Enjoy this hopefully cute oneshot
Phil groaned as the baby monitor projected little Hailey's cries. She always seemed to cry. She wasn't a happy baby like he was told she would be. He got up, making sure to not wake up Dan by turning off the monitor. Phil was up, tired still but up. He walked over to Hailey's room and walked in. She was crying with her eyes squinted shut.
Phil picked her up and gently laid her in my arms. She still cried but it wasn't as loud. He rocked her from side to side to try and calm her, which was useless except for causing her to throw up on his shirt. She had the weakest stomach as well. Phil sighed and walked with her into the kitchen. He prepared her bottle and started brewing a cup of coffe. He made a deal with Dan, that every other day he would take care of her when she woke up at the crack of dawn.
Hailey's bottle was ready and Phil put in her mouth which seemed to calm her.
"There there love, papa is here. I'm not going anywhere." Phil softly whispered while she ate in his arms. Even though she never slept, she was so cute. She would just be cranky at times. Phil didn't mind, and neither did Dan.
Phil's coffee was finished and he poured himself a mug carefully, holding Hailey with extreme caution. He then sat on the couch and sipped his coffee. Hailey finished her bottle after a bit and began to cry again. Phil rolled his eyes with a smile, she was persistent. He set down his coffe and carefully held her closer. Soon enough she began to fall back asleep. Phil smiled and finished his coffee, feeling way more awake. He looked at the time, it was 7:00 a.m, yet he didn't mind.
Dan woke up at about nine. He saw Phil sitting with Hailey in his arms, scrolling through tumbler.
"Hey love, how did you sleep," Dan asked. He always assumed Phil had the magic touch. While for him, Hailey never cried to much, she was always asleep with Phil on his mornings. She never slept again with Dan but he usually got her to lie quietly and he never slept when it was his mornings. Phil looked at him, suprised by his ominous question.
"Eh I didn't get much, she cried for a while," Phil said as he put aside his laptop. Dan looked at him in shock.
"I never sleep but I thought you did. Want me to help out then? We can change the schedule if it bothers you," Dan said in concern. He shook his head and Dan looked puzzled.
"No worries, she is worth losing sleep over. Just like you. " He smiled as he spoke. Dan smiled back and felt better that Phil didn't mind staying up. Then again, he never got sleep either, and Phil was right. It was all worth it.
