(Kathreen's POV)
After a week of stay in the Zurvivors Community, we became popular. that now we're having actual rivals. Usually, people would have girl on girl rivals of guy on guys rival, but now we're having Girl on Guy's Rivals.
You might be asking who's our rivals?
Yes, it's the Grant brothers.
Ever since we joined clubs, etc. Our popularity became higher than the Grant brothers. Now, they haven't even talked to us anymore. Their attitude towards us changed. They've became.. mean and arrogant.
We were sitting outside the bench, soft wind was blowing making our hair fly softly.
"What time is it?" asked Risse as she continued playing her phone.
"It's 8:45. and training starts at 9. I think we should go." I said, as I stood up and grabbed my backpack.
Clarisse agreed and we made our way to the ZTG. (Zurvivors Training Gym) When we arrived, there was only Erin, Ashley, and as much as I hated to say it... The Grant brothers.
Jason was wearing a blue shirt that had 'Zurvivors' written across it, with his jersey jacket and paired it with his black pants. While Jace was wearing his black hoodie, and black pants. The brothers were talking and laughing, but when they saw us both, their faces fell into a frown.
"Hey girlies!!" Ashley and Erin squealed, making their way towards us.
"Hey, Ash and Rie." I greeted and hugged both of them.
"Heyy girlieees!" Risse squealed, making me jump a little because she was only by my side, and her squeal startled me so badly.
"Okay, so you girls ready for your 2nd training??" Erin asked with a bright smile on her face.
"Yes we are!!" Risse jumped up and down.
"Yes! We are. In fact, I'm getting pretty much excited and nervous at the same time. I mean, even though it's our 2nd time, you will still have that nervous feeling in you." I nervously chuckled and stole a glance to Jason, who was staring at me with those blackish-grey eyes.
Both of us was staring at each other for a second or three, but I was the first one to break it.
I was feeling quite uneasy knowing that he actually kept on staring at me the whole time I was talking to the girls. but, I don't like him or have a crush on him either. I'd rather focus on my schooling, training and all - not all those lovey dovey stuffs. Better focus on more important things.
After about 10 minutes, students started to fill the room and the trainer arrived with them.
"Alright everybody, please settle down. Today, we will be organizing the groups." The trainer, as far as I know, he was named as Sir Andy.
Everybody started giving confused looks on their faces.
"Usually, all of us would train in one group, but today, we have decided that we will be separating it to three groups. This paper on my hands, is the names of the students on group one, two, and three." Sir Andy said as he showed us the paper he was holding.
After 20 minutes of calling out the names, we were patiently waiting for our names to be called next. and that was me, Risse, Erin, Ashley, Jason, Jace, and other students I didn't know.
"Next in group one is, Jason Grant.." Sir Andy said, as he turned the next page.
I hope I'll be with Clarisse, Erin and Ashley.
"Nica Green.."
"and lastly, Kathreen Collins."
"What?!" I whisper shouted, and looked at Risse who had the same look on her face.
Knowing that I will get separated with my bestfriend is just.. boring, and I don't know much of the people here. and the fact that JASON GRANT is in the same group as I am! Looks like I just have to stick with Ashley.
Jason looked at me, obviously surprised that I was in the same group as he was. To be honest, I kind of hate him not just him though.. but also Jace, because their attitude changed towards me and Risse and all. They also became arrogant and mean. Yes, we became more popular than them, but that doesn't mean he has to be that way.
I stood up and sighed, going to my group. I looked at Risse and pouted, waving at her and Erin.
"Next, in group two is, Jace Grant.."
"Alexa Green.."
"and, Clarisse Lightwood."
So that leaves Erin and Ashley on group three.
The look on Clarisse was priceless when her name was called, and especially that Jace is on the same group as her. Was this like planned or something? I swear this is so weird.
"Alright everyone, since Kathreen Collins and Jason Grant are the eldest in group one, Clarisse Lightwood and Jace Grant in group two, and Erin and Ashley in group three, you will be the leaders for your group. and.. I expect you to do teamwork." The last words of Sir Andy made me cringe.
Hm, teamwork with Jason Grant. doesn't sound good to me. I mean, why would I do teamwork with a guy who would suddenly change his attitude on someone who got more popular than them?
"First, we will be testing which weapon you will be using. and that's for the new students." Sir Andy said with a smile.
New students. That's us. Uh..
Everybody faced me, and Clarisse, including Jace and Jason; Jason looked at me, that look I couldn't explain, and after that he and Jace rolled their eyes. Jerks.
"Please go to that platform, and choose a weapon. Two weapons actually, because you both are one of the leaders." Sir A pointed to the big platform with a lot of different weapons to choose from.. and this one weapon caught my eyes.. crossbow.
I walked over and took the cross bow, I then realized it wasn't that heavy, and it wasn't just any other ordinary cross bow.. There was this button, when you press it, a blade will come out in the front, in case you didn't have time to reload. and there was many other arrows; There was an explosive one, poisonous, very sharp and all that you could ask for. and I took two hand guns that had unlimited amos.
Clarisse took daggers, her favorite weapon and two hand guns as well. and the daggers were very sharp and dangerous.
"Move aside people. Kathreen, you will be going first." I nodded nervously, and positioned the cross bow in my hand.
Unexpectedly, a glasswall rose from the ground, I gasped and looked around. I didn't have a clue what was happening right now.
"Calm down, Kathreen. This is the place where students train, and what we call it, 'Training Area'. So don't panic." Sir Andy said that through the microphone, I couldn't help but feel very relieved.
When I was 11, I took karate class and I was a black belter. No one dared on picking a fight with me.. Why? because they would face the consequences.
"In 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.." Everyone started counting down.
"...1."
There was a door inside the Training area, it was opening slowly, and I could hear growlings and bangings. As it opened widely, I was so shocked to see maybe 5 - 6 hungry, bloody Zombies.
"What the?" I whispered to myself with my mouth slighly opening. I turned my gaze to Clarisse along with the girls, who had very worried looks on their faces.
Bring it on, Zombies.
As soon as they saw me, they growled louder and charged towards me.
I aimed my cross bow, and pressed the trigger. The bow went straight to the biter's brain, and its body crashed against the floor.
One down, 5 to go.
There was another one who ran to me, and I didn't have the time to reload because the bow I was about to load, fell down, and the thing ran too fast.
I aimed my cross bow and pressed the button of the blade, and I slashed its neck and plunged it deep down his brain.
This time, 2 ran towards me as they growled very loud - Gladly, I loaded my cross bow in time with 2 arrows, and those two was explosive ones.
I ran, and flip jumped, landing on my two feet, and shot the two biters in the brain, their heads exploded and their bloody flesh splattered. Bulls eye.
Two to go.
I smirked, looking at the two zombies left inside. It was both male biters, as they saw me, they started walking at me then ran. I just stared at them, not even loading my cross bow.
I could feel everybody was shocked, surprised, and scared!
"Kat! What in the world do you think you're doing?! Kill it!" People started shouting at me, but I just shrugged.
As it was coming really close to me, I grabbed both my hand guns and shot them in the brain. Their bodies fell against the floor and blood came out of their heads. Never mess with me.
"Very impressive, Kathreen. You almost gave us a heart attack." Sir Ryan said through the microphone and chuckled.
I gave him a big smile and started walking out the Training area.
When I went out, I was surprised to see Jason and Jace with the girls. but they weren't really talking much.. Just Erin and Jace arguing.
"Heyyy. You were on fire in that Training area! You were so awesome!" Clarisse squealed and gave me a tight hug.
"Thanks CheeseRisse." I thanked her and hugged her back. Erin and Ashley congratulated me as well and so did the boys, surprisingly.
"Clarisse, it's your turn." Sir Andy said.
Risse drew in a deep breath and went in the training area.
"Good luck, CheeseRisse!" I shouted to her and waved.
I was standing beside Jason, and I felt that he kept looking at me non stop.
Ugh, okay?
"You did great out there. Never knew a girl like you would be so tough like that." a deep voice said, that gave me goosebumps. I looked to see who it was and it was.. Jason.
Can you believe he's actually talking to me?
"Look who's talking to me," I said sarcastically. maybe that was a little bit too harsh?
"..but thanks." I added, forcing a smile.
Clarisse was really doing great out there. The way she threw the daggers and it went to the biters heads.
"Are you mad at me or something?" Jason asked in an amused tone, as he looked in my black eyes with his blackish-greyish ones.
"No, why would I be?" I shrugged, and looked away.
Finally, on cue. Clarisse came back..
"You were so good! Good job, Risse." I said to Risse.
"Thanks Kitkat." She replied with a happy smile.
"Can you believe it? Jason talked to me." I whispered in her ear.
Her eyes went big and whispered back saying, "Seriously?! What came into his, and their heads?
I shrugged and muttered an 'I don't care'.
"Okay everybody. That's all for today. Remember leaders, you will be in charge of everything that involves your group and you have to do teamwork, alright?" Sir Andy said and we all agreed.
We all packed up our stuffs and made our way to the exit. Then I realized I left my science book inside my locker. Ugh, great I have to get it. It's almost 12, and I'm already starving.
"Hey, guys. You go on ahead to the Cafe, I'll catch up. I left my science book inside my locker. Just order for me, Risse." I said hurriedly, and waited for their reply.
"Caramel coffee latte, not too much milk, with whipped cream and a lot of caramel syrup on top, and not too hot. also caesar salad, no onions and tomatoes. and lastly, cheese burger, also no tomatoes and fries on the side. The usual, right Kitkat?" Risse said, and panted for air.
"You know me too well, CheeseRisse!" I smiled and made my way to the empty hallways, leading to my locker.
"Ugh, why did I even forget to bring my book? annoying much." I said to myself and unlocked my locker.
I grabbed my science book and a few more stuffs I forgot to bring; As soon as I was done, I closed the locker and turned around... facing Jason - his right hand was on the locker, and he looked at me intently.
"You scared the living soul in me, Jason." I said and gasped for air - holding my chest as I felt my heart beat so fast.
"Move aside." I moved him out of the way and started walking. but he grabbed my arm, turning me around.
"Yes?" I said with no emotion at all.
"Sir Andy told me to give you a list of our group members." He said as he handed me a yellow paper with names of students that were on our group.
"Thanks." I simply said and walked away.
"Why are you being like that to me?" He asked, making me stop from my tracks.
"Because..." I slowly said, and turned around, trying to come up with a good excuse.
"Because you're a jerk." I muttered loud enough for only me could hear.
"Excuse me? What was that?" He asked and adjusted his jacket and fixed his hair.
"I mean! I don't know. Why were you and Jace ignoring us? Well, only you could answer your question." I shrugged and walked away like a boss going to the cafe.
Call me a meanie, or something. but I'm just like that to people who change their attitude towards us because of popularity. (and you know who those people are)
