!"
"No... You have another sibling. When the three of you were born, one of you aren't actually normal."
"I knew that everyday when I see (y/n)."
"Hey, we're in a serious conversation here so don't just go making jokes like that!"
" Your sibling... Uhhh... Was born a human. We planned to chance him into a demon but he was too young in the process. You see, me and your mom aren't actually born demons."
Dad grabbed another musical cylinder from one of his pockets. As the music played, I saw a couple, looking much like mom and dad, living happily, then "mom" suddenly disappeared. "Dad" was met by a man in a black robe, making a deal that will change his life for eternity. He rejected the deal, then later, he was acting wierd. He was pulling his hair and holding his shirt tightly, turning into the Dad that we knew. He made killing sprees at night, then woke up as a human with bloodied hands. "Mom" later came home, but she was pale, her eyes black, and tiny horns were peeking out of her blonde locks. Dad soon broke down, then later was met again by the same man in a cloak. He now accepted the deal, to protect his family and his friends, and he now served the demon realm. Everything was turned back into a night blue glowing orb as the music box closed again. He removed the cylinder from the music box and gave it to me, as I placed the cylinder I was holding back in it.
"So as I see it, you were a human who cared so much for your family and friends."
"You sacrificed yourself for them, we get it."
" Uhh, I... I was afraid to tell the truth before, but I fear that I might loose both of you...just like how I lost your mother... and your brother.."
"Wait, it's a guy?"
"Oh no not another Dark"
"This is the reason why you need to change into a human form. I will be sending both of you to the human realm to look for your brother, and bring him back here, so he can be changed into a demon easily and live with us in peace."
"What's the guy's name anyway?"
"..."
"Edward"
"How long do we have to...stay... In the human realm?"
"Until school's over... That way no one can blow our cover."
"A FREAKING WHOLE YEAR DAD?! I quit..."
"Do you want to rule this realm? Then do as I say, and like what me and your mom always said... Protect your sister at all costs."
" So we just have to be taught everything we know...cuz I ain't buying it.
" If you don't want to do this mission, then I'll guess I'll be out of your way. I'll just give the throne to your brother unless he too doesn't want to do the mission, then I'll die without an heir to the throne and sooner or later chaos will be there in between the humans and the demons..."
"Okay." Me and Dark both said in unison, rolling our eyes. Surely, both of us are confused, at the same time concerned. I held Dark's hand and nodded. Dad hugged the both of us before dismissing us.
Time skip to after dinner
My phone went off while I was walking to my room. Turns out, I got a text from Dark.
"Hey sis"
"Hey..."
"Listen, I need to talk to you about something later. Meet me at the heart of the maze"
"Time?"
"3:00 am"
" Bout what now?"
"Bout how we're gonna get out of this mess right now..."
"K... See ya"
I went to change in my PJs so that I can feel comfortable when going to the palace gardens. I still had some time to spare so I played with Chica for a little bit, then I set off to the palace gardens. I decided to walk through the maze so I could have a bit of exploring before reaching the heart of the maze. I just reached another dead end when my phone went off and got another text from Dark.
Where the fuck are you?
I'm already here douche.
Well hurry up unless you want us getting caught sneaking in the night again.
D'aww c'mon can't a girl have a little adventure?
No, this is urgent.
I'm walking there.
No you aren't.
I ignored the text after that and continued walking down the maze. I was looking at the night sky when I suddenly bumped into something. It was too soft for grass and too smooth to be a tree. I looked up and saw my brother. Great.
"You are a stubborn little stump aren't you?"
"Let me walk"
"Nope..."
As he said that, he grabbed my wrist and flew up high, dragging me along with him. I had to fly as well cuz my arm started to get strained, then later Dark teleported us to the heart of the maze.
"What now?"
"Do you agree on this mission dad gave us a while back?"
"Only if you do, douchey"
"No, I need both of us to agree on this. I can't stand you being depressed about this."
" I just thought another brother would cause more chaos in this realm, specially if he's human."
"Hey, I know that you and me are already happy with each other and no other person third wheeling us, but trust me I so wanted a brother... Please (y/n), do this for dad.
"Okay, as long as you promise that you and him aren't gonna team up on me."
"As long as you don't do the same on me Missy."
"So... What do you think's gonna happen when Ed gets back?"
"You're thinking of a nickname this early?"
"No, I just wanted to sleep, I'd rather call him names once we get close enough."
"Hey, promise you won't ever leave me out, okay?"
"With my life..."
After that, I surrounded myself in my usual red mist, landing right under my covers, then wanting to drift off to sleep, but I couldn't... I was stuck in my thoughts that kept me awake.
'what if I was left out after getting him?'
'he's not gonna be that bad right? I mean, he's a human'
'But dad's gonna turn him I to a demon. You wouldn't stand a chance'
'But, if I did bring him back, then I'll earn my rightful position on the throne'
'Imagine, years before coronation, you'll be seeing two of the same face waking you up in the morning, every holiday, every occasion, you'll see two brothers, later you'll be left behind'
'No, I won't. Dark made his promise...'
'You know how he keeps MOST of his promises right?'
'No, I'm making a promise to myself to accept my brother and be as close to him as close I am to Dark. Nothing will change between us, only new things coming in our way.'
'Yes, I'll be a bit confused in their names, but they're my brothers, and nothing will tear us apart'
I fell asleep after making an agreement with myself. I finally got a perfect beauty sleep. I wake up without Dark shaking me violently, but seeing Chica licking me to wake up is the best feeling yet. Kathryn brought me breakfast in bed, I got changed everyday... But the thought of my other brother always seemed to haunt me. Everything was turning out great.
