Maya POV
I'm exhausted but having Levi here is well worth it. He was up every couple of hours for a feeding but Lucas being the amazing Daddy he is would hand Levi to me each time that he needed to be fed. Some of those times I'd just cuddle him and let him sleep with me. Lucy was going to be here soon to meet her little brother. I was so excited to see her. When Lucas and I talked to her this morning she was so excited about coming to see us. Lucas's mom is usually up fairly early so she texted him at around 6:30 to see if she could stop by to meet Levi. It just so happened that it was a good time since he was up for a feeding. Plus the fact that the farm isn't too far from the hospital. It worked out really well for us because this would give Lucas and I alone time with the two kids so that Lucy could spend time with her brother. I had just got done feeding Levi when Lucas and Lucy arrived. Lucas grabbed Lucy's hand and walked over to the bed.
"Hi Mommy." she said as Lucas helped her to sit on the bed.
"Hi baby girl. You want to meet your brother?" I said with a smile.
"Remember what Daddy told you about being careful." Lucas said as he sat down in the chair that was next to the bed.
Lucy nodded and then scooted closer to me and leaned onto me placing her head gently on my chest. "He's so cute, Mommy." she said as she gently rubbed her finger along his little hand.
"He is cute isn't he?" I asked her.
Lucy lifted her head up off my chest and looked at me with a smile "Can I hold him Mommy?" she asked.
I looked at at Lucas and smiled "What do you think?" I asked him to see what he thought.
"I think she is old enough." he said to me then looked at Lucy. "Be gentle with him munchkin okay?"
Lucy nodded "I will Daddy." she replied with a smile.
Lucas stood up from the chair and helped me get Lucy situated beside me. He took Levi out of my arms and gently handed him to Lucy before giving him a small kiss on the forehead. Lucy took her brother into her arms. I watched as she sat there admiring him.
"What do you think of him, Munchkin?" Lucas asked with a smile as he sat beside us on the edge of the bed.
"He's so cute and little." Lucy said with a smile.
"You're going to be a great big sister baby." I said to her as I looked over at her.
"Can he sleep with me when he comes home?" Lucy asked and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"I know you love him but he is a little bit too little for that just yet. But Mommy and Daddy will need your help a lot." I replied.
"Where will he sleep then?" she curiously asked.
"He's going to sleep in mine and Mommy's room until he gets a little bigger." Lucas answered.
"Can I sleep with you too?" she asked.
"No, you sleep in your own bed." I answered.
"But that's not fair." she mumbled. "Why can he sleep with you but I can't?"
"He has to be close to Mommy for the first few months so that I can feed him when he needs to be fed. He's just a baby. Mommy and Daddy will let you have sleep overs once in awhile okay?" I said to her hoping that this didn't turn into a problem.
"Yeah Munchkin I know this is hard for you since you aren't used to it but we'll make sure you get to have sleep overs too." Lucas said with a smile.
Lucy looked up at me with sad eyes "I don't want to have a baby brother anymore." she said to me. "Here you can take him back Mommy."
"Lucy Rae, that's not nice." Lucas said to her in a stern tone.
"Lucas don't get upset with her. It's to be expected. She's been the baby so long." I said as I took the baby from her. I looked at her and she locked eyes with me. "Lucy, your brother loves you. He fell asleep on you. He's going to need you teach him new things."
"But can't we send him back." she asked me.
"Come here Munckin." Lucas said as he stood up. I watched as he picked Lucy up off the bed then sat down in the chair with her. "Levi is coming with Mommy and Daddy. I know this is really big change for you because you are used to be our only baby but you will forever be our baby girl. Nothing will ever change that. "
"But he gets to have sleep overs with you and you're going to forget about me." she said to him.
"Lucy, we would never forget about you. Daddy and I are going to need your help big time. You'll be his special babysitter when we need help, you can help us pick out his clothes, help Mommy bathe him, and we can snuggle with him in Mommy's bed while we watch movies." I said to her trying to get her excited about being a big sister.
"But I liked when it was just us." she replied.
"I know you did honey but the three of us are still going to be able to do things like before. Levi is a little baby he's going to sleep a lot. I promise nothing is going to change with me, you and Daddy." I replied.
Lucy turned to Lucas and looked up at him "Will I always be your munchkin, Daddy?" she asked him.
"Of course Munchkin. That title is yours and yours only." he said to her with a smile. I couldn't help but smile at this cute interaction between them.
"When do you and Mommy come home?" she asked him.
"I think we get to come home tomorrow or the next day." I replied.
"I miss you." she said to me.
"We miss you too." I replied.
As Lucas and I sat there talking with Lucy, Levi woke up wanting another feeding. As I was feeding him there was a knock at the door. Lucas told them to come in and it was my mom stopping by again.
"Nana!" Lucy said excitedly. "What are you doing here?"
Lucy took off towards my mom and I couldn't help but be so happy to see how excited she was. Mom picked her up and Lucy held onto her tightly.
"I came to see you guys. How do you like your brother?" Mom asked as she walked over and sat down in the other chair that was in the room.
"He's okay." she said to my mom who looked over at me.
"She's still getting used to it." Lucas said with a chuckle.
"How about you stay with Nana tonight at my hotel? We can go swimming and do all kinds of fun things." Mom said to Lucy who lit right up.
"Can I Mommy?" she said as she quickly turned to face me.
"I don't care. You're okay with aren't you Lucas?" I asked him and he looked at me like I was nuts for even asking him.
"Yeah of course. "he chuckled.
After I got done feeding the baby Mom took him from me and held him. Lucy seemed to be warming up the idea of having a little brother. Mom did a good job talking to her and she seem to start understanding. She even asked to hold him again so we allowed her to do so because we wanted her to get used to it. Lucy was telling Mom about future sleepovers. As they were engrossed with conversation Lucas stood and leaned into me kissing me softly.
"I can tell you are worried about Lucy. Don't be. Everything is going to be just fine." he said then kissed me again.
We pulled away and I looked at him "Everything will always be okay since I have you by my side." I said as I smiled up at him.
"Love you." he said "For real don't worry. She's already warming up to it." he said then looked over towards my mom and the kids.
I looked over and saw Mom was now holding him and Lucy was in her lap. I looked back at Lucas "Yeah I guess you are right and I love you too. " I said to him before pulling him by his shirt and kissing him passionately on the lips.
He pulled a way and grinned. "I know I'm right."
"I'm excited for our future Lucas. I couldn't be happier." I said to him and I think today it finally hit me that I was over all of my denial.
I loved Lucas and I loved our little family. I looked over at Mom and smiled. She and Lucy were admiring Levi who was sleeping peacefully. Lucas and I had the perfect little family. Our future was bright and I can't wait to see what it brings for us.
