Chapter 13

The crowd gathered round the shop, the SAS were keeping control of the gathering crowd, in the background was blue lights from the cars and vans, the lights lit up the streets as they flashed, just outside of the shop was a ambulance tending to Luna, she had small cuts here and there, she sat silent as the medics attended to her, Ruby was in the shop looking round for clues along with a couple of detectives, Marcus was looking after Gwen who was shaking, she had Marcus’s jacket around her, Marcus was standing smoking  a cigarette letting out a puff of smoke, just in front of the shop was a large rag that covered a body, small white flashes was lighting up the area as forensics photographers take pictures of each bit evidence, while the crowd gathering tried to take pictures of their own.

It was still dark but Marcus could make out that parts of the crowd was parting, like Moses and the parting of the red sea Lucan was parting the crowd with his aid Caleb in tow behind him, Marcus cursed in his mind, Ruby picked up on it but carried on, Luna could smell Lucan, she made little effort to move but she just sat up, Lucan passed the crowd and walked past the SAS guards

Marcus could tell his mood hasn’t improved since the last encounter, but this time he looked more pissed off the ever

“Well Well Marcus I turn my back for five minutes and look what mess you got yourself into this time, I just hope you haven’t contaminated by crime scene”

Marcus didn’t say nothing but just waited for the obvious question to arrive, Caleb was taking notes of what was around him, what was said, the manner in which it was said and the responses, Caleb had speed so he could write things down quick, Lucan the said

“Care to tell me why one of our suspects is dead and the three of you at the crime scene?”

Marcus, inhaled the smoke and exhaled out

“Lucan we was looking for someone in connection with the murders from the other day, with help from.....”

Marcus stopped in his tracks and looked down at Gwen, she was holding onto her legs sitting down on the floor staring into nothing

Lucan looked down and asked

“So who the hell is she then? I thought it was only three of you”

Marcus came back with a quick reply

“errr her name is Jane Doe”

Gwen looked up at Marcus her eyes were slightly teary, Lucan looked down at Gwen and said

“I see, well as long as we have something to write down, so what has Jane Doe got to do with what had happened here”

Luna jumped up from the ambulance her eyes was wide and filled with fire she stormed as the paramedics tried to detain her to get her to sit down and recover from what happened, by the time she got to Marcus, Gwen and Lucan she was fuming

“That girl had everything to do with what had happened, she asked the wrong questions, got me thrown out of the shop window and she was even taken hostage and got our only witness killed”

Luna was pointing down at Gwen with pure frustration and anger in her eyes, Gwen cowered slightly getting teary eyed, Ruby approached from behind from the shop and said

“Listen Luna it’s not her fault it could have happened to anyone”

Gwen looked up with a feeling that she was being stuck up for her hopes could have flew away, but it was quickly dashed when Ruby the continued on saying

“i mean she is only human after all, not strong, fast and she has been homeless so she can’t fight for her life”

Gwen got more depressed, she took her chance a snuck away leaving Marcus jacket in her place while they carried on talking, she slipped past the guards and the crowd, Marcus hadn’t noticed she was gone, but he the stuck up for Gwen even when she wasn’t there
