emily and jacob had been texting for a week now. jacob just randomly asked for her number at the grocery store while they were waiting in line. emily didn't think anything of it as jacob had hoped. the boy was especially socially awkward and he thought it was a horrible characteristic.
emily was actually looking forward to saturday, to meeting jacob. he was the closest to a friend for emily. do i have to worry about what clothes i wear? probably not because he'll only see my jacket and jeans. yeah, whatever.
this made emily remember her primary school experience. she was shy, quiet. only had one friend. and it was a girl in her class who was loved by everybody. but emily's parents decided that she didn't need to grow up among her peers because she was smarter than them.
that was the cut from society emily got. now, for about six years she had been alone, with no friends and only her family surrounding her. it sounds like a sad story, it kinda was. her parents were so expectant and strict to her, they had arguments almost every day.
jacob put his phone down just as the bell rang. he sighed and got up from his table, hanging his bag over his shoulder. another boring math class he didn't need. His math grades were the best in class as well as in some other subjects.
jacob was good at everything except PE. he was the least athletic person in his class. jacob didn't really see the point in doing physical excercises in front of other people or for a grade. talking about doing them in front of his classmates - he was always tripping and falling and such, so he hated PE class.
the boy had a small smile on his face through the rest of his classes. he was going to see emily again again, and talk to her properly. he didn't know why it made him happy, but that was nothing but good.
oh shit, what do i wear?
