Tessa's P.O.V:
I stay curled up on Nicks couch and don't utter a word when I hear him walk in through the front door. He loosens the tie around his neck and places his jacket on the arm rest by my feet.
"How was your day?" I mumble. He turns to me in suprise.
"You're talking." He states.
"State the obvious." I mumble and let him sit down on the couch. I place my feet on his lap as he gets comfortable and leans back.
"I'm just suprised. It's been a couple of days since you last said a word." He says.
"A couple of days is a very long time." I shrug. "I want to go to the studio." I tell him.
"Why?" He asks.
"It's been almost a month, Nicklaus. I can't stay here forever. I want to put out my album and end this contract already." I say as I stare at the tv.
"And Marshall?" He raises his brow.
"What about him?" I ask after a long pause.
"...Are you over him?" He asks, making me laugh sadly.
"I don't think i'm ever going to get over him." I say as I stand up and walk away from him.
"Tessa." Nick says, stopping me going into his room. I turn around to face him as I fold my arms across my chest and wait for him to speak. "Are you alright?" He asks after a long pause.
"No." I smile sadly and shake my head. "And I don't think I ever will be." I add. "But that's alright....Right?" I ask but get no answer. "I'll act 'alright' infront of our mangers and i'll act 'alright' infront of the papparazi and fans and my family and friends....But I will never be alright. Not after everything that's happened." I sigh.
"Look..." Nicklaus sighs after a long time. "I have no idea what you're going through but-" He starts until I cut him off.
"Then let's not talk about this then." I shrug. "You can't relate." I add.
"Hear me out before you cut in." Nick sighs.
"I can manage this one my own. I'm sick of the pain and the embarrassment...and...The Heartbreak." I let out a long sigh. "I can manage this all on my own...I'm moving out. Tomorrow morning." I tell him.
"You know you can stay here as long as you like." Nick says.
"I know but I just want to be alone." I nod.
"Okay...I..We can go hunting for an apartment tomorrow. I can take the day off work-" He starts before I cut in.
"I'm moving into an hotel. I already asked Lilly, my assistant to look for an apartment. I should get it by the end of next week." I tell him.
"Oh...Well, okay." He clear his throat.
"Thank you for everything." I force a smile on my lips before I walk away.
***
"It's nice." Nick shrugs as he stands in the living room and look up at the chandler. "Very nice and fancy." He adds.
"Mhmm." I nod.
"Although....It's nothing compared to my place." He says making me roll my eyes as I walk past him. I hear him chuckle as he follows me. "Why are there two bedrooms?" He says as he walks into the spare bedroom.
"Iris." I say as I walk in. "The place is only fifteen minutes away from her school and-" I start but get cut off.
"You're still looking after Iris." Nick asks in suprise.
"Well if they let me...and if she still wants to see me then...yeah." I shrug. "I can't just dump her. I'm like her second mom or whatever...She looks up to me and I need to be there for her." I add. Nick smiles at me and lets out a little sigh. "What?" I say lowly.
"Nothing." He smiles softly as he folds his arms across his chest and leans against the door way.
"Do...I have something on my face?" I ask
"No." He laughs softly.
"Then what?" I ask.
"I'm....Just proud of you that all." He says, making me smile.
"Well thanks dad." I say sarcastically, making him laugh again as he looks down at his feet and back up at me. "Why?" I ask.
"Why what?" He raises his brow.
"Why are you proud of me?" I shrug.
"Well...You've got your life back on track." He shrugs. "You didn't need my help...You didn't need Karla's or Chris help. You didn't need your brothers help." He says before he pauses for a brief second. "And you didn't....You did this all without that asshole." He says, referring to Marshall. "You did this all on your own." He adds.
"I guess I did, didn't I." I nod.
"You did it." He smiles, making me smile back at him. "You got your own hotel room...You sorted out everything and thought of Iris whilst you were taking care of yourself. It's been a whole month since you Marshall split up with you and yet...You did it all." He says.
"I need to get back to reality." I sigh as I glance at the beautiful view outside. "Now that I know what Marshall said wasn't a lie...I can..." I trail off and let out a sigh.
"Move on?" Nick raises his brow.
"No. I don't think I will ever move on from that bastard." I laugh and take off my sunglasses from my head. "Let's go get some food. You're driving." I say as I cover my eyes with my sunglasses and walk out the room.
***
I bob my head to the music as I look at my new artist Keisha singing in the booth. I sit down next to my good friend Sam as he messes around with mixing board.
"Woah! You're on fire baby!" Sam shouts at Keisha, making her smile lightly as I laugh softly.
"I think we should give this song to someone else." I whisper to me.
"Keisha's pretty dope." He says in confusion as he leans back.
"I don't know...Her voice can get a little...Anyway, i've got someone way better." I tell him.
"Alright. Go for it." He shrugs. We wait for Keisha to finish before we send her out of the studio. "Show me what you got." He says as he rubs his hands together.
I stand up from my chair and take out the cd from my bag. I hand it to him before he goes though a few tracks. When he comes to track 14, I quickly stop him and tell him to play it.
"Dope beat." He nods.
"You should hear his voice." I say proudly as I fold my arms across my chest.
"His?" He says in confusion. I look down at my ringing phone.
"He's an angle sent from above, Sam." I say quickly before I answer my phone. "Hey." I smile as I sit down.
"Hi. Not interupting am I?" Nick says.
"No. I was just getting ready to leave the studio." I tell him as I grab my coat and bag.
"You up for indian food?" He asks.
"Mm...Yes!" I say as I hug Sam and wave goodbye to him. "Cool, i'm outside." He says.
"Okay. I'll be down in a second." I say as I walk out of the studio and towards the lift.
"Okay." Nick mumbles and I hang up.
***
"Damn papparazi." Nick mumbles as he drives out of the Indian restaurants car park. "Straight to your hotel?" He says as he speeds down the empty.
"We should go to a club." I suggest. Nick keeps one hand on the wheel and the other hand one wrapped around my hand as he drives.
"The club?" He raises his brow.
"Yeah. It'll be fun." I shrug as we lock hands. "Are you seeing anybody?" I quickly ask as I turn to face him.
"Why? Are you asking me out on a date...Again?" He laughs softly.
"What do you mean again?" I ask as I play with the ring on his finger. Nick uses both of his hands to steer the wheel before he places it back down on my leg.
"Well. You asked me out on our first date." He says as I lock hands with him. I kick my feet up on the dash board, making him tut as he pushes my feet back down.
"Correction. You asked me out." I state.
"Correction." He mimics in a girly voice, making me roll my eyes as I shake my head and laugh. "I asked you out and you said no....Then you came running back to me and asked me out." He states.
"Only because I felt bad." I say, making him laugh as he rubs his thumb over the back of my hand.
"No...It was because you knew that you couldn't find anyone good looking and charming as me." He says.
"Get over yourself." I roll my eyes.
"So you admit it...I am good looking and charming." He smirks as he glances at me and then back at the road.
"I didn't admit to anything." I point out.
"And you didn't deny anything either." He says, making me shake my head as I laugh softly.
"So. Do you have a girlfriend?" I ask again. Nick goes quiet for a few seconds and looks out of his window as he drives. "You have a girlfriend?" My mouth drops open.
"No." He shakes his head. He opens his mouth to speak but doesn't get a chance since I quickly speak.
"Let's go to the club." I say.
"Why?" He moans.
"We are finding you a girlfriend." I shrug.
"Tessa-" He starts but I cut in.
"Take me to my hotel first. I need to change." I say quickly.
"Yes mam." He sighs.
***
"She was pretty." I say as I stumble into my hotel room.
"Her boobs were practically bouncing in my face." Nick slurs.
Yep, you guessed it. We're both drunk!
"I need a drink." I say as I kick off my heels on the floor and dump my jacket on the couch.
"Oh, i'll have one too." Nick says as he drops down on the couch. I fill up two glasses of champagne right to the top before I make my way towards Nick, almost falling on the way.
"Here you go." I smile and hand him the glass.
"The redhead was cute." I point out.
"Too clingy." He shake his head.
"The brunette?" I raise my brow as we both turn to face eachother. I pull my legs up on the couch as Nick drapes his arm on the back of the couch.
"Mmm...Too loud." He says.
"Well what about the blond one?" I ask.
"Too sluty." He says. "I don't know how women can just rub up against men they don't even know like the way she did." He adds, making me smile lightly.
"What about the other one then...What's her name...Stella?" I ask.
"I don't think she's a she..." He says, making me laugh. "Too manly." He adds. "Hey sexy, my name is Stella." He mimics Stella in a deep voice.
Both of us burst out laughing uncontrollably. After a few seconds, we just stop and stare at eachother. I find my self leaning in closely towards him the same time the same time he starts to lean towards me.
My eyes stay glued to his lips just like his stayed glued to mine. When we're just inches away, we stop for and stay frozen for a couple of seconds and then...
Bam!
I move back the same time he snaps out of this trance. I clear my throat and place my glass down on the table. Nick looks away awkwardly as he rubs the back of his neck.
This is wrong...
"We should....Get to bed." I say awkwardly.
"Yeah. It's late." Nick nods and stands up.
"I'll sleep here." Nick adds.
"No. You'll be uncomfortable." I say. "You can sleep with me." I shrug. It not like it's our first time sleeping in the same bed.
"Are you sure?" He asks.
"Positive." I nod. Nick doesn't say anything and stands up from the couch.
Nick follows behind silently as I walk towards my bedroom. I push open the door and turn on the light. Nick sits down on the edge of the bed and takes his shoes off as I walk towards my dressing table and take off my jewelry.
"Could you..." I trail off as I try to take off my necklace.
"Yeah." He clears his throat. I turn around and walk towards him. I kneal down infront of him with my back turn towards him. I let out a sigh as he takes of my necklace.
"Thank you." I say quietly as I turn to face him. I look up at Nick as he looks down at me. He slowly leans in again, making me lean up towards him.
Without a second thought, we smash our lips together. Nick places his palm against my cheek as I place mine on his shoulder and slowly rise up. I let him pull me onto his lap before he wraps his arm around me.
"This is wrong." I whisper against his lips.
"I know." He whispers back and claims my lips again. "I know." He whispers again before he bites down on my bottom lip, making me let out a moan which gives him access to deepen the kiss.
