Chapter Thirty-Two: The Goblet Of Fire
"Mr. Potter and Mr. Diggory, tied for first place!" everyone cheered. Hermione, Ron, and I stood in the front row of the stands.
"They will be the first to enter the maze. Whomever touches the cup first, will be the Tri-Wizard champion!" I smiled and held up a 'Harry Potter' sign George gave me. Harry and I recently made up, which I am kind of glad about.
"However, I must warn you. People change in this event. Beware competitors."
The canon went off in the middle of the speech and Moody pushed Harry in. The maze started to close and that's when my worry kicked in.
Harry might never make it out.
As soon as the entrances closed, the band faded and ended the song leaving nothing but the tune of our suspense.
"Do you think Harry will do okay?" I asked Hermione.
"You're talking about the Harry Potter." she laughed and I forced a smile.
It's been nearly 3 hours since Harry entered the maze and we haven't seen a single sign. A moment passed before we saw a red flash go into the air.
"Harry?" I stood up but Ron pulled me back down.
"He's fine, I promise." I took a deep breath and starting biting my nails. We saw a flash as Fleur appeared then Krum...
No Harry and no Cedric.
"Oh god." my throat burned.
"I'm sure they are fine. It's just the tens-" we saw a flash interrupt the conversation and I saw Harry kneel over Cedric. The band started playing but my face turned a dull green. Without hesitation, I took out into a high sprint and ran to Harry.
"Harry," I pulled him off Cedric and he started to cry harder. "Harry, I'm here." He cried into my shoulder and a tear fell down my face. Harry had a huge cut on his arm and I reached towards it.
Before I could even attend to it, Mad-eye Moody pulled Harry off of me and ran towards the castle.
"Madeline, is-" I nodded and Hermione started to cry.
"Cedric is dead." I cried and Ron pulled us into a hug.
We all made our way back to the castle and Dumbledore pulled me aside.
"Madeline, I need you to follow me right now." I looked back at Hermione and Ron before we ran towards the castle.
Dumbledore led me to a tower off the side of the castle.
"I need you to be very quiet." I looked at Snape and then McGonagall. I heard more shouting behind the door. I nodded and Dumbledore broke down the door.
"Expelliarmus!" Dumbledore pushed Moody back.
"Don't touch him." I pointed my wand at him and he fell back. He lunged at me, knocking me down and the teachers locked him. Harry ran over to me and helped me up.
"Are you okay?" he asked and I nodded.
"You?" I looked at his arm and wrapped it with a cloth.
"Thanks." he poured the potion into Moody's mouth and he started fidgeting. Harry pushed me behind him. Moody looked towards the trunk we were hiding behind.
"Harry, Maddie get away from there!" Dumbledore shot a spell and it opened, revealing-
the real Alastor Moody.
"But who's-"I turned to the other man and he started changing.
Barty Crouch Jr.
He lifted up his arm and showed the dark mark.
The only important thing was..
Harry was safe.
We sat at Cedric's funeral as Dumbledore spoke. I sat next to Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Ginny. He told the story exactly how he died and he allowed some of us to speak as well. He let his father come up, then me, and Harry. I couldn't help to cry.
"Cedric was a great man." I sighed as I stood in the podium. I fought for a pair of eyes I could look at. I looked over to Draco's and he nodded his head.
"He was always there for anyone in need or..." I continued until it was Harry's turn.
When I was done, I sat back down by Hermione. She patted my shoulder and I cried into it.
All these characters belong to J.K. Rowling. All credit goes to her for some of the plot and all of setting (characters, etc.) I made Maddie Weasley, that is it. I am just a girl who wants to write fanfictions.
I didn't want to extend Cedric's funeral for my crying session. I know it was shorter, but I hope you all liked it.
