| mara's point of view

"I was only gone from a business trip for a week and you three managed to mess up the house like this." All I could do was let out a sigh when I found my husband sleeping on Taehyung's bed still in the clothes he went to work in. Our two little cubs are napping on either sides of him and it made my heart melt in an instant. I missed them. I could never be away from them for a long time.

I wanted to get mad but I couldn't. My motherly instincts just won't let me, instead, I walked up to them from the doorway, picking up the neglected blanket that fell to the floor and placed the blanket over the three of them. Taehyung had a bump on his head which he got five hours before I arrived. Jimin had covered it with an adhesive pad after I instructed him to treat the swelling with an ice pack. I kissed Taehyung's forehead softly and smiled when he squirmed and shifted closer to Jimin's side.

Mary had thrown one of her leg over Jimin while Jimin's arm supported her head. I gently ruffled her fringes and kissed her forehead too, "Goodnight. Sweet dreams, my little cubs."

(Taehyung grew up to be Vernon lol just go along with me)

"Hey." Jimin softly spoke in the dimness of our bedroom the next morning, finding me alone in our bed. "Sorry, we fell asleep while waiting up for you. I was just so exhausted looking after the kids."

I chuckled as he moved onto the bed with me, "Are they still asleep?"

Jimin nodded and then smiled, "Those kids are heavy sleepers. They didn't even move when I left. Maybe they got it from you?"

"Dream on." I escaped from his hold and sat up, tying my hair back, "You're the one who snores."

"Fine. I acknowledge that but Mary takes after your habit of throwing her limbs everywhere." Jimin retorted, smirking knowing that he won this round.

"Can't deny that." I replied with a smile. I got out of bed, getting a sufficient amount of sleep, "It's time to start the day again."

I was glad to be back home after that tiring trip. Now I know why Jimin hated business trips. It was the first time for me. I couldn't eat while I was there, couldn't sleep properly. I constantly worried about them which would explain the number of calls they got from me for the past week. I always keep my phone near in case there was an emergency like what happened to Taehyung's forehead.

The air was chilly so I pulled my robe over my night gown, closing it entirely. I turned on the knob carefully and slowly, pushed it open. I watched them still sleeping side by side. The blanket that Jimin put over them was already on the floor. I picked it up again and was placing the blanket over their shoulders when both of his hands came to rest on my waist.

I moved back towards his embrace and we stood there in silence, "They're growing up so fast."

"Yeah." Jimin spoke, pressing his lips on my cheek. I caved into him and rested my hands on his arms around my waist. "Everything is all in the past now.. This is our home now. I'm very much happy to have found it with you."

The front door opened and a tall man entered. A warm smile was caught along my lips when I saw him. There were no exchanges of words between us, just a smile was enough for me and him. It's all in the past now and we understand each other, the reasons behind our actions in the past.

"Uncle Jungkook is here!" Mary jumped off from her seat to welcome him. She scurried off to the hallway, leaving her unfinished drawing on the table.

"You're so tall now." Jungkook knelt down to her level to pinch her plump cheeks, "And so pretty. You definitely take after your mother."

Mary showed him a toothy grin, a slight pink blush coloring her cheeks, "Are you going to stay here for a long time?"

"Hm, maybe? If you let me stay at your house." Jungkook joked around with the kid and she nodded her head, "Can I stay here forever, then?"

Mary nodded again, "You can sleep in my brother's room."

"That's so nice of you." Jungkook smiled, smitten by the girl, "Where's your brother?"

"He's upstairs in his room." She piped.

"And your Dad?" Jungkook asked, holding her small body close as she sat on his lap.

"He's on the way home." The girl sweetly answered.

"Mary, be a good girl and offer uncle Jungkook something to drink." I said from the kitchen.

Mary held Jungkook's fingers, dragging him to the refrigerator, "I recommend that you drink milk. It's my favorite."

"Okay then, milk it is." He sent Mary a grin and she did her best to pour him a drink, focusing so hard not to spill the milk and make a mess. "Drink everything. It tastes better if you do it all at once."

I watched at the hilarious scene of Jungkook drinking a tall glass of milk and getting himself a white mustache. Mary giggled at Jungkook's face, using his fingers to wipe away his mustache. From the second floor, Taehyung has popped his head over the banister, "Is uncle Jungkook here?"

He jumped to his feet when he saw the man and ran down the stairs. My motherly instincts took over and I was shouting again, "What did I say about running?"

"Listen to your mother. You could fall down and hurt yourself.." Jungkook scolded Taehyung but sent him a grin when I turned my back to them, "Girls dig bad boys."

Taehyung high fived him and they all went to the living room, leaving me in the kitchen to cook their lunch. The promised help was supposed to be here ten minutes ago, where are they anyway?

-

"Where are we?" Isabel asked Hoseok who has driven past the same street three times. She fanned her face, extremely flushed, her Spanish accent becoming apparent when she's upset, "Ay, Dios Mío. We've been driving around in circles for the last ten minutes."

Turn right to Hall street then turn left in 40 meters

"I'm just following instructions, baby." Hoseok turned right and they were back again, past the neighborhood park. "Maybe you should call Mara."

"Oh wait. I think I see Jimin." Hoseok squinted his eyes to the man getting out of his car. "Yeah that is him, short and stout."

He made a U-turn, pulling over to the curb and called after his brother-in-law, "Chimchim!"

Jimin turned around to see Hoseok grinning, "What the fuck is a chimchim?"

"Dude, you told me your english name is chimchim." Hoseok replied, opening his arms and pulling chimchim in.

"My english name is Christian, not chimchim." He bitterly announced after he was shoved into Hoseok's chest.

"Hello, Jimin." Isabel greeted him, "I apologize on his behalf."

"Hi, Isabel." Jimin gave him a smile despite Hoseok squeezing him to death, "It's okay. I've known him for almost two decades."

"You're still squishy man. Some things just never change, huh." Hoseok finally released Jimin, patting him on the back.  "Now where are my niece and nephew?"

Hoseok and Isabel came inside to be welcomed by everyone and his two excited balls of sunshine. The two rushed to the door as soon as it opened and latched themselves on their uncle. Taehyung around Hoseok's waist and Mary around his leg.

"My grizzly bears, I've missed you!" Hoseok crouched down to hug them both, making my heart melt.

"Hi aunt Isabel." They chorused when they saw her come after Hoseok, "How have you two been? Have you been good? Sorry we couldn't visit much." She added as she put her hand on her pregnant belly, "We got busy with this little sunshine."

Mary laid her palm over her baby bump, "Is it a boy or a girl?"

"A girl just like you." Hoseok answered happily.

"We can't wait to meet her." Taehyung held Mary's hand in his, "I'm going to protect them both."

Hoseok's expression softened and he gently ruffled Taehyung's hair, "You promise?"

Taehyung nodded, "Promise."

Hoseok smiled at the sincerity in the boy's eyes, "You're a good kid, Tae."

"Hold on, I'm confused, who are you talking about?" Jin raised his hand up to interrupt Mara. "Taehyung, your son or Taehyung?"

"My son, obviously." Jimin answered, laughing, "Weren't you listening? Why would the grown up Taehyung attend middle school? It wouldn't make sense."

Yoongi sighed, leaning back into his seat, "This is why you shouldn't name your child after one of your friends."

"It is weird." Namjoon added, refilling Yoongi's glass with the expensive wine Yoongi brought with him. "Yoongi this is one of the best wines I've ever tasted."

"I got it from our wine collection at home. Preserved for a decade." Yoongi casually waved his hand in the air and I smiled because he's such a show off.

"Weird but I like it." Taehyung grinned, "I'm going to teach him all the wise things he needs to know. Don't worry Jimin and Mara, he's going to grow up into a wise man like me."

"Oh no." I rubbed my hands over my face and Jimin chuckled beside me with an arm around my waist. He buried his face in the crook of my neck and affectionately pressed his lips on the spot just below my ear.

"Enough with the drunk chitchat." Hoseok redirected the conversation to the other side of the room where Jungkook was sitting quietly, just listening to our stories, "We should hear from the other man who disappeared for quite some time and only showed up now. Jungkook?"

"Well.. how do I start?" Jungkook shyly smiled as he rubbed his nape, "I joined the Special Forces."

"Skip that, tell us the real story." Namjoon sent him a grin, making half of the group on the edge of their seats.

"Fine, if you all insist.." Jungkook smiled. The kind of smile that I knew was special. He looked around us and held my gaze for a second before he spoke again, "I was sent to a highly classified operation and there I met a girl in the battlefield of South Sudan."

"We pointed our guns at each other's head because we both have something we are fighting for." The corner of his lips slowly curved up into a beautiful smile, that was worth everything he has been through. Jungkook's eyes had a glint of hope as he continued to tell us the story, "She was my enemy, but now, the love of my life."
