Dancing Lessons
{Grant x Reader}
requested

Pulling at the door handle, you were surprised to find Grant's door was locked. He knew you were coming over today, and usually he just left the door unlocked since you lost your key all the time. You sighed, and turned to digging in your purse for Grant's spare key. You didn't understand why the heck he would trust you with a key, but maybe he just felt obligated to after being best friends for years.

You found the key, sliding it into the lock and letting yourself in. You were immediately greeted by fluffs of happiness - Jett and Nora.

"Hey, guys," you cooed, leaning down to pet them. "Where's your father?" You looked up, noticing all of the lights off in the house. Sighing, you stood up and grabbed your phone out of your purse, checking the time. You frowned. Grant wouldn't be home for about another hour. You forgot he spent all of his days filming now, always spending time on set.

You searched his contact, quickly typing out a message.

Y/N: hey, so when you come home today don't worry about a serial killer being in your house, it's just me ;)

You dropped your stuff and took off your shoes. You walked through Grant's house, feeling a little lonely in the darkness of your best friend's home. You moved swiftly, making your way to his room, where your favorite thing in the house was: his surround system and radio.

You walked into his bedroom, rolling your eyes at his unmade bed and clothes scattered on the floor. Turning on the stereo, you proceeded to make Grant's bed.

The music played on, and you finished the bed. You danced around the room, throwing his dirty clothes into the hamper. Your favorite song started blaring through the quality speakers, calling all bets off. You danced around his room, knowing you looked like a fool, but not caring. Your dancing was not art, it was just enjoyment, the best kind of dancing. Nobody could see you now. It was just you and the music.

While spinning around, his dresser caught your eye. You stopped in front of it, still swaying your hips to the song. You reached out, gently picking up a picture frame of his. It was a photo of you and him, from a few years ago. You remembered the day, smiling to yourself. It was from the day he announced to you that he'd gotten the role of Barry Allen on The Flash. The picture showed you too, happiness not even coming close to what you two were expressing in it. You were hugging him tightly, making an excited face, while he was staring at you, a large smile covering his face. You hadn't seen this picture in ages, and it filled you with a nostalgic joy.

Placing it down, you looked at the picture next to it. This one was from just a few months ago. It wasn't special or anything, just a selfie he'd taken of you two while cuddled up in hoodies on his couch. You smiled at how adorable he looked. You sighed in content, and moved back to spinning around to your favorite song.

Mid spin, you stopped short, a figure in the doorway catching your eye. A yelp escaped your mouth as you threw your hands in the air, stumbling away from Grant's dresser of pictures.

"Grant!" You huffed, clutching a hand over your heart. "You scared me!" Your face began to turn a bright red, realizing he probably saw most of your awful, embarrassing dance moves around his bedroom.

"Uh, your dance moves were pretty scary, too," he teased, leaning against the doorframe.

Sighing deeply, you shook your head at him. "What are you even doing here? Shouldn't you be filming?" You questioned, rushing over to the stereo.

"We ended early today," Grant explained. You nodded, reaching out to the stereo to turn it off just as the music changed to a soft love song. "Wait! I like this song."

You laughed, stepping away from the radio. "Sorry for creeping in your room," you sighed, sitting on the edge of his bed.

"Er, more like thank you for cleaning it," he joked, "Now, come on. I owe you for that." He glided over to you, reaching a hand out.

"Grant, I'm not dancing with-" before you could finish, he pulled you off of the bed, bringing you close to him. His hands traveled slowly down your body, bringing you two into a dancing position. Your breathing hitched, surprised by Grant's sudden closeness.

He chuckled, leading you across his bedroom floor slowly. "How is it I've been your best friend for years and I still haven't taught you how to dance?" The love song floated throughout the room, and you let yourself be pulled along by Grant. Your eyes stayed glued to the floor, trying not to fall over each other's feet.

"Oh, come on, look at me at least," Grant begged quietly. You turned your eyes up, meeting his. You almost stumbled in his arms as you realized the proximity of you two, dancing throughout the room to some cheesy, pop love song.

"I didn't know dancing to love songs was a best friend thing to do," you said, biting your lip. Grant's mouth was pulled into a killer smile as he stared down at you.

"I... uh... I guess it is for us," he muttered.

You couldn't help but grin back at him. "Yeah, I guess it is."

"Hey, thanks for cleaning up the place, by the way," he laughed, guiding you across the room.

"It's what I do," you shrugged.

"You do know you're the best, right?" Grant asked, leaning down so his face was closer to yours.

You giggled helplessly, feeling your face heat up.

"And you look so beautiful today," Grant smiled. He pulled away, twirling you around. He brought you back to him, bringing you close. "I mean, uh, well, you always look beautiful, though."

"Uh, thanks," you laughed, leaning your head on his chest. "This is sort of romantic."

"Sort of?" Grant asked, his voice quiet.

"Maybe a bit." You teased.

He stopped dancing, to which you pulled away to look up at him. His hands stayed wrapped around you though, his thumb rubbing small circles on your skin.

"I... I just.... this is romantic, huh?" He asked, turning his eyes to the ground. "Sorry."

You closed your eyes, letting him move you around somewhat gracefully. "It's fine, Grant. It's... nice." You smiled, opening your eyes to see him already staring at you.

"Yeah," he agreed in a whisper. "Nice."

You gulped, looking into Grant's eyes, to his lips, and back to his eyes.

"I...." he trailed off softly. You nodded, urging him to go on.

"I can't say it," Grant whispered. Unexpectedly, he leaned down a little more, pressing his lips to yours. You felt a rush of excitement and shock, but quickly kissed back.

Finally, he pulled away, his expression unreadable. "I-I'm so sorry," he stammered. He broke his hold on you, stepping away.

"It's fine," you promised. You reached out, taking one of his hands. You knew you must have been beaming like a fool.

"I want to try to be something more," Grant whispered. "And I didn't know how to tell you."

"I want that, too," you nodded, "Also, by the way, those pictures you have of us are adorable."

Grant chuckled, his eyes lighting up. "I'm glad." He stepped back to you, tilting your head up to reach his lips again.
