The room was toasty as Marcus slept rough, he had been suffering from nightmares for the last three years, each was different in a certain way but it had the same theme, Gwen dyeing by his hand, the laughter of Gabe and Kiren, he bolted upright sweating hard and panting, his heart raceing, he looked around the room to check his surroundings, his alarm went off as he wiped his forehead, he checked the time on his alarm and noticed it said 7:30 in the morning, he sighed hard and pulled the cover off himself and sat on the edge, he held his head in his hands rubbing his face, he looked up and stretched, with the feeling of going to need the loo he got up and placed his feet on the floor, it was cold but that didn’t bother him, each foot step felt heavy as it slumped and slapped the floor, he walked in the bathroom and looked at his reflection in the mirror, his hear was jet black and his gray streak was gone, his face was leaner with stronger features, his ears were pointed like a wolfs and his skin was slightly paler than normal, as he smiled and checked his teeth he had two sharp pointed fangs, his body was more toned and well looked after, he rubbed his hand on his chin and realised that he needed a shave, but he decided to do it later on the day, he checked his eyes to see if they had changed at all but for the last half a year his eyes stayed a golden auburn colour, he sighed, he walked into the bedroom and started to put on his uniform, black trousers, white socks, black shoes, and a black polo shirt, he roughly combed his hair with his extended claws, for the past three years Lucan showed him how to control his werewolf side where as Caleb showed him how to control his vampire side, it had been 6 months since they both stopped helping him so he can help himself, Lucan also showed him how to groom himself.

He stretched out and closed the door behind him locking it with his keys, he looked around and the world was still the same as if nothing had happened or changed, he sighed and walked to the buss stop and waited for his buss to get to work, as it approached it was nearly packed to the brim but he still managed to get on it, the journey was long and the bus was stuffy but it didn’t mind Marcus, he felt cool to the touch, after what felt like a hour on the bus he finely arrived at the London museum.
As he checked the clock tower which showed eight forty five he walked into work, already the place was packed with people, as he walked in he looked around and walked upstairs to his office, Derek had not longed retired from his job and Marcus had taken over as manager of the mythology section, as he walked in the office it was empty apart from Derek sitting on a chair awaiting Marcus’s arrival, he had a smile on his face as he said “Hello Marcus, you look rough around the edges”
Marcus smiled and said “yeah, i do need a shave don’t i, what are you doing here?”
Derek stood up and said “well i maybe retired but i still have to check on you now and again, even though you’re doing a good job, it’s the board of directors you see, if i report back they get off your back, sigh sorry for doing it”
Marcus smiled “It’s ok Derek i understand”
Derek stood up and said “well this should be the last time i do this, have you found a assistant yet?”
Marcus sat down on his chair and started to look through them one by one he sighed and said “well i have a interview today, the last one and hopefully the right one”
Derek smiled “yeah, true hopefully, who is it?”
Marcus picked it up and said “Well it’s a Miss Jennifer Anders, 21 years old from Scotland, she has been a teacher for a few years and has a diploma in mythology, plus knows how to use a computer but no work experience, well it would be a great start for her, what was the salary budget?”
Derek thought about it and said “should be around the eight pound fifty mark i think, Scotland you said? thats a long distance”
Marcus shrugged and said “well she said she would be staying with a friend while shes down here”
Derek smiled “far enough, what time she due?”
Marcus cleared the table of the files and walked towards his filing cabernet, he opened it and placed the files in closeing it again with a metallic clunk, he looked at Derek and said “she is due around nine thirty”
Derek checked his watch and said “well that’s in thirty minutes or so, well i better go and leave you too it, i know you’ll do fine, ill see you later ok”
Marcus nodded “Sure Derek take care”
Derek walked out of the door with a smile on his face, but before he could close the door he opend it again and said “Oh, Marcus your appointment is here early would you like to see her?”
Marcus looked up and said “Sure, please Derek”
Derek had a quick talk with the young girl and showed her in, as she stepped into the room Marcus quickly analysed her and what she was wearing, she wore a white shirt with a back bow on her collar, she was wearing a black skirt which stopped just above her knees and long white socks that stopped just below the kness, her shoes were black and shiny with a single strap going across, her long brown hair was tied into a single ponytail with a scrunchy tieing it back, her glasses were black but looked almost brand new, Marcus could see her curves and her dark brown eyes as she slowly walked into the room looking around he stood up to greet her by holding out his hand and said “Hi you must be Jennifer Anders i’m Marcus Cobalt, nice to meet you”

Jennifer nodded as she sat down opposite Marcus who sat down at his desk, in front of him he had her CV, he started to ask her question, her background history and her references, he asked question about the job role and what she could bring to the company, after a hour or so they finished there interview Marcus asked one finale Question “so if you get the job when could you start?”
Jennifer smiled and said “well asap really”
Marcus smiled “Perfect, i have already talked to your references and they gave you a glowing report, if you want you can come back tomorrow and start the following day”

Jennifer shook her head and said “thanks but i need to get going, you see I’m visiting a old friend of mine”
Marcus smiled and said “That’s ok, until tomorrow then?”
Jennifer smiled and said “Well see”
As Jennifer walked out of the door Marcus could but help to watch her curves, while she walked out, he sighed and said “well at least that’s one less stress to worry about”

Gwen looked up and said “Scotland, can i have a cup of tea?”
